Bibliographic Review of Aquaponic Systems and their Relevance to Côte d’Ivoire, a Sub-Saharan African Country
Through a review of aquaponic techniques, the present work highlights the interest aroused by this practice in the world as well as different modes of exploitation. Aquaponics is defined as a coupling between a recirculated aquaculture compartment and an aboveground crop compartment. Since two decades, it has been the subject of a significant economic activity in Canada, the USA, Australia and induces numerous research activities. This system is subdivided into three (3) major techniques which are the culture techniques on bed of inert substrates, on nutritive film and that of rafts. Aquaponics is the subject of profitable industrial economic activity on both large and small scale in the USA and Canada. Given the benefits of low water consumption, then on-use of fertilizers and pesticides, aquaponics is unquestionably according to researchers and users, the system capable of revolutionizing livestock farming and agriculture around the world. Côte d'Ivoire is suffering not only from the consequences of climate change but also from rapid urbanization, with the consequent change in water resources. Aquaponics deserves to be mastered then popularized in this country, to help produce fish and plants of better quality while avoiding the waste of water caused by traditional livestock systems

Virtuous Legislation: The Royal Decree for the Sustainable Management of the Woods of Serra San Bruno, Stilo, Mongiana, and Ferdinandea
The extraction and processing of metals in the Calabrian Serre region have ancient origins, with Greek colonies utilizing local mines for tools and coins. The Normans later granted mines to Carthusian monks, enhancing military production. Ferdinand II's reign saw the peak of the Ferdinandea foundry, leading to its designation as a military colony. The region's steel complex became a European industrial hub.
In the 18th century, laws were enacted to balance industrial needs with environmental protection. The Salvaboschi Decree of 1773, issued by the Bourbons and King Ferdinand IV, aimed to protect the forest heritage by implementing forty-year cutting cycles. It regulated tree selection and cutting height to promote forest regeneration, representing a significant step towards sustainable forest management in the Calabrian Serre region
The business world is a complex one. Several factors come into play to make work a source of suffering and malaise. This can be seen in the daily complaints and protests from workers towards their superiors, their colleagues and even towards their professional activity itself. Negative feelings accumulate and fuel psychological wear and tear. These are workplace risks that are closely linked to the way the organisation functions, known as psychosocial risks (PSR). Of course, companies have a moral and legal responsibility to safeguard the well-being of their employees, but failings and negligence are part and parcel of the very reality of this working environment. With this in mind, we set out in this study to verify the relationship that might exist between an employee's enjoyment of regular physical and sporting activity and his or her perception of and adaptation to situations of work-related stress. The study involved 149 managers. Two types of study were used. A qualitative exploratory study and a quantitative confirmatory study. The results confirm the beneficial impact of regular physical exercise and sport on the perception of work-related stress and the very nature of coping strategies, which in turn contributes to a positive state of well-being at work
Integrating Artificial Intelligence in a Morphology Course - An Analytical Study from University Students’ Perspectives
This paper attempts to scrutinize the attitudes and opinions of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in a morphology course in higher education in Lebanon as a pedagogical tool in classroom contexts in providing learners with personalized learning paths centered on their needs and strengths, offering automated feedback on activities and assignments, supplying study resources and extra material, furnishing adaptive assessments, and most importantly, identifying common errors in students’ responses that allow instructors to acknowledge the learning gaps and tailor their teaching strategies accordingly. It also aims to determine the students’ perspectives on AI’s potent role in learning. In this exploratory study, a mixed-method design and a convenient sampling of participants were utilized. A total of 62 EFL students at the public university in Lebanon participated in the study. To describe and quantify their perceptions on integrating AI in a morphology course, an online survey including closed-ended and open-ended questions, and two focus group discussions were administered. The overall qualitative and quantitative analyses of the data indicated that Lebanese EFL students have positive attitudes towards integrating AI in a morphology course as a pedagogical tool and as a fundamental part of the teaching strategies in EFL higher education classes since it provides a good source of information and aids in the teaching and learning process; however, the findings also revealed the need to train teachers and students to use AI technologies keeping in mind the potent role of the instructor in class
Towards a Green Metaverse Era. How can experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic trigger law and environmental-related transformations, as well as green data input?
In this research paper we explore the impact of digitalization. Specifically, we focus on the intersection of software engineering, sustainability, and accountability. By conducting literature reviews and qualitative research as well, incorporating theories, from scholars like Beck and others about modernity, we address the growing impact of digital systems and AI on environment. As these systems gain importance it becomes crucial to have frameworks in place for holding them accountable in their design and implementation. In today’s era that emphasizes systems without boundaries (as described by Haraway in 2016) it is essential for all stakeholders including software engineers, end users, citizens, governments, and society at large to understand and carefully navigate the consequences of these systems. To achieve a paradigm shift we propose using strategies informed by Science and Technology Studies (STS) in order to understand and shape the socio-technical impact of digital technologies. We argue that accountability should be integrated within sustainability frameworks as an aspect for bringing about transformations. In order to move towards sustainability, it is vital to adopt approaches that effectively comprehend and shape the influence of socio-technical systems within the digital realm. We stress the need for mechanisms that promote accountability towards sustainability as the foundation, for shifts. Our research paper focuses on a variety of studies that explore aspects of software. We examine everything from energy efficiency to the impact that software has on sustainability. We investigate the viewpoints of software professionals on the environmental footprint of digitalization (energy consumption, computer metrics, etc). By using the concept of co production we highlight how technological advancements are closely connected with environmental factors. We emphasize the roles played by governance, knowledge sharing, legal culture improvement and comprehensive education, in shaping our future
This study aims to seek an alternative way to improve the diet and productivity of local chickens by incorporating industrial concentrate into their ration. Specifically, this involves determining the consumption of feed based on local chicken concentrate and evaluating the growth performance of local chicken fed with feed based on industrial concentrate. Thus, to explore a diet based on single flock concentrate, 96 local chicks aged 4 weeks were divided into two batches, batch 1 fed with the control feed and batch 2 with the feed incorporated with industrial concentrate. They were raised over a period of 8 weeks. The consumption index, growth, average daily gain, mortality rate of the subjects, and the temperature and humidity level of the building were studied. At the end of the rearing period, the chickens recorded an average feed conversion index of 3.92 ± 1.88 and 5.1 ± 2.01 for batches 1 and 2 respectively. An average weight of 227.5 ± 3.9 g and 217.83 ± 4.1g was obtained for batches 1 and 2 respectively. No mortality was recorded with the subjects. The production performances obtained make it possible to deduce that the incorporation of industrial feed concentrates into the feed of local chickens makes it possible to improve their production performance
Class, Power, and Social Change: A New Historicist Approach to August Strindberg’s Miss Julie and Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard
This paper conducts a new historicist analysis of Strindberg’s Miss Julie (2008) and Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard (1951), exploring how these plays reflect and respond to the social, political, and cultural dynamics of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. By examining the interaction between literature and history, this study reveals how these works depict the tensions between old and new social orders, the shift of power dynamics, and the struggles of individuals caught in the midst of profound societal changes. Although both classic works have been the subject of a lot of critical studies, neither has been studied from a new historicist perspective. The shift in power dynamics at the very beginning of the twentieth century with the deterioration of the aristocratic sovereignty and the rise of the middle class is a prominent theme in both plays. This shift conveys the inevitability of change that disrupts routines, norms, and tradition. From a new historicist perspective, those who are marginalized do not necessarily match readers’ initial assumptions, as the measures used to exhume the stigmatized characters are never the same as those utilized in other theoretical frameworks. It is not a battle between two antagonistic groups; nor is it a Greek tragedy that instigates catharsis upon the heroes’ tragic falls, simply because there is no hero, only an antihero. While Strindberg focuses on the changing role of women and the emergence of feminism in addition to class struggle, a new historicist approach reads these radical social, political, and economic changes as a result of historical changes taking place in Europe during that era. Chekhov, in turn, depicts the historical fall of aristocrats who had started to lose power on behalf of wild capitalism during the same era
