INCIDENCE OF JOB MISMATCH AMONG TVL GRADUATES IN BUTUAN CITY, PHILIPPINES
Landing a job is one of the expected outcomes behind the huge investment of Philippine education in the implementation of Technical Vocation and Livelihood (TVL). But job far from TVL specialization is a failure to the curriculum. This study assesses the incidence of job mismatch among employed pioneering batches (2018 and 2019) of TVL graduates in Butuan, City Philippines. Factors of job mismatch are also analyzed. A total of 269 employed TVL graduates were surveyed using a researcher-made questionnaire. Statistical analysis reveals a 64% (171) mismatch incidence. Logistic regression analysis further shows that national certification, faculty and instruction, job experience, workers compensation, and family support are significant factors to job mismatch incidence. The study concludes that mismatch between job and skill is highly evident. The findings of this study serve as bases in the creation of intervention initiatives that will improve the implementation of the TVL program
BEYOND THE SPICE: THE EARLY CONSUMPTION OF CINNAMON
Cinnamon is an extraordinary commodity which has come to represent Sri Lankan culture far beyond its economic value. As a plant that is native to the island, cinnamon has a long-standing association with Sri Lankan culture and identity. Its unique aroma and medicinal and edible qualities have for centuries enabled it to capture the imaginations of individuals and empires. Cinnamon has been used as a multi-purpose spice due to its medicinal, preservative and edible qualities. The focus of this paper is an investigation of the early consumption of cinnamon around the world, beyond the shores of Sri Lanka. This study will provide a better understanding of cinnamon that goes beyond the cookery pot, whether as a spice in curries, or a flavour in baking. This discussion of cinnamon as something more than an attractive spice extends to comments about its cultural value and meaning, rather than its commercial value
ANALYSIS ON CONSTRAINTS OF LOCAL AND NATIONAL LANGUAGE USING IN LATE ADOLESCENCE IN NORTH SUMATRA
Indonesia is famous for its rich and varied language culture which is influenced by the cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and customs of each region. From 718 local languages in Indonesia, there are 5 of them in North Sumatra, namely: Batak, Nias, Minang, Java, and Malay language. Therefore, national language is needed to unite the various tribes, especially for late adolescence in their daily activities both those from city to village or from village to city. This difficulty was the basis of our research to analyze the constraints of using two languages (local and national) in late adolescence in North Sumatra, Indonesia. This research used qualitative research with interview and observation techniques for 5 late-adolescent samples consisting of 2 people from city to village; 3 people from the village to city conducted for 1 month from 10 November to 10 December 2019 by looking at their daily lives in adapting to an environment that is not their original place. As a result, researchers found the constraints in the use of local and national language in North Sumatra, such as basic sentence patterns, language intonation, dialect, cultural background, and habits.

ON THE USE OF MODERN APPLICATIONS IN ENGLISH CLASS
Recently, more and more modern applications have been applied to the English learning class, among which the most outstanding ones are the ‘The Rain Classroom’ and ‘The Super Star’. The first one, ‘The Rain Classroom’ is a mini-program in Wechat, through which the students can get connected to the teacher directly; they can do homework online and express their ideas on the class’ screen simultaneously. The second one, ‘The Super Star’ is an application that the students have to download on the mobile-phone, and then they can scan the teachers’ material and assignment in the app. In this essay, in order to make a comparison between the two apps, the author tries to carry an investigation and an experiment into the students, so as to find a better way of using the modern applications, in which case, can attract the students’ attention, arouse their interest and guarantee their speaking and writing hours at the same time. Furthermore, more scholars can get a better understanding of these two apps through the essay, and the producers of the app will be able to make some adjustment to them timely. This essay will form a new viewpoint on the multimedia English teaching in China, even in the world
STUDENT’S PERCEPTION TOWARDS THE APPROPRIATENESS OF PHRASE- PICTURE-MATCH- ANALYSIS AS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL IN TEACHING SAMPLING TECHNIQUES
The senior high teachers on its third year of implementation in the Philippines become more confident on designing an appropriate material to be used as instructional material that aided on the transfer of learning, especially in the line of teaching Practical Research I (Qualitative Research). With the challenges at hand, and the passion to teach, the researchers created an instructional material to easily understand the meaning behind the different sampling techniques. Being aware that most learners are classified as visuals with regards to their preference on learning, the researchers made and designed the Phrase-Picture-Match-Activity (PPMA) to understand the concept involve on the Different Sampling Techniques. To test the appropriateness of each Phrase and Illustrations chosen, the teachers communicated to the learners and coded their responses and come up with better suggestions, to better fit the design suited to the way how they wanted to learn
INTEGRATING HOTS USING SPIDER WEB MULTIPLICATION IN BASIC MULTIPLICATION FACTS
The traditional methods are commonly practiced in the learning of basic multiplication facts in schools. These kinds of learning usually emphasizing on memorization and repetition. These methods do not encourage pupils' to think and do not improve their thinking skills. This action research was conducted to study whether the integration of HOTS by using Spider Web Multiplication model improve the primary school basic multiplication facts ability among the School In Hospital (SIH) pupils in Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar, Johor, Malaysia. The study is also carried out to study whether the integration of HOTS in the model improve the pupils’ interest and motivation to learn basic multiplication facts. Five pupils ranging from lower to upper primary pupils are selected randomly. The pre and post-test were used to determine the pupils’ skill in basic multiplication facts. Meanwhile observations were carried out to gather information of the learning process. Furthermore informal interviews were carried out to know the pupils’ interest and motivation in learning basic multiplication facts after the learning sessions. The result of the pre and the post test revealed that the pupils’ ability in basics multiplication facts improved after the learning session. The observations showed that the integration of HOTS in the learning activities involving analyzing, designing, combining, identifying and creating in the learning process help the pupils a lot in the learning of basic multiplication facts. The pupils’ interest and motivation in learning basic multiplication facts also improved. Based on the findings, the integration of HOTS which was used in Spider Web Multiplication is recommended in teaching of basic mathematical facts

SMALLHOLDER FARMERS’ ADAPTATION TO RAINFALL VARIABILITY IN NORTHERN GHANA
Irregular rainfall pattern pose challenges to smallholder farmers in Ghana, especially, those in the Northern Region, who risk losing their major source of livelihood as a result of the devastating impacts of climate change. To ensure food and livelihood security, smallholder farmers adopt indigenous and modern soil and water conservation strategies. This study therefore examined the influencing factors of adaptation to irregular rainfall pattern and the challenges therein. A cross sectional data of 140 households from five (5) randomly selected districts in the Northern region of Ghana was used. Results of a Negative Binomial Regression showed that access to extension services and credit positively influenced the number of adaptation strategies to irregular rainfall pattern. Also, quantity harvested, gender and age negatively influenced the number of adaptation strategies adopted by a farmer. Consistently, lack of credit was the first major constraint to climate adaptation among the farmers. The study recommends that extension services, credit facilities as well as education of smallholder farmers should be intensified to promote adaptation to the rainfall patterns in the region. Also, government’s effort is needed in developing irrigation facilities to aid smallholder farmers to offset the potential effects of climate change. Overall, this study provides suggestions to policy makers on how to improve climate adaptation in the region. Future studies should examine forms and effectiveness of climate change communication, since effective communication is imperative to the adoption of modern agricultural practices

REVIVING FRENCH ARPITAN: RECOMMENDATIONS TO REVITALIZATION EFFORTS
Arpitan, also known as Francoprovençal, is a severely endangered regional language with around 120,000-200,000 speakers, spoken at the crossroads of France, Italy, and Switzerland. This paper is a review of the literature on the current linguistic situation of Arpitan. It first presents an overview of current Arpitan revitalization efforts, along with potential impediments and favorable conditions of revitalization. At last, it proposes consultative advice on where to direct Arpitan revitalization efforts and how. Previous literature on Arpitan focuses mainly on the vitality of the language and its usage; however, there is an insufficient analysis on behalf of revitalization efforts. Thus, this paper, written from an outsider’s perspective, aims to bridge the gap between linguistic knowledge and practical advice on revitalization. This review could be potentially useful as a reference for Arpitan activists in France as they plan revitalization projects. It is hoped that the paper would update the linguistic community on the status of Arpitan and inform Arpitan revitalization activists from a third-party point of view
