The Indonesian government in the JokoWidodo-JusufKalla era (2014-2019) accelerated welfare in the village by launching the Village Fund (VF) program in accordance with Law Number. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. However, since the VF was rolled out in 2015, cases of misuse of funds have continued to spread, mostly involving village heads and village officials. To minimize irregularities in the VF, the Ministry of Villages from Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Ministry of PDTT) established the Village Fund Task Force (VFTF) at the central level. INSURANCE LAWS & PRACTICES IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND SOUTH AFRICA: INSIGHTS FOR NIGERIA
The United States of America (US) is one of the largest financial markets, and houses the most mature and viable insurance sector in the world, with a huge population and well developed technologically advanced insurance sector. Insurance as part of the finance sector added 21% to the GDP of the financial institutions in the US. Similarly, in the Republic of South Africa (SA), though smaller in population to the US and Nigeria, SA enjoys a robust insurance sector with the latest Insurance Act 2018 to help the sector and the economy. Nigeria, on the other hand is much larger in terms of size and population to SA, being over 200million in population, but with a weak insurance sector and the Insurance Act 2004 is the primary legislation sustaining insurance practice in the 36 states of Nigeria. This paper examines the prospects, challenges and pitfalls of these experienced sectors, with a view to gaining useful insights into their insurance laws and practices for useful guide that can benefit the Nigerian insurance industry and made recommendations that attention must be given to Nigerian Insurance law, by way of a review and an amendment for growth of the industry. Digital and technological infrastructure, though presently at its nascent stages in Nigeria, must be fully explored if the sector is to realize its full potential, while attention must be given to the cost and over-dependence on digital and tech innovations to avoid their pitfalls
MODEL OF ASSIMILATION/INTEGRATION OF IMMIGRANTS
The article aims to familiarize the scientific community with one of the results of a qualitative case study investigation that employed ethnographic methods of gathering data on Russian-speaking immigrants in the Brisbane region, Queensland, Australia, conducted in 2016-2017. The study, titled "Perceptions of Russian-speaking immigrants: A case study in Australia," was held in response to one of the most pressing and challenging questions on the agenda of many public administration offices around the world –"What can be done for better integration/assimilation of immigrants into host communities?" It set itself to identify factors affecting the processes of assimilation and integration of Russian-speaking immigrants into Australian society. The research not only pointed out alleged obstacles such as (1) employment, (2) education, (3) healthcare, (4) government assistance, and (5) discrimination but also suggested the theoretical Model of Assimilation/Integration of Immigrants (MAI). The proposed model could explain not only why immigrants cannot integrate easily into the host society but also some other futures of their behavior. The model indicates the possibility for quantification of assimilation/integration itself and thus, provides an opportunity for further comparison of degrees of assimilation in between population groups

ADVERSITY QUOTIENT®, EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF FILIPINO STUDENT-PARENTS
This study is descriptive-correlational research aimed to determine the significant relationship between Emotional Quotient, Adversity Quotient®, and the Academic Performance of Student-Parents. Chi-Square Test was utilized to test the significant relationship among variables. Purposive sampling was employed since there are only thirty (30) identified student-parents enrolled in the university. The General Weighted Average (GWA) during the second semester of AY 2016-2017 of the respondents was used to determine their academic performance. Based on the findings of the study, the majority of the student-parents are in their late 20’s and early 30’s, female, Education students, in their lower year, and have 1 – 2 children. These results suggest that the student-parents are in their matured ages since almost all of them are returnees. The respondents reported that they have a high level of emotional quotient. Therefore, the study revealed that there is no significant relationship among student-parents’ emotional quotient, adversity quotient, and academic performance. Hence, researchers fail to reject the null hypothesis. The researchers strongly recommended that the university should devise a program for student-parents dealing with life adversities. Similar studies may be conducted to explore more studies concerning adversity quotient® using other variables not included in this study
