Carbon footprint, monopoly, and potentiality of change: Tokenizing art as an aesthetic practice for alternative ecologies

    No full text
The article discusses certain aspects of blockchain-based art, including the ecology and economy of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), applying projects curated by Ruangrupa for documenta 15, such as Jalar, Dayra, Cheesecoin, and BeeCoin, created within the lumbung Economy. In light of earlier investigations into the ecology of NFTs, the main areas of concern now are the ways in which information about the environmental effects of NFTs presents itself, the monopolization of particular technological mechanisms, the perpetuation of cultural biases, and, from this angle, the belief of artists in the potential for change brought about by the new technology. Given the economic and ecological implications arising from the blockchain projects discussed in this article, I propose to use the notion of ecosophy defined by Félix Guattari as an approach for lumbung Economy interpretation

Keeping up with the Kazokutchis: NFT-based primary cells of society

    No full text
Kazokutchi is an artistic project created by So Kanno, Akihiro Kato, and Takemi Watanuki in 2022. The installation combines robot-based digital artificial life forms, NFTs, and a blockchain-based community. Its origins can be traced back to the ideas underlying cellular automata and issues raised by evolutionary robotics. Combined with the ideas of Web3, blockchain, and NFTs, this project unfolds a vision of forthcoming social constructs created by fluid, yet well-organized, communities

    Dziedzictwo kulturowe Dolnego Śląska

    No full text
Lower Silesia was and is a borderland region, a meeting place of old and bordering cultures, an interpenetration of patterns, behaviors, customs, economic and family connections. Its cultural heritage included the culture of the entire immigrant population, its products and traditions, and the so-called monuments of the past. The process of growing into a regional reality was paradoxically hampered by the policy of national homogenization, which left no room for regional differences. In a period of intense globalization, the question of the possibility of preserving this original culture arises. What is needed is the transmission of cultural heritage, history, living tradition, not a relic, created today. The basis is the transmission and acceptance by subsequent generations of inherent values

Ewolucja GHRM w warunkach globalnych kryzysów w perspektywie pracowników

    No full text
Nowadays, a crisis can be defined as a circumstance in which problems and dangers suddenly arise that require an immediate response in the field of one or more areas, such as the economy, public health or security. Analyzing this definition in the context of recent global events, it can be linked directly to the events taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic. In companies, this epidemic was an unprecedented incident due to the drastic and urgent need to find their way through a situation of declining turnover, ensuring above-average safety of personnel or, finally, maintaining liquidity. Therefore, it can be said that it has had a significant impact on the way companies work and, consequently, on human resource management methodologies as well. GHRM (Green Human Resources Management) practices, which were gaining popularity, mainly in the pre-pandemic years, clashed then with the business reality of not only the pandemic, but also the war in Ukraine. These events may have had a significant impact on the pace of development of GHRM or how it was perceived by employees of companies existing in the Polish economy at that time. The main objective of the study became to present the current level of employees’ environmental awareness and their feelings about the application of a selected group of sustainability principles by their employers. To summarize the framework of the study, it can be concluded that: — GHRM topics are important to employees, — one in three respondents notes that their employer is more likely to adhere to sustainability principles after the pandemic than before it, — organizations are placing and will potentially place increasing emphasis on green human resource management.

Dramatic portrait of Serbian transition (perception of economic and social transition after the year 2000 in the plays of Serbian playwrights)

    No full text
In this paper, the author presents a portrait of the Serbian transition in the dramatic works of Serbian playwrights. The author investigates how the attitude of writers towards the transition and suffering of the 1990s manifests itself in dramatic writing, and how that attitude changed from the 1990s to the end of the first decade of the 21st century. In the 1990s playwrights wrote indirectly, through metaphor, about the consequences of war and transition for the society and individuals, and in the 21st century they used the model of documentary theatre to write about it. In the second part of the work, the author uses the example of several dramas to study the attitude of writers towards the character of the worker – from the lonely and lost individual to the class represented by the chorus of male and female workers

Graficzność (graphicacy) – dzieje koncepcji. Od umiejętności edukacyjnej do kompetencji komunikacyjnej

    No full text
The article explores the history and evolution of the concept of graphicacy, from its introduction in the 1960s to the present day. Initially, the term referred mainly to the ability to create and interpret maps and diagrams within the context of geography education. Over time, however, its scope has broadened to encompass a diverse range of skills related to the creation, interpretation, and analysis of various forms of visual communication, including graphs, diagrams, and infographics. The concept has also evolved to incorporate approaches such as critical graphicacy and data-graphicacy, which emphasise the importance of critical analysis concerning visual messages in both educational and social contexts

Procesy dyscyplinarne sędziów tzw. sekcji tajnych, część 1

The article concerns two disciplinary trials pending before the Superior Disciplinary Court against four judges adjudicating during the Stalinist era in the so-called secret departments: Emil Merz, Kazimierz Czajkowski, Marian Stępczyński and Ilia Rubinow. The first three held the position of judges of the Supreme Court, while the last one was a judge and president of a voivodeship court in Warsaw. Secret departments were unlawful units of court administration responsible for handling political cases while remaining in violation of the most basic principles of the rule of law. Of the dozens of judges who worked in the secret departments, only four have ever been subject to attempts at being held accountable. Of this group, only one was sentenced to a largely symbolic punishment, while the other three were either acquitted or the proceedings against them were discontinued due to the statute of limitations. The author succeeded in reaching previously unknown rulings issued in this case, stored in the archives of the Supreme Court. Relevant disciplinary proceedings were held in camera, and the files remained classified until 2002. For this reason, even though information on the course and outcome of this trial can be found in some studies, it is usually incomplete at best and often fundamentally incorrect. Due to the vastness of the topic, the article has been divided into two parts, with the following entry being the first one

Walka o godność i człowieczeństwo w czasach terroru politycznego powojennej Polski. Psychologiczna analiza na przykładzie życiorysu Tadeusza Gościmierza Gerasa

    Get PDF
This article examines two aspects of the life of Professor Tadeusz Gościmierz Geras. Firstly, the impact of political imprisonment under totalitarianism on the psychological analysis of the mental state of people in such a position. Secondly, the importance of the sociopolitical context and its developmental significance in the formation of political attitudes. In terms of the research material, the article is based on Professor Geras’ biography and the documentation collected during the legal proceedings against him, including letters and personal conversations. That research material was then juxtaposed against the scientific achievements of the Professor and other authors. It seems appropriate to stress that research of human beings in extreme or challenging circumstances remains an area of inquiry in which we lack comprehensive understanding for their functioning. Consequently, the aim of our paper was to illustrate the significance of investigating the developmental trajectory of an individual engaged in various social interactions, with a view to explain the underlying mechanisms of human behaviour
