The Political Economy of Digitalization and Climate Change Response in Nigeria
Climate change is having serious impacts on the sustainability of the world. Growing scientific exactitude on causes and effects of climate change makes humanity’s response to it an urgent and critical need. Nigeria like many countries around the world is facing difficult times owing to the new environmental realities produced by the menace. Responding to climate change requires humanity’s best social, political, scientific, and technological efforts. To achieve this, this paper notes that digitalization can be a veritable climate change response tool in Nigeria. Dwelling on Schumpeter’s theory of innovation and the political economy approach, the paper argues that digitalization holds positives for Nigeria’s hitherto unimpressive climate change response but may not be practicable due to the social, economic and political contradictions that are producing unfavourable outcomes within the Nigerian state. This situation explains why mitigation and adaption efforts have not produced satisfactory results, a situation that puts citizens’ wellbeing in harm’s way in critical areas such as agriculture, housing, healthcare, and energy among others. The paper concludes that digitalization would make mitigation and adaptation wholesome and enhance the adequacy of climate change policies and programmes towards sustainable development in Nigeria. It then comes up with policy suggestions that can help mainstream digitalization as a tool for climate change response in the country

The article presents the results of the analysis of commercial hunting of the most typical communities of small indigenous peoples of the North of Russia living in the Arctic zone of Yakutia, for which hunting largely determines the life quality. For the analysis, statistical data and internal hunting materials were used with the participation of the article authors. In preparing this article, we used statistical data and materials from the Yakutia Department of Hunting Management, as well as stock materials from the Institute. We used statistical methods to process the materials. For the first time, the materials of the intra-economic hunting arrangement conducted in the areas assigned to small peoples are analyzed. For the first time, the article provides data on the history of establishing hunting grounds in Yakutia as part of all-Russian activities. The article provides the results of foreign researchers' studies dedicated to the issue of framing and maintaining the traditional lifestyle of indigenous peoples of the North. Based on the analysis of the structure of commercial production, it is demonstrated that hunting trends are adapted to the extreme weather and climatic conditions of the Arctic and defined by the wildlife species that inhabit these regions. Backed by retrospective analyses, considerable changes in the structure of commercial production are illustrated. These are linked to the decrease in numbers of one of the populations of wild reindeer and the decreasing demand for natural fur, factors that have reduced the importance of traditional hunting in the lives of the region’s ethnic groups. It is revealed that the forecast of large-scale development of mineral resources in the Arctic regions of Yakutia demands that preventive measures be taken to protect natural resources that are the foundation for the traditional crafts of the indigenous peoples of the North

Continuity in the Development of Judicial Law
The ongoing changes in the legal map of the world reflect the interaction of legal systems. These processes inevitably affect the scope of activities of the judicial authorities associated with such a phenomenon as judicial law. The authors of the article take a narrow approach to understanding it. It implies the manifestation of judicial law as judicial practice and judicial precedents. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that the phenomenon of judicial law goes beyond the limits of a single legal family, which implies its comparative legal research. At the same time, an important direction of such activity is the study of the development of this law associated with the processes of continuity. The objective of the study is to identify the concept and features of continuity in the development of judicial law. To do this, the authors formulated the following tasks: identify the concept and signs of continuity within the framework of legal development; disclose the peculiarities of understanding judicial law; determine the characteristic features of continuity in the development of judicial precedents; characterize continuity in the evolution of judicial practice. The conducted research is based on a dialectically understood model of continuity. This assumes the use of a systemic paradigm associated with a constellation of different methods, such as comparative, structural-functional, etc. The results allowed the authors to determine the trends and prospects for the development of judicial law within the framework of certain legal spaces. The authors of the article believe it advisable to use these results in subsequent research on this topic
