ASSESSMENT OF SUCCESS INDICATORS ASSOCIATED WITH MANUFACTURING IC CHIPS IN INDIAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
Integrated circuit plays a crucial role in reducing the size, increasing the processing speed, and enhancing the dependability on the electronic devices. Notably, the widespread use of these technologies has led to advancements in various sectors, including the communications, healthcare, and automobile industry. This study rank and identifies the critical success indicators associated with the manufacturing IC chips in the Indian semiconductor industry by employing one sample t-test approach. Based on the existing literature, the study investigates sixteen success indicators associated with the manufacturing IC chips in India. In addition, experts from the semiconductor manufacturing organization have validated these factors concerning the Indian semiconductor industry. The research concludes that “Monitor the Time-to-Market (SI7)”, “Enhance Customer Satisfaction (SI13)”, “Assess the Yield Rate (SI11)”, and “Calculate the Return on Investment (ROI) for Cost (SI5)”, are the critical success indicators associated with manufacturing of IC chips, as per the t-test analysis from 152 respondents working in the semiconductor sectors. The findings have multiple implications for businesses and policymaker, and can assist various stakeholders, including global semiconductor companies, domestic manufacturers, and fabless semiconductor firm
COPYRIGHT ISSUE IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS OF SMART PRODUCTION AND AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS
Background: In recent years, the use of artificial intelligence in the field of production and design has increased. As a result, in smart production and autonomous systems, the concepts of copyright and rights ownership on the works produced have become increasingly complex. In addition, there is no sufficient legal regulation regarding the rights of the software side of the system, the content providers and the commercial parties with whom they have agreements, in the productions made by autonomous systems through artificial intelligence software. In addition to the ownership of the work, the copyright of the elements in the content of the work and those who produce these elements also emerge as an important problem in productions made with artificial intelligence.
Purpose of Study: In this study, it is aimed to examine the copyright issue in artificial intelligence applications of smart production and autonomous systems.
Sources of Evidence: In the research, a literature review was conducted and semiotic analysis and content analysis were conducted based on academic studies. According to the results obtained, analyzes were made regarding the deficiencies in copyright and the main problems arising from field applications in smart production and autonomous systems made through artificial intelligence.
Main Argument: The main argument of the research is that copyright is an important problem in both the short and long term in smart production and autonomous systems produced through artificial intelligence.
Conclusions: Although DSM Directive 2019/790/EU, which was issued in 2016 and came into force in 2019, regulates digital copyrights, there are serious deficiencies regarding the ownership of the system or work and the legal regulations regarding smart productions and autonomous systems produced through artificial intelligence. While DSM Directive 2019/790/EU targets a uniform digital market, the copyright issue in artificial intelligence applications shows that this regulation is also inadequate. Regarding the AI Act, there is not yet sufficient regulation or implementation data regarding copyrights. The United States Copyright Office published in 2023 points out similar deficiencies in artificial intelligence and copyrights. Existing copyright regulations are insufficient today, especially for smart products produced by autonomous systems. One of the most important sources of the problem is that the work, its ownership, the types of work, and the commercial and moral values of the work are not fully defined. For a solution, comprehensive and advanced studies are needed regarding the copyrights of artificial intelligence
BUSINESS STRATEGY, ACCOUNTING CONSERVATISM, TAX AGGRESSIVENESS
Different from literature studying the bi-variable relation between business strategy and accounting conservatism as well as tax aggressiveness, this research provides original ideas exploring the relation among business strategy and accounting conservatism through tax aggressiveness. Using the Taiwan data including high-technology and traditional industries, our results indicate that first, prospector companies are more tax aggressive, and are more accounting conservative than defender ones. Secondly, the positive effect of business strategy on accounting conservatism holds through increasing tax aggressiveness (reducing tax payment), implying prospector companies with more tax aggressiveness are more accounting conservatism than defender ones with less tax aggressiveness. Thirdly, the positive effect of strategy on conservatism through increasing tax aggressiveness in high-tech firms is stronger than that in traditional ones. This implies that compared to traditional firms, high-technology firms can more strengthen this positive effect through tax aggressiveness. Fourthly, this paper highlights the role of tax aggressiveness in driving association between business strategy and conservative accounting. Finally, our results are analogous to Higgins et al. (2015) and Hsieh et al. (2019)’s findings of U.S. sample companies, implying that some characteristics of Taiwan companies (e.g., access to capital market, tax deductibility of investment in R&D) appear to be similar to particularities of U.S. firms. THE HISTORY FORMATION OF THE SCIENCE OF ABAI STUDIES
The article will focus on the history of the formation of one of the fundamental branches of Kazakh literary science – Abay studies. An overview of the history of the formation and study of the history of Abay studies is made, scientific works that have shown the heritage of Abay in different years are analyzed. In the main part, a brief analysis of the history of Abai's knowledge, the study of the poet's heritage in general, a lot of scientifically valuable historical facts are analyzed. Through the work of scientists studying the history of Abay studies, the personality and civic identity of the poet are revealed. After studying the research of research scientists in research works and monographs, the importance and effectiveness of the modern discipline of Abay studies is shown. The history of the study and the stages of the formation of Abay studies are differentiated in modern times, when the degree of research of data on the heritage of Abay is increasing. Starting with M. Auezov, who brought Abay studies into the scientific system, based on the works of Y. Mustambayevich, K. Zhubanov, B. Kenzhebayev, K. Zhumaliyev, Z. Akhmetov, K. Mukhamedkhanov, M. Myrzakhmetuly, it is necessary to look at the history of the formation of Abay studies and analyze the works of the independence period from a new angle
EXAMINING INTERRELATED DRIVING FORCES FOR SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT: Received: 08th August 2023, Revised: 28th November 2023, 5th December 2023, 19th December 2023, Accepted: 24th August 2023
This research is part of a comprehensive project whose goal is to analyze and activate the interconnected elements within the education system that foster student empowerment in the Sultanate of Oman. The project proposed that sustained enhancements in the education system hinge on a collection of interlinked subsystems or factors that collectively boost overall school performance and student learning (Osman, 2023). The primary aim of this investigation was to scrutinize the interrelated elements capable of expanding the educational environment and contributing to long-lasting improvements in schools. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The study's sample comprised 110 educators and administrators from the participating experimental schools. The results indicate that the 13 factors examined in the proposed model make significant contributions to viable school improvement. Nevertheless, the importance of these factors varies from one to another. Based on these findings, it can be argued that activating all interrelated elements within the education system is imperative for achieving enduring improvements in student learning over time. Therefore, it is crucial to systemically enhance the performance of all interconnected factors within the education system
TEACHING JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY TO CHINESE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: DEVELOPING ENGLISH LEARNING MATERIALS : Received: 25th January 2024 Revised: 21st February 2024, 27th February 2024, 29th February 2024 Accepted: 25th January 2024
This study is a preliminary study for creating teaching materials for the development of global human resources who can communicate their own (Japanese) culture, such as the tea ceremony, to the world in English. This study aims to clarify what foreigners are interested in, what they find important, and what they would like to know more about the tea ceremony to create teaching materials reflecting foreigners’ interests and concerns. The results indicated that the participating students enjoyed hands-on activities, such as actually preparing and drinking tea and learning how to eat wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), even in an online environment. Furthermore, some students demonstrated interest not only in hands-on experiences but also in the history of the tea ceremony, distinctions between Japanese and Chinese tea cultures, and various aspects of the tea ceremony, including tea, tea utensils, traditional clothing (kimono), and the differences among tea ceremony schools. Based on these findings, it is recommended to create educational materials for Japanese university students learning the tea ceremony in English that cover not only the fundamental etiquette of the tea ceremony, but also provide comprehensive knowledge about the broader aspects of the tea ceremony
OPTIMIZING LEARNING: A META-ANALYSIS OF TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES IN UNIVERSITY EDUCATION
Effective time management skills are essential for academic success in university education. However, the literature lacks a comprehensive synthesis of time management strategies across diverse academic disciplines and the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods in promoting these skills. This meta-analysis aims to address this gap by systematically synthesizing empirical evidence from a wide range of scholarly sources, including peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and educational reports, to provide a nuanced understanding of the significance of time management in university education. Grounded in established theoretical frameworks such as the Time Management Behavior Theory and the Goal Setting Theory, this study offers a robust theoretical foundation for examining the interplay between time management strategies, academic performance outcomes, and pedagogical approaches in tertiary education settings. Variables and Conceptual Framework: Key variables under scrutiny include various time management interventions, academic performance metrics, and pedagogical innovations. The conceptual framework integrates principles from cognitive load theory and self-regulated learning to elucidate the mechanisms through which time management strategies influence student learning outcomes. Employing a meta-analysis approach, this study systematically synthesizes quantitative data from previous research to identify patterns, trends, and effect sizes. Meta-regression techniques are applied to explore potential moderating variables, while thematic analysis is used to extract common themes and best practices across different academic contexts. Findings and Conclusions: The meta-analysis reveals compelling evidence of a positive correlation between effective time management strategies and improved academic performance across diverse academic disciplines. Furthermore, innovative teaching methodologies that integrate time management principles into course curricula are found to significantly enhance student engagement, motivation, and overall learning outcomes. In light of these findings, the study advocates for the widespread adoption of tailored pedagogical approaches aimed at cultivating time management skills among university students, thereby empowering them to navigate the complexities of higher education successfully. REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICALS
The Refinery and Petrochemical industry in Nigeria plays a vital role in the country's economy. Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa and has significant oil reserves. The industry involves the refining of crude oil into various petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, as well as the production of petrochemicals used in manufacturing processes. The Nigerian government has been making efforts to revitalize and expand the country's refining and petrochemical capabilities. This includes the construction of new refineries and the rehabilitation of existing ones to increase production capacity and reduce the country's dependence on imported petroleum products. The industry also presents opportunities for job creation and economic growth. It provides employment for a significant number of people, both directly and indirectly, through various stages of the value chain. Additionally, the development of petrochemical facilities can attract investments and contribute to the growth of other industries in Nigeria. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, security concerns, and regulatory issues need to be addressed to fully harness the potential of the Refinery and Petrochemical industry in Nigeria
MILK YIELD, MILK COMPOSITION AND BLOOD METABOLITE PROFILES IN DAIRY COWS SUPPLEMENTED WITH VITAMIN D ENRICHED YEAST
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of vitamin D enriched yeast supplementation on milk performance, vitamin D content in milk, and blood metabolite profiles. Six crossbred Holstein Friesian cows were randomly allocated to treatment by using a 3 x 3 Double Latin square design, including a control group (T1), 5 g live yeast supplementation (T2), and 5 g vitamin D enriched yeast supplementation (160,000 IU/head/day; T3). Milk and blood samples were collected on days 28 of each trail period, for analyzing milk composition, vitamin D content in milk, and blood metabolite profiles. The result showed that the vitamin D enriched yeast supplementation group had 25-hydroxyvitamin D2 concentration in blood significantly higher than other comparable groups (64.27 compared to 47.39 and 49.31 ng/ml, respectively; P < 0.01). There were no significant differences between treatments for milk yield or ECM yield and milk composition but the vitamin D enriched yeast supplementation group had significantly higher vitamin D content in milk than the T1 and T2 groups (690.83 compared to 562.83 and 529.48 ng/1000mL, respectively; P < 0.01). NEUROTROPHINS, TRK-RECEPTORS AND CALCIUM BINDING PROTEIN LOCALIZATION IN MECHANOSENSORY SYSTEMS AND RETINA OF NOTHOBRANCHIUS GUENTHERI
Neurotrophins are growth factors playing a crucial role in the survival, differentiation, development, and plasticity of neurons. They exert their effects by binding to specific receptors (Trks) in the central and peripheral nervous systems, including sensory organs. Calcium-binding proteins (CaBPs) are also present in these systems. They are involved in essential physiological functions related to calcium ions, such as nerve impulse transmission, neurogenesis, synaptic plasticity, and transmission. Further, CaBPs are supposed to be involved in neuron protection. Neurotrophins and CaBPs perform their roles in various vertebrates, including fish. Nonetheless, based on existing knowledge, there is no record of the presence of neurotrophins in the sensory organs of Nothobranchius guentheri. Due to its relatively short lifespan, N. guentheri has emerged as a valuable model for aging studies, holding significant relevance in the field of translational medicine. As a teleost, its sensory systems share several morphological and functional similarities with mammals, including humans. However, unlike mammals, fish sensory organs keep the regeneration capability. In light of this, the present research sought to identify the neurotrophin-receptor systems and calcium-binding proteins (CaBPs) in the mechanosensory organs and retina of N. guentheri. Utilizing immunoperoxidase, single, and double immunofluorescence methods, the investigation unveiled the localization of neurotrophins and CaBPs in the inner ear, neuromasts of the lateral line system, and retinal cells of N. guentheri. This newfound information indicates the influence of these proteins on the biology of N. guentheri, reinforcing its suitability as a model for aging studies. The implications of these findings could significantly contribute to research on age-related neurodegeneration within the realm of translational medicine
