CULTURAL IMPACT ON COMMITMENT TO CHANGE OF LOWER LEVEL EMPLOYEES
Many efforts for successful implementation of planned changes have fail due to various reasons; out of which people factor is crucial. Thus, managing a change is a challenge. Hence the present study considered commitment to change of lower level employees in Sri Lankan context. The research was based on two studies; first, to find out the levels of commitment to change; and second, to find out the relationship between commitment to change and two cultural dimensions; power distance and individualism using a survey method. The findings revealed that, lower level employees have less affective and normative commitment to change while high continuance commitment to change. Both power distance and individualism significantly and negatively correlated with commitment to change. Thus, lower level employees expect a less power distant and collective work culture to support a successful change effort.
THE VALIDATION OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT MEASUREMENT SCALE: A CROSS CULTUREAL APPLICATION IN THE AVIATION SECTOR IN THAILAND
The organizational commitment measurement scale of Allen and Meyer (1990) has been widely used in organizational studies. This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of a Thai version of the Organizational Commitment Measurement Scale (OC-T). Two research questions form the basis of the study: (a) Are the three components of OC-T distinguishable from each other when applied in the aviation sector in Thailand?; and (b) Are the three components of OC-T reliable and valid in the aviation sector in Thailand? Data were collected from a questionnaire administered to 170 employees in the aviation sector in Thailand. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was applied to the findings. Based on internal reliability analysis, the three components of OC-T were distinguishable from each other indicating that the Thai version of Allen and Meyer’s Organizational Commitment Measurement Scale can be applied in aviation organizations in Thailand
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF COMPASSION AND RESILIENCE AMONG ADOLESCENTS WHOSE PARENTS ARE DIVORCED
Self-Compassion is an alternative model for self-views related to the difficult life circumtances to promote resilience among adolescents (Neff & McGehee, 2010). This study was aimed at determining the relationship between Self Compassion and Resilience among Adolescents whose parents are divorced. The study has been carried out on 36 subjects, 8 are males and 28 are females which 18-21 years old whose parents are divorced in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study used Self Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003) adapted by Danisati (2018) and The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (Connor & Davidson, 2003) developed by Septriani (2017). The study hypothesized, there was a positive relationship between self-compassion and resilience. Statistical results used the Pearson Rho technique showed that there was a significant positive relationship between self-compassion and resilience (p = 0,000, r = 0,554). The relationship between the two variables showed that the higher the Self Compassion shown by adolescent, the higher the Resilience of their life
HOW DOES FEMINISM ENGENDER THE GLOBAL PEACE AND SECURITY AGENDA?
This qualitative desk review study conceptualises the current global peace and security agenda from the standpoint of an extraordinary career path that has shifted between gender activism and political activism for peace. Women's activism has been subjected to astute gender analysis over-time, placing women’s histography at the centre of international relations. Modern scholarship should devote attention to pre-colonial history of women’s participation in communal peace and security, developing creative methodologies for historical reconstructing, to focus on how women promulgate the peace and security agenda. Normatively, feminism has influenced a vibrant legal regime on gender equality and women’s political participation. Practically, the activism of women in Kosovo, Sierra Leone and Liberia facilitated peaceful transitions from dictatorship governments. Arguments locate women’s voices and experiences as catalysts for a past, present and future global feminist international relations discourse. The Hague Peace Conference (1915) and the Beijing Conference (1995) are cited as rallying points for women’s collective action globally to influence an alternative negotiated peace settlement, tracing links between war, nationalism, masculinity, and violence. Study concludes that the women’s movement birthed strategies to galvanize women’s collective power for a peace feminist agenda in tandem with key reference points of the UN Charter.
CHILDREN IN SINGLE MOTHER FAMILIES: OUTCOMES OF SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION AND POLICY DESIGN OF SINGLE MOTHER FAMILIES
The main issue analysed in the paper is policy design and its outcome on social construction of single mother families as well as on the wellbeing of single mother’s children. Literature review and qualitative legislation documents analysis has been conducted to demonstrate how single mothers are perceived in different welfare state regimes and the case of Lithuania is presented. The main findings of the paper show that in the welfare regimes (such as social democratic) where single mother families are seen as equal families to traditional family, policy strikes to provide the children with equal opportunities despite family circumstances, while other regimes (such as post-soviet) concentrate on controlling demography and therefore promote traditional families and children from single mother families are rather neglected. Moreover, all the welfare regimes and their policies fail to recognise the diversity within single mother families and therefore, at the end, children are not set equally.

GREEN SPACES AND MENTAL HEALTH: DOES FREQUENCY OF USE OR PROXIMITY AFFECT SUBJECTIVE WELLBEING AND PERCEIVED STRESS?
Urbanization is essential for economic growth; however, it has a negative effect on the environment and the psychological health of the population. Urban green spaces help in the reduction of air and noise pollution while increasing people’s wellbeing through social interactions and creating an outdoor space for physical activity. Due to the rapid urbanization of the United Arab Emirates, the research on green spaces in this region is fundamental. The study included two hypotheses: 1) Greater proximity and frequency of use results in lower perceived stress and 2) Greater proximity and frequency of use leads to greater wellbeing. The results yielded non-significant for proximity to green spaces and stress and wellbeing. However, frequency of use showed a significant correlation. Additionally, the researchers explored the most common uses of green spaces and suggestions that would increase the frequency of use through open-ended questions. The results could be a manifestation of the Attention Restoration Theory and Biophilia Theory
VARIOUS ASPECTS OF PAREMIOLOGICAL UNITS
The objective of the research is the study of the structure and semantics of the English paremiological units (on the material of the thematic group "labour-idleness"). The following tasks are set and solved in the article: to give a definition to the term “paremiological unit”; to identify different aspects of the paremiological units which is belong to the branch of the linguistics, paremiology. The expected results of the doctoral thesis will contribute to the development of the theory of linguistics, paremiology, linguistic folklore, comparative linguistics and linguoculture. The results of the research will find application for conducting scientific courses and seminars, in the process of reading lectures and special courses in English language.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF WORSHIP IN THE MAURITIAN BHOJPURI FOLK SONGS
Research Objectives: My paper aims at studying the psychology of worship in the Mauritian Bhojpuri folk songs. Songs from the Mauritian ‘Geet-Gawai’ (Bhojpuri songs sung before the wedding ceremony in Mauritius) will be analysed. Themes like pantheism, fear and awe in religion, nature worship or nature mysticism will be discussed. How do these singers perceive worship? Which theories are reflected in these songs? For how long will this tradition of worship exist?Methodology: Besides discourse analysis, interviews with the singers have shed light on these questions.Research Findings: Mauritian Bhojpuri folk songs depict the belief that reality is same as divinity. Everything is part of a merciful and eternal God. Theory of Pantheism of Baruch Spinoza prevails in the analysis where a similarity is also seen in the Vedas-philosophy of Advaita (Non-Dualism). This ceremony depicts that there are no barriers of caste and class as it contributes in the making of a strong multiracial community identity. It is no longer only for women as men are also actively participating in it
RESEARCH PARADIGM AND THE PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF A QUALITATIVE STUDY
This paper principally describes the link between the research paradigm (constructivism) and the philosophical basis (ontology, epistemology and methodology) of a qualitative study. This article begins with an overview of qualitative study which consists of its meanings and features followed by the definition of research paradigm. The constructivist paradigm is explained alongside the example of my own qualitative research project. This paper also discusses how the constructivist paradigm relates to the ontology, epistemology and methodology of a qualitative study. It is hoped that this article will facilitate novice researchers particularly to know what the meaning of each philosophical term is, how the research paradigm is interwoven within the philosophical basis of a qualitative research and how different research paradigms serve different research purposes
