MATERNAL HEALTH CARE PRACTICES OF LOTHA NAGA TRIBAL WOMEN IN INDIA
Tribal Women in India are more privileged in various ways as in comparison with the women of caste hierarchy. However, due to geographic isolation, they are deprived of access to basic amenities like livelihood opportunities, education, health, and sanitation. The twin factors of distance and cost of intensive maternal health care expenses hinders the tribal women in accessing to the health care services. For this reason, the traditional health care practitioners are profoundly preferred and they have been the largest maternal health care providers to the tribal women. The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in India was 174 in 2015 (WHO, 2018) and the MMR in the State of Nagaland accounts of 160 (GOI-UNDP Report Nagaland, 2016). The Nagaland State also indicates as the lowest and poorest in maternal health care among the Northeastern States in India with an institutional delivery of only 33 percent. The institutional delivery in Wokha District of Nagaland accounts of 34 percent (NFHS-4, 2016). Thus, the study has been undertaken with an objective to portray the maternal health care status of the Lotha tribal women; to describe the maternal health care practices among Lotha tribal women; and to determine the health care infrastructure in the study areas. The Sequential Explorative Research Design has been adopted, and the study ponders on the maternal health care practices of Lotha Tribal women residing in Yanpha and Old Ralan Villages of Wokha District in the State of Nagaland, India. The study therefore, intends to contribute in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national and global level.
DOMINANCE OF EUROPEAN CULTURE IN TODAY’S SOCIETY
Throughout modern history, we can see that Western culture has influenced the life of people all of the world and the way we think. My research is focused on European colonialism and its impact on modern society. My reference materials in the research process include scholarly articles and current news articles. The findings of my research are that almost all of the issues and trends today are somewhat related to colonialism. Even though colonialism has long ended, its legacies remain in today’s society and has shaped the way of our thinking today, as it has led to dominance of European culture in the world. This paper examines colonialism’s impact in many different areas, including politics, economics, religion, language, clothing, and cuisine, using examples from different parts of the world, including Africa, Asia and South America. Based on the research, I have found the profound influence of European colonialism on today’s society and people’s way of thinking

APPLICATION OF PLACEBO EFFECT INTERFACE DESIGN IN IMPROVING THE USER EXPERIENCE
The Internet is a virtual architecture of the real world. Traditional designers often transplant real-life experiences into Internet product design to reduce learning costs. The user interface is the language of communication between the two worlds. The user experience can make the virtual world communicate more smoothly with the real world. It is difficult for designers to balance user needs with business needs if they rely solely on traditional life experiences. Because both are competing for users' time. Thus, we can balance the needs of both parties by using the placebo effect to reduce the anxiety of the user waiting. This article takes the loading method of APP startup page as an example, from the perspective of Internet interface design and user experience, to explore how to optimize the user experience and reduce anxiety. Using the questionnaire method and the sounding thinking method to obtain the user's data. The correlation between different requirements was obtained by using the Likert scale and One-factor dependent sample ANOVA. The Kano model was used to classify the data into different levels of requirements. This study has contributed to the study of user experience in optimizing the loading interface
REFORMING BUSINESS ENGLISH TEACHING PRACTICES: PERCEPTIONS, CONSTRICTIONS, AND SOLUTIONS
This research work is entitled “Reforming Business English Teaching Practices: Perceptions, Constrictions, and Solutions”. It is an attempt to explore the scarcities and the constraints confronted by the teachers of Business English in the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Management, and Commerce, at the University of Bejaia (Algeria) since Business English is one of the major branches of ESP courses. Accordingly, this investigation concerns itself with the issue of what challenges do this particular subset of Business English teachers meet and which remedial solutions can be suggested. To tackle this problem, we have put forward the hypothesis which states that “the whole amalgam of teaching policies, curricula, and strategies need to be revised in order to overcome the current existing limitations”. In order to collect data and check the correctness of our hypothesis, we have opted to the quantitative and the qualitative methods by means of a questionnaire designed for the teachers of Business English in the three departments at the level of the faculty along with an interview designed for the faculty’s chief leaders. The anticipated outcome of this project is to demonstrate the lack and the deficits in the contemporary process of Business English teaching at the University of Béjaia, then suggesting solutions for better future practices. This research work highlights the importance of rethinking and revising the existing policies starting from the ministry to the faculty level, focusing on collaboration between all the concerned parties. Besides, it points up redesigning and reshuffling the BE course curriculum according to learners’ needs by taking into account all the skills within the communicative competence. Therefore, this investigation can be a valuable contribution to the professional development of Business English teachers, hence, their learners’ feedback
VISUAL ARTS-BASED RESEARCH METHODS IN SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH
Toward the end of the 20th century, scholars in various fields of science started to challenge the dominant position of discursive research methods based on verbal materials. This pursuit was motivated by the inadequacy of positivistic science in addressing the sphere of visual, sensory, embodied, and emotional experiences. Inspired by the visual, material, sensory, and emotional turns in social sciences, social science researchers began to develop and apply arts-based research methods aiming to diversify the understanding of the social world provided by discursive research methods. The study at hand discusses the contribution of arts-based research to social science research, based on literature on arts-based research. In particular, the study concentrates on visual arts-based research. At first, it sketches the background of arts-based research in social sciences and summarizes briefly the scope of arts-based research in social work, management, and organizational studies, as well as sociology. Then the study defines arts-based research and discusses the contribution of visual arts-based research methods to social science research, paying attention to their limitations, as well. Finally, conclusions are drawn and suggestions for future research are made. The study shows that arts-based methods may motivate and encourage participants to reflect on the topic of the research and share their thoughts and feelings. In addition, arts-based research may appeal to emotions and lived-experiences providing a more holistic insight into the participants’ experiences. Finally, arts-based methods seem to promote critical thinking
“WOMEN SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ACTION’’ A CASE STUDY OF WOMEN SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP INITIATIVES IN TAMIL NADU (INDIA)
Entrepreneurs are not homogeneous and their initiatives determine the social and economic development of a nation. They are able to position themselves successfully in the local and global market. Many scholars and academicians addressed the functions of entrepreneurs especially women commercial entrepreneurs and their involvement to improve the society. However, there is an urgent need to create awareness among women about social entrepreneurship initiatives, due to an increasingly number of problems that women have been facing in the society. This paper aims to discuss the hindering factors and the support system that is required to promote women social entrepreneurs. This research paper focussed on young and small pioneer organisations. The researcher used case study analysis based on semi-structured interviews with women social entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu (India) being mainly young and small pioneer organizations. The researcher provided some valuable suggestions to increase the number of women social entrepreneurship initiatives along with the scope for further research
THE ROLE OF TRAINING AND MANAGEMENT IN THE SYSTEM OF DEMAND-SUPPLY IN THE TOURISM OF MOZAMBIQUE
Nowadays with migration issues, the increasing enmity between the north and the south, the analysis of the economic cutch-up of developing countries is becoming more and more relevant under the principle “think globally and act locally”. In our research this year – based on our personal relationship – we have chosen to analyse tourism in Africa, in particular, Mozambique. Our main theme focuses on the role of training and management, because we believe that among the elements necessary for an economic catch-up to achieve significant results these two elements need to be developed. Based on the number of employees in the tourism sector (271 300 people) the country occupies the 51st place in the world which is not bad compared to its contribution to the GDP. The export generated by foreign tourists from 2008 to 2017 doubled (180 million USD) but the country is behind the frontline. In our research we have analysed the importance of the demand related to tourism. First we sought answers to the questions how efficient and useful is the potential found in the current workforce compared to that of the competitors, what problems overwhelm the sector’s management and what are the barriers to development. We were also interested in how the sector’s training supports the innovation of tourism. To answer the questions above, we conducted a primary research after carrying out an interview with the leadership of Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo de Inhambane (College of Catering and Tourism of Inhambane) where we enquired about the role of training and management. This school is academically controlled by Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (University Eduardo Mondlane) located in Maputo. Besides evaluating the information gained through the interview we also analysed and compared the existing and the obtained data and information
