Full text linkThe article discusses the passage 8.1-14 of the book of Hosea and has the characteristic of following the structure of a judicial process. We need, however before to certifying that the book of Hosea is the first book that presents Iahweh as the lover of Israel, theology that will mark the Jewish theology and that is also significant for Christianity. His scathing criticism of the practices idolatry makes reference to the thinking of the society of the time. Not content itself with formalism and denounces the betrayals of the covenant (like a marriage), stating that a tragedy was about to come. Complaint the idolatrous cult, the injustice, the crush of the law, the use of violence, but the axis of its thinking is the bet on love and divine mercy. It brings with it the certainty of the boundless love of God and his call to the compliance with the covenant.O artigo discorre sobre a perícope 8,1-14 do livro de Oseias e tem por característica seguir a estrutura de um processo judicial. Precisamos, entretanto, antes atestar que o livro de Oseias é o primeiro livro que apresenta Iahweh como o amante de Israel, teologia que vai marcar a teologia judaica e que será também significativa para o cristianismo. Sua contundente crítica às práticas idolátricas o faz referência para o pensar da sociedade da época. Não se contentava com formalismos e denuncia as traições da aliança (tal e qual um matrimônio), afirmando que uma tragédia estava por vir. Denuncia o culto idolátrico, a injustiça, o esmagar do direito, o uso de violência, mas o eixo de seu pensar é a aposta no amor e na misericórdia divina. Traz consigo a certeza do amor desmedido de Deus e seu chamado ao cumprimento da Aliança
