A Bíblia na Amazônia
Get PDFThis thematic reflexion aims to discuss how we use the Bible in such a complex and diversified reality in the Amazon region, which contemplates both the forest and the cities and towns that exist in them and the cultural diversity of its people. This reality contrasts with social injustices, which results in the destruction of this green sanctuary, in the exploitation of the indigenous population, which is constantly attacked by projects of power and wealth whose “god” is greed. What should unite the Bible and the Amazon is the word “inculturation”. Church documents always refer to the importance of knowing the ground of evangelization. It is not about colonizing people based on the Bible, but rather contextualizing, meditating, enlightening, celebrating and acting. In its origins, the Bible reveals the diversity of cultures and peoples where, in this collective construction, unity around a God who does not support the oppression of his children can be seen.A presente reflexão temática objetiva discutir como usamos a Bíblia numa realidade tão complexa e diversificada na região amazônica, que contempla tanto a floresta como as cidades e povoados nelas existentes e a diversidade cultural do seu povo. Trata-se de uma realidade contrastante com as injustiças sociais, o que resulta na destruição deste santuário verde, na exploração da população autóctone, que é constantemente atacada por projetos de poder e riqueza cujo “deus” é a ganância. O que deve unir Bíblia e a Amazônia é a palavra “inculturação”. Os documentos da Igreja sempre fazem referência sobre a importância de conhecer o chão da evangelização. Não se trata de colonizar os povos a partir da Bíblia, mas sim, de contextualizar, meditar, iluminar para celebrar e agir. A Bíblia revela em sua origem a diversidade de culturas e povos onde, nesta construção em mutirão, transparece a unidade em torno de um Deus que não suporta a opressão sobre seus filhos
