INVESTIGATE THE CRITICAL FACTORS OF SUCCESSFUL GREEN COSMETICS MARKETING
Developing effective marketing strategies for successfully green cosmetic marketing is critical for strengthening a company’s competitive advantage and performance. This research adopts the more comprehensive factors and emphasizes the perspectives of senior managers, utilizes the DANP method proposed by Ou Yang et al. (2008) which combines DEMATEL and ANP to examine the major factors of successful green cosmetic marketing. Firstly, the fourteen evaluation criteria are extracted from past literature and are classified into four clusters; then consult with ten scholars/experts; finally, interview with ten senior managers of green cosmetic companies The research results show that the Perceived Value Cluster is the main influence source and The Strategy Diamond Cluster plays as the central role among the four clusters. For green cosmetic companies, the top three priority criteria show that the crucial aspect of business strategy is to identify the means to generate returns by achieving superior quality and a distinctive image across the value chain. To secure a competitive advantage, green cosmetic companies can effectively distinguish themselves from competitors by employing differentiation strategies and prioritizing eco-friendly products to appeal to environmentally conscious customers. Green cosmetic companies focus on product quality, implements differentiation strategies, and prioritizes eco-friendly products. This approach not only meets the rising consumer demand for environmentally conscious products but also enhances the brand's competitive advantage in the market
CAREGIVING IN CANCER: THE DUAL PATH OF STRESS AND GROWTH
This study utilized a quantitative approach to examine the relationship between social support and the experiences of stress and growth among caregivers of cancer patients in Morocco. Employing a cross-sectional design, data were gathered from caregivers using validated measures of perceived stress, social support, and post-traumatic growth. Regression analyses demonstrated that higher levels of emotional and instrumental social support were significantly associated with reduced stress and increased post-traumatic growth among caregivers. These findings highlight the protective role of strong social support networks in alleviating caregiving stress and fostering positive psychological outcomes. The study underscores the need for interventions aimed at strengthening social support systems for caregivers, particularly within the Moroccan context, where cultural and social dynamics play a significant role in caregiving experiences
BLENDED CORRECTIVE FEEDBACK: THE IMPACT OF AI TOOL USAGE ON LEARNING MOTIVATION AND EFL WRITING PERFORMANCE
As information and communication technology (ICT) advances at a rapid pace in the twenty-first century, the use of AI writing assistant tool presents a promising solution to address deficiencies in EFL students’ writing ability. A blended corrective feedback (BCF) mode has thus been developed to enhance English as a foreign language (EFL) students’ writing outcomes by integrating automated corrective feedback (ACF) and face-to-face feedback (FFF). However, some researchers question the efficacy of the BCF learning mode. For example, the ACF system does not address the basic literary constructs such as content, coherence, or structure. Furthermore, traditional face-to-face collaborative learning does not direct students/peers to think, to use knowledge, or to solve problems effectively. Given the lack of agreement on the potential efficacy of BCF application, the purpose of this study was to develop a BCF mode that combined the elements of ACF and FFF in the EFL writing process, as well as to investigate whether the BCF intervention could improve students' English writing performance and whether EFL students were more satisfied in the BCF learning environment. The pretest/posttest experimental design was used in this study, which was conducted in two freshman writing classes in Taiwan. The results revealed that implementing the BCF intervention significantly improved EFL students’ writing scores; however, no significant differences in word length, sentence length, or readability score were discovered. ACF and FFF learning were found to have significant relationships with BCF learning motivation. Surprisingly, no significant relationships were discovered between ACF, FFF, and BCF learning motivation and students' writing performance. Based on the findings of the investigation, pedagogical implications, limitations, and future research directions were identified and discussed
ADVANCED VERSION OF IEEE802.15.6 BASED ON COMPRESSED SENSING FOR INTELLIGENT BODY SENSOR NETWORKS
Intelligent Body Sensor Networks (IBSNs) based on IEEE 802.15.6, have emerged as a key technology to provide wearable wireless health care systems to establish real-time health monitoring algorithms for long-term recording of the vital signals and diagnose many life-threatening diseases. IBSNs allow continuous monitoring of patients at anytime and anywhere in the hospital and help in prevention medicine and early detection of pathologies to improve the quality of life. The IBSN system is also used in different types of wireless healthcare systems, including monitoring patients with chronic disease, patients in hospitals, elderly patients at home, or even real-time monitoring of patients in any kind of environment. In particular, it can be used for establishing a wearable and wireless health care system. The current version of IEEE 802.15.6 is based on conventional sampling approaches which suffers from many samples and power consumption. In addition, it is not enough to support high data rates applications for advanced wearable and wireless healthcare systems. The main purpose of this paper is to present an advanced version of IEEE 802.15.6 based on Compressed Sensing (CS) and focuses the most important features for wearable and wireless healthcare systems to support low data rate, low power consumption wireless communication in, on or around the body. The advanced version of IEEE 802.15 standard based on a CS focus on low complexity, low cost and ultra-low-power consumption infrastructures using a random sensing matrix to establish a wireless communication standard optimized for ultra-low-power in-body/ on-body wireless nodes to serve a variety of wearable and wireless medical applications. The proposed algorithm out-performs existing algorithm by achieving a good level of Quality of Service (QoS) and Signal-to Noise Ratio (S/N) at the receiver of each wireless node. This ability allows reducing 12 % of Average Packet Delay (APD) at the receiver of each wireless node. The proposed architecture is increased 10 % of throughput and 8 % of S/N at the receiver of each wireless node, which provide a good background for establishing high qualified Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs)
ADVANCEMENTS IN DC MICROGRIDS: CONTROL STRATEGIES AND THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
This research explores the resurgence of DC applications in power systems, focusing on the integration of DC microgrids and the effectiveness of control strategies in managing such systems. The research aims to investigate how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance the efficiency of DC microgrids, especially in the context of renewable energy sources (RES) integration. The methodology involves a comprehensive review of existing literature on the evolution of DC and AC power systems, with a particular emphasis on voltage regulation. The research examines various DC microgrid control methods, including centralized, decentralized, distributed, and hierarchical strategies. Special attention is given to the role of AI, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in the tertiary level of hierarchical control, which aims to optimize system performance. The findings highlight the advantages of DC microgrids, particularly their compatibility with RES like Solar Photovoltaics (PV) and energy storage systems, as well as modern electrical appliances. Hierarchical control, with its primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, effectively manages voltage, power sharing, and operational efficiency. The tertiary level of control, when combined with AI technologies, significantly enhances the microgrid's performance through real-time data analysis and predictive decision-making, improving responsiveness and the integration of renewable energy. The research concludes that hierarchical control methods, augmented by AI, enable reliable, stable, and efficient operation of DC microgrids. These strategies improve the coordination of distributed generation, reduce operational costs, and enable participation in energy markets, promoting the sustainability of power systems. Future research should focus on advanced AI algorithms for optimization, exploring scalable control methods for larger microgrids and hybrid AC-DC systems to enhance energy transfer and storage capabilities.
 
CURIOSITY-DRIVEN ENGAGEMENT IN CITIZEN SCIENCE: INVESTIGATING GENDER AND MAJOR DIFFERENCES IN INNOVATION AND SELF-EFFICACY
This study examines the interrelationship between curiosity, science service innovation, self-efficacy, and the continuation intention in citizen science among 226 undergraduate students in Taiwan, including both Science and non-Science majors. All participants had at least two years of citizen science experience. Using structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis, the study explores how curiosity influences students' intentions to continue engaging in citizen science through the mediating roles of innovation and self-efficacy. Additionally, this research investigates gender differences and variations between Science and non-Science majors in terms of science service innovation and self-efficacy. The findings indicate that both innovation and self-efficacy serve as crucial mediators in the relationship between curiosity and the intention to persist in science-related activities. These results highlight the significance of fostering curiosity, promoting innovative practices, and enhancing self-confidence to sustain student involvement in citizen science initiatives. This study contributes to discussions on effective teaching and learning strategies in higher education by emphasizing the importance of cultivating curiosity-driven engagement. By integrating innovative approaches and strengthening self-efficacy, educators can encourage long-term participation in science-related activities. The findings offer practical insights for designing educational interventions that enhance students' motivation, particularly in science fields. Encouraging curiosity and fostering confidence in scientific endeavors can play a pivotal role in shaping future generations of engaged and innovative contributors to citizen science
BLACK MOUNTAIN COLLEGE SEMESTER: (RE) LEARNING EXPERIMENTATION IN ARTS AND CULTURE EDUCATION
Black Mountain College Semester (BMCS) was an interdisciplinary teaching and public education project implemented in 2018 at Appalachian State University in mountainous western North Carolina, USA. BMCS drew over 30,000 attendees and participants despite the rural character of the project area. Based on the experimental pedagogy of the influential Black Mountain College (1934=1963), the ten-month, multi-sited BCMS project sought to create intentional spaces of interdisciplinary collaboration–bringing the humanities, social sciences, arts, and design sciences into conversation–but more importantly, to facilitate the development of experimental cross-disciplinary and academic-public collaborations independently of the project leadership team. This paper offers a brief overview of Black Mountain College, followed by a discussion of the decentralized project design and the analysis of two project case studies. BMCS planning started with the original College principles of experiential and democratic learning philosophy, which invited participation and collaboration across hierarchical academic silos. Fundamentally, the concept of independent inquiry, not specific project outcomes, drove this process. Faculty, administrators, staff, non-profit leaders, educators, and the public contributed to events as varied as exhibitions, public talks, workshops, publications, theater, music, and curriculum design across four project sites. The first case study describes an interdisciplinary faculty fellowship program, created by project leaders, to support the application of learning concepts from Black Mountain College in university courses. The second describes the process of creating an interactive website linked to three museum exhibitions that extended BMCS into public domains and extra-academic spaces of learning. Broadly, this paper analyzes the process of co-creating methods of experiential learning on and beyond a university campus. Project assessment data is utilized to contextualize public responses to BMCS and discuss future directions for the project
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ON THE GLOBAL STAGE: A LEGITIMACY EXAMINATION IN EMERGING MARKETS
Prior research suggests that emerging market multinationals (EMNEs) increasingly adopt corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a tool to gain legitimacy abroad. Although many scholars have investigated the relationship between CSR and Internationalization to be positive, a number of factors that influence the relationship have been continuously studied in recent years. To examine the CSR-Internationalization relationship in the context of EMNEs, it is necessary to take a different theoretical approach than for developed market multinationals. Building on stakeholder theory, this thesis investigates the effect of CSR on the Scope of Internationalization of EMNEs including the moderating effect of host market development level and state ownership. To address this research question, I performed a multiple linear regression analysis on a sample of 105 EMNEs. Based on this theoretical approach, I predict a positive relationship between CSR and Internationalization and a positive moderating effect of host market development level and state ownership on that relationship. The findings of this thesis conclude that CSR has a significant positive effect on the scope of internationalization, while the effect of host market development level and state ownership remains unclear and insignificant. It sheds light on the importance of considering non-economic factors in understanding the international expansion of firms from emerging markets
THE IMPACT OF CSR INCIDENTS ON CUSTOMER LOYALTY: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INDITEX IN THE NETHERLANDS AND INDONESIA
This study explores the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) incidents and customer loyalty, focusing on a comparative analysis of Inditex's operations in the Netherlands and Indonesia. Investigating the impact of CSR incidents on customer loyalty is crucial in understanding consumer behavior in diverse cultural contexts. Through a comprehensive examination of Inditex's CSR practices and incidents, this study aims to discern the varying degrees of influence on customer loyalty in these two distinct markets. This research considers the moderating effect of the customer country of residence between Indonesia and the Netherlands and the relationship between CSR incidents and customer loyalty is mediated by the trust in the company’s reputation. This research contributes to the broader understanding of the global implications of CSR strategies on customer relations, offering practical implications for businesses navigating diverse markets
THE NATIONALITY OF THE ARBITRAL SENTENCE IN INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION
In the case of international disputes resolved by means of arbitration, the cross-border effects of the awards are essential for the parties. At first glance, these awards are assimilated to the national court judgements of the state where they were pronounced and are considered foreign court judgements in any other state. Nevertheless, in some cases, the links between the arbitral procedures and the place of pronouncement of the awards are weak or even non-existent, which raises serios doubts over the ability of this specific place to determine the nationality of the arbitral award.
The described circumstance is the premise of the present scientific approach, which aims to deepen the analysis of the criteria for determining the nationality of an arbitral award (by a Romanian court), with implications on its cross-border effects, as well as on the procedures that could lead to its dissolution.
From a methodological point of view, the research aims, successively, to inventory the applicable legal instruments, to delineate the solutions offered by them, in order to, finally, by overlapping them, provide a comprehensive theory on the determination of the nationality of an arbitral award
