Full text linkThe theme of unity that we propose to study (Hosea 5,8-15) deals with the conflict involving Israel and Juda in a fratricidal war, known as the Syro-Ephraimite war, in a turbulent international crisis. Full text linkThe book of Hosea makes us cast watchful eye over a little explored region in relation to biblical research: the Northern Kingdom, in their traditions, literature, among other relevant aspects. The pericope which now will be examined shows us a hard time in the history of the people. This time characterized by enacting a harsh sentence as paid to a religious context clearly trivialized and, similar to what the text itself brings prostituted, where foreign alliances are the main outstanding element. Israel would be devastated, and on the run, the nation would go through extreme days in the struggle for survival. However, Hosea tends to show the people that the Lord had not forgotten them. As a true messenger of love, the prophet shows that the alliance would be restored by Yahweh that, even in adversity, would continue taking care of his people.O livro de Oseias faz com que lancemos olhares atentos sobre uma região pouco explorada no que tange à pesquisa bíblica: O Reino do Norte, em suas tradições, literatura, dentre outros aspectos relevantes. A perícope que será examinada nesta ocasião nos mostra um momento difícil na história do povo. Momento este caracterizado pelo promulgar de uma dura sentença como paga a um contexto religioso claramente banalizado e, a exemplo do que o próprio texto traz, prostituído, onde as alianças estrangeiras são o principal elemento destacado. Israel haveria de ser devastado e, em fuga, a nação haveria de passar por dias extremos na luta pela sobrevivência. No entanto, Oseias tende a demonstrar ao povo que Javé não havia se esquecido deles. Como um autêntico mensageiro do amor, o profeta demonstra que a aliança haveria de ser restaurada por Javé, que, mesmo na adversidade, continuaria cuidando do seu povo
