Наративи етичної памʼяті, війни й тотожностей у сучасній українській літературі
No full textThe article analyzes the military narratives of modern poetic texts that actualize the themes of memory and identities. Individual poems by Oleksiy Byk, Ihor Astapenko, Oksana Rubanyak, and Viktoria Amelina, with all their artistic features, are considered. The essence of the concept of “ethical memory” is clarified, and the relationship between the terms “narrative” — “poetry”, “narrative” — “lyric” is highlighted. Attention is focused on the actual role of fiction in the construction of ways of remembering, and on the importance of preserving national identity. The dominant types of memory in current Ukrainian poetry are presented, and metaphors corresponding to them are analysed.У статті проаналізовано мілітарні наративи сучасних поетичних текстів, у яких актуалізовано теми пам᾽яті й тотожностей. Розглянуто окремі вірші Олексія Бика, Ігоря Астапенка, Оксани Рубаняк, Вікторії Амелі- ної, їх художні особливості. З᾽ясовано суть поняття „етична пам᾽ять”, висвітлено співвідношення термінів „наратив” — „поезія”, „наратив” — „лірика”. Увагу сфокусовано на актуальній ролі художньої літератури в конструюванні способів пам᾽ятання, важливості збереження на- ціональної ідентичності. Представлено домінантні різновиди пам᾽яті в сучасній українській поезії, проаналізовано співзвучні їм метафори.У статті проаналізовано мілітарні наративи сучасних поетичних текстів, у яких актуалізовано теми пам᾽яті й тотожностей. Розглянуто окремі вірші Олексія Бика, Ігоря Астапенка, Оксани Рубаняк, Вікторії Амелі- ної, їх художні особливості. Dialektyka kontekstu, interpretacja i Wittgenstein
No full textIn this article, I try to look at the figure of Ludwig Wittgenstein in the context of the time in which he lived. However, it should be noted at once that the focus is not on the philosophical views and the process of becoming directly the personality of Wittgenstein, but on the so-called “ladder”, which, according to the philosopher’s “testament”, was rejected by him at a certain point. In this article, I have also attempted to reveal the relationship between the conditions of existence and the specificity of Wittgenstein’s philosophy. One of the topics of the article is to consider the question of the status of context in the possibility of correct interpretation of the works of philosophers

I concluded those considerations that ‘library philosophy’ is a term often used without reflection. Therefore, I set myself the goal of examining the presence of the use of this concept in library science literature today, in an era of rapid changes in the world of libraries. In my research, I used the method of analysis and criticism of literature, and this analysis was qualitative in nature, without striving for completeness

No full textSince the late 1990s, the Dr. Witold Bełza Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Bydgoszcz has housed the legacy of Marian Turwid – writer, poet, painter, educator, and publicist. The collection comprises a vast collection of books, containing many interesting titles. It attests to Turwid’s passions and interests and provides a glimpse into his contacts with figures in culture and science. It also includes publications by philosophers. This is a closed collection, never made available to the public, so the notes contained within the books are undoubtedly Turwid’s and can provide significant insights into research. The author found six figures from the world of philosophy on the Bydgoszcz artist’s shelves (Maritain Jacques, Stefan Morawski, Michał Sobeski, Stefan Szuman, Mieczysław Wallis, and Władysław Witwicki), but focused on only two of them, Szuman and Witwicki, in order to expand on the topic of aesthetics (and especially aesthetic education) in the article. In the works of Szuman and Witwicki, the author identifies passages highlighted by Turwid himself and relates these to specific press articles by the writer. In many journalistic texts, she finds threads connecting the artist with the aesthetic reflections of both Szuman and Witwicki. The author demonstrates the high coherence of the presented visions, the numerous themes of aesthetic education and cultural pedagogy in Turwid’s work, and the influence of his philosophical publications on his press output. The topic under discussion expands the existing interpretations of Turwid’s achievements and opens his work to a philosophical plane

No full textBuilding on Avishai Margalit’s now-classic The Decent Society, which explores the idea of a society free from humiliation and the role humiliation plays in the lives of individuals and communities, this essay asks what place animals hold in such a decent society. As a sidenote to Margalit’s reflections, the author raises the question: Can an animal be humiliated? Drawing on legal, philosophical, and literary sources, the essay traces various ways of thinking about the humiliation of animals and presents arguments for protecting them from being demeaned.Wychodząc od klasycznej już pracy Avishaia Margalita The Decent Society, poświęconej idei społeczeństwa nieupokarzającego oraz znaczenia upokorzenia w życiu jednostek i społeczeństw, tekst podejmuje problem miejsca zwierząt w przyzwoitym społeczeństwie. No full textThis article draws on the perspective proposed by Mirosław Kocur in In the Power of Theatre: Actors and Spectators in Ancient Rome and applies it to Flavius Josephus’s Autobiography. It examines the text for concepts, terminology, and practices associated with theatrical art in order to assess the extent to which Josephus’s self-presentation may be understood through a performative lens. The analysis emphasizes the multilayered character of Josephus’s identity, showing it to be considerably more complex and problematic than has often been acknowledged. In conclusion, the article offers an axiological interpretation of the roles enacted by Josephus within his autobiographical narrative.Artykuł przyjmuje perspektywę książki Mirosława Kocura We władzy teatru. Aktorzy i widzowie w antycznym Rzymie. Sprawdza tezę w odniesieniu do Autobiografii Józefa Flawiusza. Poszukuje w źródle pojęć, terminów i działań związanych ze sztuką teatralną. Determinanty nieliberalnego modelu procesu karnego. Zarys problematyki
No full textThe aim of this article is to present the key areas identifying the shift away from a liberal criminal trial model towards an illiberal one. Among the key determinants, the author includes structural issues related to the weakening and social delegitimization of the judiciary. In the criminal-procedural aspect, he points to the strengthening of the investigative powers of the pre-trial authorities and the weakening of procedural guarantees, particularly the limitation of judicial review. The theoretical field of research refers to the concepts of proactive and reactive states as perceived by Mirjan Damaška, as well as the model of due process and crime control proposed by Herbert L. Packer. The author concludes that the characteristic feature of the illiberal (authoritarian) model is limiting the right of access to defense counsel and access to the case file, along with the de facto abandonment of consensual means of resolution, which significantly weakens the standard of a fair criminal trial.Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie węzłowych obszarów znamionujących odchodzenie od modelu liberalnego procesu karnego w kierunku nieliberalnego. Do zasadniczych determinantów autor zalicza kwestie ustrojowe związane z osłabieniem i delegitymizacją społeczną władzy sądowniczej. W aspekcie karnoprocesowym wskazuje na wzmocnienie uprawnień śledczych organów postępowania przygotowawczego oraz osłabienie gwarancji procesowych — ograniczenie sądowej kontroli. Teoretycznym polem badawczym jest odniesienie się do koncepcji państwa proaktywnego i reaktywnego w ujęciu Mirjana Damaški oraz modelu należytego procesu i kontroli przestępczości zaproponowanego przez Herberta L. Packera. Autor dochodzi do konkluzji, że cechą charakterystyczną modelu nieliberalnego (autorytarnego) są limitowanie: prawa dostępu do obrońcy i dostępu do akt sprawy oraz faktyczna rezygnacja z konsensualnych sposobów rozstrzygnięć, co znacząco osłabia standard rzetelnego procesu karnego

No full textThe aim of the article is to discuss contemporary threats resulting from the use of applications based on artificial intelligence in healthcare for the elderly. The scope of the issues formulated in the title includes two basic issues. The first one aims to capture the essence of ageism as a multifaceted and complex phenomenon that can take various forms and causes of its occurrence, as well as to present several typologies of ageism due to its nature and scope. The second issue concerns the manifestations of ageism in healthcare for the elderly against the background of the ongoing changes related to the development of artificial intelligence. The study conducted an analysis of literature, views and research in the discussed area. An analysis of EU regulations relating to the examined issue was also made.Celem artykułu jest omówienie współczesnych zagrożeń wynikających z wykorzystania aplikacji opartych na sztucznej inteligencji w opiece zdrowotnej dla osób starszych. Zakres problematyki sformułowanej w tytule obejmuje dwa podstawowe zagadnienia. Pierwsze z nich ma na celu uchwycenie istoty ageizmu jako wieloaspektowego i złożonego zjawiska, które może przybierać różne formy i przyczyny swojego występowania, a także przedstawienie kilku typologii ageizmu ze względu na jego charakter i zakres. Drugie zagadnienie dotyczy przejawów ageizmu w opiece zdrowotnej dla osób starszych na tle zachodzących zmian związanych z rozwojem sztucznej inteligencji. W opracowaniu przeprowadzono analizę literatury, poglądów i badań w omawianym obszarze. Dokonano również analizy przepisów UE odnoszących się do badanego zagadnienia
