REFLECTION ON TEACHING A POSTGRADUATE, PROJECT-BASED LEARNING COURSE WITH DIVERSE DISCIPLINES
This paper is a teaching reflection on the delivery of the postgraduate, project-based learning (PBL) engineering course (subject) that is common to five Masters of Engineering program at School of Engineering, RMIT. The data was sourced from end-of-semester surveys of the perceptions of students who completed the course between 2017, when we taught the course for the first time, and 2019. The analysis showed substantial improvements in overall satisfaction, percentage of agreement on the project-based learning helping students to work well with peers, and percentage of agreement that students became more able to apply the theories to practice. The mastery in teaching such a course, especially when the students from various disciplines are involved, demands an adaptive teaching approach wherein the instructors or teachers experiment to continuously improve on the shortcomings in subsequent offerings to enhance the students’ learning experience. A PBL course that is well-designed, well-supported, well-implemented, and well-taught can engage students by improving their comprehension, helping them to work well with peers, improving their communication, and assisting them to apply theories to real application or practice
LESSONS IN GRADE 10 MATHEMATICS FOR USE IN A FLIPPED CLASSROOM
Low-performance, insufficient instruction time and difficulty in providing instructional needs for diverse learners are some of the prevalent problems in mathematics education. Flipped Classroom is a rising pedagogical model that exhibits promising features in battling these dilemmas. This study aimed to develop lessons that integrates flipped classroom, uses student collaboration and incorporates contexts from students' culture and experiences. Mainly, this study provided ways on how teachers from rural areas with less technological accessibility, can implement this instructional model through the use of materials and platforms available in their community. The mixed method of research was used. Qualitative approach was utilized in the analysis of students’ responses in their interviews and journals and the quantitative approach was done through pre-experimental design. Interviews to teachers and analysis of available data in the chosen school were done to know which topics are to be included in the study. The identified topics were examined to develop lessons that are best suited for the use of the model to Grade 10 Geometry. Ten lessons were made and implemented to a Grade 10 class to determine its effect on their task performance, conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Effects on study habits and interest were determined using interviews, journals and inventory. Results show that there is a significant difference on the performance of the students, within the considered constructs, before and after being exposed to flipped classroom. Moreover, positive change on responding to tasks, greater initiative to take part and higher interest levels were also revealed. The implementation of flipped classroom has deepen their understanding, positively affected the way they perceive and react to tasks, boost their interest and taught learners the accountability of their own learning. Additionally, availability of learning resources at home and support from knowledgeable others are important factors that help improve students’ performance
THE EFFECT OF THE COLLABORATIVE TECHNOLOGY-ENHANCED ACTIVITIES ON STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION
The collaborative technology-enhanced activities developed for Algorithm Calculation course in Medical engineering subject-discipline and Computer Workshop courses in two Computer and IT engineering subject-disciplines in two consecutive semesters. Mixed-method research design was used in this study .Content of each course was used in order to develop the activities. Motivational Strategies for Leaning Questionnaire (MSLQ) was utilized for collecting quantitative data while qualitative data was collected using interview protocol for further investigation. The analyses showed that the “intrinsic value” was the category with the higher mean score for all students with three different subject-disciplines which is followed by cognitive strategy use. Moreover, the results showed that the students’ level of anxiety decreased after using the activities. Analysis of interview data showed that the students emphasized on the role of activities in terms of increasing their “collaboration” with their peers and instructor. Moreover, they perceived that the activities make the course more interesting for them. They also explained that using computerized devices especially mobile ones facilitated their communication and material-sharing.

EXAMINING ASEAN OUR EYES DEALING WITH REGIONAL CONTEXT IN COUNTER TERRORISM, RADICALISM, AND VIOLENT EXTREMISM
ASEAN currently contends with the global context emerging dynamically which brings about multidimensional challenges and threats. Dealing with this circumstances, ASEAN member states strengthen its capacity by enhancing regional cooperation and strategic information exchange among ASEAN member states so-called ASEAN Our Eyes. This initiative adopted for the sake of forestalling any possible threat posed by terrorism, radicalism, and violent extremism through timely strategic information exchange among ASEAN member states. This study will be analyzed with Regional Security Complex and International Cooperation theories to examine ASEAN Our Eyes based on its Terms of Reference (TOR). By using a qualitative method, the result of this study portrays that ASEAN Our Eyes is able to undermine the gaps in the realm of strategic information exchange in monitoring the movement of foreign terrorist fighters, violent extremists, radicals, and crime-terror nexus. However, it remains premature as a strategic measure to encounter those threats in the upcoming years.

THE NOTION OF HUMAN FREEDOM AND ITS IMPLICATION IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY
A major problematic concept in our world today is that of freedom which has gained prominence into mainstream discussions. Everyone craves freedom, since “it is only in freedom that man realizes his being” yet only a few think about the responsibilities of freedom. Here we encounter the problems inherent in the possibility of human free choice of actions as preordained by forces beyond his control and opposed to his will, the reconciliation of our answers to human freedom with our acknowledgment of objective necessity, and whether humans are not means of realizing the laws of social development. These and many more puzzles point to the fact that the problem of freedom has remained a perennial one down the ages. Freedom is a distinctive quality of man from other beings. A man beyond being intelligent is also free in his actions and deliberations in the face of decisions and choices. This article hence takes a critical look at the concept of Freedom. Adopting a critical methodological outlook from Satrean dimension, it exposes its nature and pays particular attention to its attendant consequences in our society today.
AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON PARENTS' CHOICES APPLY ON ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY OF T SCHOOL IN BEIJING

In one hand, the system of public school education cannot be recognized and satisfied by parents, and alternative education is one of the replacements. Through ethnographic research, the author participated in school activities, interview parents and micro-school APP interaction simultaneously, and use snowball sampling method to expand the depth and breadth of interviews. The purpose of this paper is to find out the differences between the school-running visions declared by schools verses the educational choices applied to parents. Try to classify what kind of parents will choose alternative education, and to reflect on the public education reform through their practices
EXPLORATIVE STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOR OF POCA PARTICIPANTS IN THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE
The Prevention of Crime Act (POCA) 2014 is an act enacted to deal with criminal activities such as gangs, organized crime, drugs, and human trafficking. The Act is intended to regulate criminals, gangsters, and individuals who threaten national security and related matters. Even though there are a lot of awareness programs was conducted by the government, the number of offenders under POCA still increased. The offenders of POCA has a lack of awareness about his future life and goals so that it's easy to get into the crime. The purpose of this study is to explore the behavior of the participant under the crime prevention act (POCA) based on the theory of Reality. This study used a quasi-experimental qualitative method. An interview was conducted with a randomly selected participant under this Act who received a restraining order at the Police Station, Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia. In this interview session, the researcher explored the participant's experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The participant got benefits from this interview session. The participant gains awareness plans for the future, and be aware of the mistakes made. Participant also has thought to change negative behaviors into positive ones after this interview session. In the future, researchers can observe the offenders’ behavior after job placement. Job-related programs will help POCA participants to get awareness and achieve their goals in life
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MODULE DIGITAL YOUTH (DY) AS YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH CRIME AWARENESS: A CASE STUDY OF SOUTH MALAYSIA
Throughout the world, crime is predominantly devastating among the youth age group, and such is the case in the Malaysian context. Studies have shown that some youth get involved in crime unknowingly especially crimes involving cyberbullying, spousal physical violence, forced intimacy, and verbal abuse simply because of lack of knowledge on what is considered a crime. The issue of crime affects the youth themselves, their families, and the community at large. It is against this background that the study shares the concept of raising awareness on crime amongst youth’s cybercrime, drug abuse, and sexual abuse through the digital youth program. The study was guided by the structural functionalism theory. The research took a quantitative quasi-cross-sectional study design and raised awareness among 100 students between the ages of 18-23 (emerging adults) at College Genius, Klang, Selangor, divided into the experimental group and the control group. The ratings of awareness projects can be assessed before and after using police standardized crime awareness appraisal questionnaire. Results of the study show a significant difference in crime knowledge before and after intervention for the experimental group and no difference significant for the control group after the intervention highlighting the Digital Youth Program to be significant in raising awareness on crime to the youth. The study recommends for future studies to expand the Digital Youth Program to various parts of Malaysia among the youth
THE CURRENT SITUATION OF MASTICATORY BEHAVIOR OF FIRST GRADER AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MASTICATORY ABILITY AND STUDENTS’ LIKES AND DISLIKES
Twenty percent of first-graders of a public elementary school in Kanagawa Prefecture were unable to masticate school lunch properly. Teachers encouraged masticate training at school, but it showed no improvement. The purpose of this research was to investigate the characteristics of mastication to find possible methods and more specific mastication education. The subjects were 100 first graders(6~7years old) at public elementary school where school lunch was served with an individual tray. The survey was conducted during school lunchtime by recording the bread crust eating situation. Every student was provided with 8g of bread crust cut into three equal parts. Within one month, on the days when kibinago (herring-like forage fish), cabbage, potatoes, curry rice, bonito, and komatsuna (Japanese Spinach) were served, the subjects were asked about their “Likes or Dislikes” and the food was “Easy to Masticate or Hard to Masticate”.The average of masticatory time during eating bread crust was 76 seconds, the maximum was 151 seconds, and the minimum was 19 seconds. The average of masticatory frequency was 72 times, the maximum was 155 times and the minimum was 27 times. The average masticatory speed was 58 beats per minute (bpm), the fastest was 113 bpm and the slowest was 29 bpm. The most favorite dish was curry rice (99%) and the least favorite dishes were kibinago and bonito (13%, respectively). The highest percentage (27%) of the subjects answered bonito dish as “Hard to Masticate” and the lowest percentage (1%) was curry rice. “Dislike” was significantly associated with “Hard to Masticate” in cabbage (p<0.01) and bonito (p<0.01). The first graders had individual differences in masticatory behavior. It was suggested that “Likes and Dislikes” are related to masticatory ability. If the children practice the mastication of solid foods before entering school, the children might eat more smoothly
