Cross-cultural communication has a significant impact on international students in Malaysia culture regarding their gender and nationalism. Due to the lack of information and research, as well as no initiation to find out the ways to resolve the issue, the international students are concerned regarding their gender and nationalism in a host country perspective. We used appropriate literature in the fields of global teaching acculturation and adaptation of overseas students; and discrimination research and their backgrounds to discuss how global students recognize and articulate their domestic and gender identity in UMS, Sabah, Malaysia. For global students, a qualitative technique refers to say their tales overseas and describe the variables influencing the development of domestic and gender identity. A total number of participants are forty-three, who study in different faculties and institutions in UMS. In findings, it categorizes in three broad factors and those are (1) negotiations of national identity, (2) femaleness and nationhood, and lastly (3) gender negotiation: maleness and nation. Overall, this research shows how learning about who you are and who you aim to become involves the daily lives of studying in UMS. University educators and staff need to investigate and alter strategies in respects that foster understanding of how multidimensional identities can be, but also show how cultural obstacles can generate hierarchies that perpetuate inequalities
BUSINESS GOODWILL AND REPUTATION – WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW
Passing off protects customer’s goodwill, that is, traders spend a great deal of effort and expense in building an identifiable reputation in order to create and enhance a market for their goods and services. There can be no goodwill without a reputation, though a reputation may exist without goodwill.Trademarks help to maintain commercial reputation. An equally significant protection is afforded through the specific law. Since 1896, there has been consistent development of this form of tort, but there is no judicial consensus as to the legitimate extent of protection required. The alternative suggestion of malicious, falsehood also failed to assume the significance it demanded. Unlike other forms of intellectual property, registered trademarks and passing off, focus on the producer’s reputation and goodwill.
USAGE OF ELECTRONIC RESOURCES, SERVICES AND CHALLENGES FACED BY THE LIBRARY USERS IN UNIVERSITY OF THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS (UVPA), SRI LANKA
The electronic resources have become one of the major sources of information for teaching, learning and research activities, as present era is mainly depending on internet based online resources. Though the conditions are prevailing as such, majority of the library users do not have sufficient knowledge and skills to use the electronic resources and services. Hence, before commencing awareness programs and orientations it is essential to measure the usage, issues and challenges of using e-resources and services by the library users. This study was designed to speculate the usage and problems of using e-resources and services provided by the UVPA library. Population of this study was UVPA library users and random sampling method was used for selecting the participants. Among the population total number of 450 library users were considered as the sample. Sample has been represented 300 number of students in three faculties and 150 number of academic and nonacademic staff members. Structured online questionnaires were used as main data collection instrument and interviews and observations were used to collect the primary data. The response rate was 100%. The study revealed that the majority (72.7%) of library users (students and staff members) aware of the e-resources and services provided by the library. But, only 62.2% of the library users used the e-resources and services. Most of the respondents used library Web-resources (website), OPAC (searching and renewing service) and past exam paper downloading facility, respectively as a percentage of 62.2%, 60.9% and 57.8%. In additionally findings were revealed that 46% of respondents used the e-journal and Digital Repository System. Compare to the other services E-mail service and database usage were fairly low. Study has shown that nearly 37.8% of respondent had never used the e-resources and services. User satisfaction and usefulness of e-resources and services was 62.2% of the participants. Based on the findings, the reasons for lower usage of e-resources and services were lack of infrastructure facilities, lack of user education and user awareness programs, English language barriers, and lack of IT skills and knowledge. Accordingly, library should play active role by commencing well-planned user awareness programs and more user education programs, developing infrastructure facilities and subscribing more e-resources. Further to this researcher suggest to revise the curriculums by adding more practical sessions and establishing email or mobile alert update service to get maximum benefit of the e-resources and services.

A COMPARISON OF TWO METHODS FOR REDUCING TEST-ANXIETY AND IMPROVING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
This study examined the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and study skills training (SST) in reducing test-anxiety and improving academic performance. Eighty one high test-anxious male students in the tenth grade were randomly assigned to three groups: CBT, SST and waiting-list control (WLC). CBT aimed to help participants become aware of the anxiety-producing self-statements they emitted both before and during exams, and to train them to develop positive self-statements that would facilitate task attending; whereas SST aimed to teach participants the skills necessary for effective learning, namely SQ3R method of studying, techniques of time management, note-taking methods, test preparation techniques and test-taking techniques. All participants receiving treatment met for a total of six 50-minute treatment sessions spanning over six weeks. The data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA and one way MANOVA. The results indicated that both treatment groups made significant improvements from pretest to posttest in test-anxiety when compared to the WLC group. However, only the CBT group was superior to the WLC group in improving academic performance. Overall, the results were interpreted as giving support to the interference model of the debilitating effect of anxiety on performance
A MODEL OF ADAPTIVE LEARNING IN SMART CLASSROOMS BASED ON THE LEARNING STRATEGIES
The paper presents a proposal of a model of adaptive learning. The model takes the advantage of a smart classroom environment for the realization of adaptive learning. As adaptation criteria, it uses parameters of motivation, student’s prior knowledge, cognitive load and a dynamic environmental parameter. The dynamic environmental parameter is a parameter which is obtained by evaluating physical parameters of working environment in a smart classroom. The learning process is carried out through different learning strategies grouped in learning categories. The model dedicates a learning category to a student based on a formula which takes in consideration above mentioned adaptation criteria The proposed model has been tested. The assessment test scores at the end of a learning process showed that student’s in the experimental group achieved better learning outcomes than the student’s who learned in a traditional manner. The obtained results are encouraging and lay a sound foundation for the application and further development of the model

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL ENVIRONMENT BY INNOVATION IN TOURISM
Tourism is today a mass phenomenon, with serious implications in the economic, social domain and in population welfare from the areas where it is practiced. In this paper we have studied the village Viscri - an example of success in the development of sustainable rural tourism by innovation and originality. Viscri is a Saxon village located in the commune Buneşti in Braşov County, Romania. As early as the 2000s, the local community in Viscri, supported by the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation (MET) has managed to develop a tourism concept that is based on the local population. By developing a new concept of tourism organization, Viscri inhabitants have proved that Romanian villages can attract tourists by creating a stable and sustainable system of tourism by capitalizing on all resources, from the human capital to the traditions, customs, and stories of an area. In the paper, we will analyze, by means of a quantitative marketing study, the perceptions of the inhabitants in Viscri about the development of rural tourism. The research aims at identifying the underlying aspects for the development of sustainable tourism in the village Viscri by studying the way of thinking and behavior of the locals
THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF COHESIVE DEVICES ON READING COMPREHENSION OF KOREAN LEARNERS
This study explores how different types of cohesive devices impact the reading comprehension for Korean as a second language learner. According to the findings, in the case of substitution, learners did not recognize the substitute expression well when they read the text. But they felt that it was more difficult to understand the text when multiple substitutions appeared within a text. In the case of conjunction, conjunctions helped learners understand the text. And in the case of ellipsis, learners who did not recognize the ellipsis read the text naturally, but the ones who did recognize it as an ellipsis responded that the meaning of the sentence was confusing and more difficult to comprehend. Finally, in the case of lexical device, repetition of the same word was helpful, but the repetition of synonym or hyponym did not help comprehend the text, because it required them to think about the relationship between the word and the synonym once more. It is hoped that the findings in this study will be of guidance to educators on how to teach cohesive devices so that the Korean language learners can effectively read and comprehend the meaning of Korean text
WHAT KIND OF HEALING DOES PSYCHEDELIC-ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY FOSTER?
World-wide, researchers and practitioners in psychiatry are increasingly interested in the effectiveness of such substances as MDMA, LSA, and psylocibin in treating such disorders as addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other types of depressive and anxiety. Although most of these substances were declared illegal in most countries during the 1970s, research into their use was widespread during the mid-20th century, and has recently returned to the spotlight. Psychotherapy enhanced by some of these substances has been demonstrated to be highly effective where pharmaceuticals have not. People undergoing these therapies appear to be truly healed, rather than merely treated. This, though, raises the philosophical question of what the nature is of the healing that therapy utilizing these substances fosters. Unlike pharmaceutical treatments, these treatments are not based on a biological model, chronically altering brain chemistry; and unlike traditional talk therapies, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy does not require extended periods of time, or any of the elements associated with Freudian, cognitive behavior, or other psychological models. Using traditional philosophical methods, this paper argues that objections to the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy are unwarranted, and that, in fact, the kind of healing that they bring about is just what our competitive, isolating, and alienating contemporary world needs
