    Get PDF
Behavioral health, mental health, and primary physical health care have integrated services since the 1970s.  With this growth, there has also been growth in integrating treatment strategies for mind and body collaboration in the healing process.  Many of these have roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine or Ayurvedic Medicine and have included assessment of physical presentations to denote physical or mental health issues, the use of mind-based strategies to promote healing of both mental and physical health conditions, and the use of physical strategies to promote healing of both mental and physical health conditions. Review and background are provided for mind-body integration healthcare strategies and rationale for journal article contributions.  Practitioners share articles in representative approaches with further explanation of these modalities and presentation of examples of work for efficacy in the modalities. These representative approaches reflect the employment of the mind to heal the body and the body to heal the mind, resulting in efficacy in synergistic whole-person healing.  A conclusion is provided with a summary of both efficacy attained and continuing needs for further research

Supporting Mental Well-Being Through Emotion-Focused Coaching Intervention

    Get PDF
Emotion-Focused Coaching (EFC) is a new method focused on expanding emotional intelligence and psychological well-being, which does not involve therapeutic work. The current conceptual paper suggests a theoretical literature review to analyze the peer-reviewed sources on how EFC can promote emotional awareness, self-compassion, resilience, and better interpersonal relationships. EFC does not involve clinical intervention, unlike other traditional forms of therapeutic interventions; it offers a structured means through which the individual interacts with his thoughts and feelings. According to the literature, coaching clients tend to become more empathetic communicators and also develop greater skills in conflict resolution, both personal and professional. Possible use of EFC in the learning process, medical practice, and workplace is also explored as an early solution to emotional support. The method demands well-trained special coaches who effectively work in an emotional facilitation context and clients who are ready to practice self-reflection. All in all, EFC proves to be a revolutionary model of self-growth and a resourceful addition to the upcoming sphere of coaching and mental support

A Quantum-Safe, Interoperable, and Decentralized Payment Infrastructure for the Post-Classical Era as a Strategic Framework for Secure Global Transactions

    Get PDF
The rise of quantum computing introduces a profound threat to existing digital security frameworks, particularly those that underpin modern payment systems. Current cryptographic standards, such as RSA, ECC, and ECDSA are susceptible to being broken by quantum algorithms like Shor's and Grover's, jeopardizing the confidentiality, authenticity, and integrity of transactions across financial networks. This study presents a comprehensive investigation into the design, feasibility, and architecture of a universal quantum-safe payment platform capable of processing all types of digital transactions, ranging from mobile money and bank transfers to blockchain-based and card payments through existing delivery channels on a decentralized infrastructure. The research synthesizes current developments in post-quantum cryptography (PQC), including lattice-based, hash-based, and code-based algorithms, and evaluates their suitability for real-time financial systems. The proposed platform incorporates a permissioned distributed ledger, API-level compatibility with legacy financial protocols, and an identity-governed, modular architecture that enables cryptographic agility and policy compliance. Through architectural modeling and critical analysis, this research provides a forward-looking blueprint for building quantum-resilient financial infrastructure. It concludes that while performance and governance hurdles remain, quantum-safe payment networks are both technically feasible and urgently necessary. This work aims to equip stakeholders, especially fintech firms, banks, and regulatory bodies, with a detailed roadmap for transitioning to secure, interoperable, and scalable payment systems in the quantum era

Bioinsecticide effect of Metarhizium anisopliae on termite pests Microtermes lepidus and Psammotermes hybostoma, in the laboratory

    Get PDF
In Senegal, many studies have shown the economic importance of termite damage to crops. The majority of farmers use dangerous chemicals on human beings, animals, crops, soil, and environment health. Thus, the use of entomopathogenic fungi would be an effective and environmentally eco-friendly alternative to chemical pesticide use. The objectives of this study are to i) carry out infestations in the laboratory, ii) determine the lethal time (LT50) and iii) observe the germination of spores on the corpses of these species. The methodology is based on i) the infestation of 10 workers of Microtermes lepidus and Psammotermes hybostoma with Metarhizium solutions, ii) the monitoring of mortalities, iii) the determination of the lethal time 50 (LT50) and iv) germination of spores on corpses. For the determination of LT50, the concentrations of 1 g/L and 1.5 g/L gave an LT50 of less than one day in workers of Microtermes lepidus and Psammotermes hybostoma. For the concentration of 0.5 g/l, the LT50 is 2.5 days for workers of Psammotermes hybostoma and less than one day for those of Microtermes lepidus. Incubation revealed the appearance of spores on the cadavers, which were given a concentration of 0.5 g/l. This study shows that mortality is related to the concentration of the solution. The higher the concentration, the shorter the LT50 time. The bioinsecticide effect of Metarhizium anisopliae is not immediate, resulting in an LT50 of 1 to 2 days, depending on the species

This study investigates the mediating effects of work engagement and organizational culture on the relationships between paternalistic leadership, organizational identification, and voice behavior among managers in Jordanian shareholding industrial companies. The research population comprises 3,612 top and middle-level managers across 239 companies, as identified through data from the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade. A large enterprise is defined as having 500 or more employees. Employing a stratified random sampling technique, a minimum required sample size of 347 managers was determined. Of the 400 distributed questionnaires, 347 were returned, and 318 were deemed valid for analysis, resulting in a usable response rate of 79.5%. The study applied a quantitative research design and utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS software for data analysis. The results of the study revealed several significant relationships. First, paternalistic leadership was found to have a positive and direct effect on both organizational identification and voice behavior. Additionally, cultural values demonstrated a significant and positive direct influence on organizational identification as well as on voice behavior. Similarly, work engagement exhibited a positive and direct impact on organizational identification and voice behavior. Moreover, the study identified important mediating effects. Cultural values were shown to mediate the positive relationship between paternalistic leadership and organizational identification, as well as between paternalistic leadership and voice behavior. Likewise, work engagement served as a mediator in the relationship between paternalistic leadership and both organizational identification and voice behavior, reinforcing the role of engagement in strengthening leadership outcomes

Modelling Growth and Yield Components of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) and Ayoyo (Corchorus olitorius (L.)) Using Multiple Regression

    Get PDF
Multiple regression was employed to model the relationship between growth and yield components of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L) Moench) and ayoyo (Corchorus olitorius (L)), with the aim of generating a predictive model. Data on growth parameters and yields of okra and ayoyo crops were collected and analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 21. Ten (10) plants were tagged in each stream, and a metre rule was used to measure their heights at two-week intervals (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 weeks). The mean was calculated to obtain the average height per plot/experiment/stream. Data were also collected on the number of leaves per plot, leaf area index per experiment, leaf spread per experiment, and fresh and dry weight per plot. Total nitrogen content was determined using the Kjeldahl method, while phosphorus (P) levels were analyzed using the Bray-P solution method. Additionally, potassium (K) concentrations were measured using the flame photometer method. Results showed an average infiltration rate of 160.25 mm/h, suggesting that the site’s soils belong to hydrologic soil group A/B.  Group A consists of sand, loamy sand, or sandy loam soil types. Group B comprises silt loam or loam with moderate infiltration rates, low runoff potential, and high infiltration rates when thoroughly wetted. Due to their moderate to high water transmission rates, these soils are suitable for drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. Notably, there is a strong positive correlation between plant height and leaf area (0.889), and between leaf area and leaf area index (0.981). This suggests that as plant height increases, so does the leaf area, and a similar positive relationship exists between leaf area and the leaf area index. Furthermore, the correlation between the number of leaves and other growth parameters such as leaf area (0.966) and leaf area index (0.988) is also strongly positive. This indicates that an increase in the number of leaves is associated with increases in both leaf area and leaf area index. These correlations, ranging from 0.582 to 0.807, indicate a high degree of association. The high R2 value suggests a strong correlation between predicted and observed yields of okra, indicating reliable predictive capability when the growth parameters of okra are provided. Similarly, for ayoyo, a model equation was developed through regression analysis, yielding an R2 value of 0.941. The yield of ayoyo can thus be predicted during cultivation, provided its growth parameters are known. Hence, this study is focused on establishing a multiple regression model for the growth and yield of okra and ayoyo under different irrigation stream systems

A Phenomenological and Qualitative Pilot Study Addressing the Necessary Competencies for Becoming a Competent Sandtray Therapy Practitioner

    Get PDF
This phenomenological and qualitative pilot study aimed to understand mental health practitioners' perspectives on the competencies that sandtray therapy providers should include in their training programs for individuals to become competent sandtray therapy practitioners. While this creative and sensory-based approach was developed for young children, mental health practitioners have found it a valuable therapeutic tool for non-verbally communicating their innermost thoughts and feelings across the lifespan. Even though sandtray therapy has been used by mental health practitioners for over thirty years as an alternative to traditional talk therapy, it is not widely recognized as an evidence-based psychotherapeutic approach by the mental health profession. Through semi-structured interviews and a focus group discussion, the study’s four participants articulated how the International Association of Sandtray Therapy (IAST) training program imparted specialized knowledge and skills essential for mental health practitioners in developing vital competencies to become competent sandtray therapy practitioners. While the World Association of Sand Therapy Professionals (WASTP) has proposed that sandtray therapy training programs adopt a universal set of competencies, the study’s four participants debated whether this is necessary. Analysis of the study’s data revealed three themes: professional integration of sandtray therapy, integrating somatic experiences and neurological processes, and establishing criteria for becoming a competent sandtray therapy practitioner. This pilot study examined how these three themes relate to the competencies these participants perceived as critical for becoming competent sandtray therapy practitioners

Approches pédagogiques de l'interférence linguistique dans l'enseignement supérieur : une proposition de curriculum

    Get PDF
This study addresses the issue of linguistic interference among prospective French teachers in Lebanese primary schools. The research shows how a structured remedial intervention, integrated into the initial teacher curriculum, can attenuate interference effects and improve pedagogical accuracy. We adopted a mixed-methods approach, involving 12 second-year undergraduate students at a Lebanese university (level A2/B1, CEFR). We collected data, which included a diagnostic questionnaire assessing students' awareness of linguistic interference, a didactic remediation session based on the “ProFLE” model, and a final assessment survey to verify our results and validate our hypothesis. The intervention focused on identifying and correcting phonetic, lexical, and morphosyntactic interference, using authentic student productions and interactive tasks. Pre-intervention results showed limited understanding of interference and a high number of errors due to negative transfer from Lebanese Arabic. Post-intervention results revealed significant improvements in students' ability to detect and explain types of interference, apply remediation strategies, and reflect on their language use. The study concludes that integrating targeted language remediation into teacher training strengthens language skills and promotes long-term professional effectiveness. The implications extend to curriculum reform, particularly in multilingual contexts, and highlight the need for early awareness of language transfer phenomena in bilingual training

    Get PDF
Introduction: Abdominal pregnancy, an extremely rare form of ectopic pregnancy, abdominal pregnancy, is a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency. Clinical Case: We report the case of a patient who presented with abdominal pain and metrorrhagia at eight months of pregnancy. The pregnancy had been poorly monitored in a rural area characterized by a shortage of qualified healthcare personnel and limited access to imaging services—typical of a low-income country. Emergency physical and additional examinations upon admission led to the diagnosis of an advanced, progressive abdominal pregnancy, prompting immediate surgical intervention. A laparotomy was performed, resulting in the delivery of a live  newborn weighing 2,460 g, with APGAR score of 7, 8 and 10/10 at the first, fifth and tenth minute of life, respectively. The placenta was easily detached and completely removed. The postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient was discharged on the tenth postoperative day without cytostatic treatment. Discussion: Our clinical case was discussed in relation to the existing literature. Conclusion: Advanced abdominal pregnancy with a live birth is not uncommon in our environment. Its prevention through universal access to quality prenatal follow-up is essential to avoid harmful outcomes
