“SLOW LEARNERS- A UNIVERSAL PROBLEM AND PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO THEM TO BE A SUCCESSFUL LEARNER”
Education plays an important role in a country's development. Parents strongly feel that learning should be cultivated among their children. A teacher can make this become true with his teaching efficiency. But sometimes they may fail to do such due to different reasons. There are different types of learners such as fast learners, average learners, and slow learners. This learning difficulty may arise from poor memory, unawareness about the importance of education and lack of fundamental knowledge and psychological factors. If the teacher can bring out the children's inner talents through the use of different conditions, slow learners will be happier at learning. This article tries to solve this universal problem by applying an inspiring quote from the universal scientist Albert Einstein saying "I never teach my pupils. I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn". Data was collected through the Case study method. Counseling was used as a tool for their enhancement. The major finding was that slow learners were more successful by providing suitable conditions and educational opportunities to them
CORRELATES OF SELF-CONCEPT, ATTITUDE AND MATHEMATICS PERFORMANCE OF SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NIGERIA
The study investigated the correlates of senior students’ mathematics self-concept, attitude, and mathematics performance in secondary school level of Nigeria. The population comprised all the secondary school students from the six states in Northeast, Nigeria. From the population, a total of 589 students were sampled from 18 schools purposively selected from four out of the six states in the zone. The instruments employed for the data collections were Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) and a Mathematics Self-concept and Attitude Scale (MSCAS). The instruments were validated and the reliability was determined through test re-test method. Using Cronbach alpha analysis, high reliability coefficients of 0.83and 0.915 were obtained for MAT and MSCAS respectively. The statistical tools used in testing the hypotheses were t-test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the findings revealed that the students’ self-concept correlates significantly with their attitude; and relationship exists significantly among students’ self-concept, attitude and their performance. It was recommended among other things that students’ mathematics self-concept and attitude be improved in schools by making the teaching of mathematics practical oriented such that students see it interesting and pleasurable

PEER TUTORING: EXPLORING THE EFFECTS ON LEARNING GRADE 9 MATHEMATICS
This descriptive-comparative study aimed to develop session plans with learning activities for peer tutoring on quadratic equations. It involved five classes of Grade 9 students of Bantayan National High School, Tabaco City, Albay, Philippines wherein one class was randomly selected as the peer tutored group while the remaining four classes were considered the non-peer tutored groups. The peer tutoring sessions were conducted during the Independent/Cooperative Learning (ICL) period. The sources of data included the students’ reflection entries, observation notes, responses from focus group discussions, and periodic examination results. Findings showed that there were nine session plans with learning activities developed with the integration of cooperative and contextualized learning approaches. The peer tutors were able to master the lessons since they have the opportunity to study it again and revise what they have learned. They also gained more friends, boosted their confidence, and became more interested and enthusiastic in learning and teaching Mathematics together with their peer tutees. On the other hand, the peer tutees grasped the lessons because their tutor gave immediate feedback to them. They also learned how to cooperate and participate with their group to achieve their goal. It was also showed that the peer tutees were very much engaged and eager to learn during the peer tutoring. These were some of the significant learning experiences of the peer tutors and peer tutees during the conduct of peer tutoring. In terms of performance, based on the results of their periodic examination, the peer tutored group had a better performance than those non-peer tutored groups. The session plans with learning activities for peer tutoring were then concluded to give benefits in the learning experiences and enhanced the Mathematics performance of the learners
FACTORS AFFECTING CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IN INTERNATIONAL HOTELS IN CHENZHOU CITY, CHINA
The significance of the customer satisfaction management in the hotel industry has been demonstrated by many researchers in the past decades. This study determined the relationship between five key factors (hotel facilities, service capability, service efficiency, service attitude, and breakfast) to the degree of the customer satisfaction with the hotel. These factors were conceptualized from the five dimensions of tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy in the SERVQUAL model proposed by Parasuraman, Zeithamal & Berry (1988). Empirical research was conducted in one of the international hotels in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, China, focusing on the hotel’s customer satisfaction management. The data were taken from the two online reservation websites that reviewed the hotel based on the SERVQUAL model from 2017 to 2018. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between the five key factors and the degree of customer satisfaction based on about 1,500 online comments. Only two (service capability and service attitude) of the five key factors turned out to have significant positive effects on the customer satisfaction in this hotel. Two other factors (hotel facilities and breakfast) have no significant positive effects, while service efficiency has an unexpected no significant negative effect on this hotel’s customer satisfaction. This study offers some suggestions for improving the future decision-making for the customer satisfaction management of this hotel and also provides a guide for other enterprises experiencing the similar situation with the mutual benefits for avoiding the mistakes in customer satisfaction management so as to improve the overall performance of the hotel
