Analysis of Capital Budgeting Green Industry in Innovative and Sustainable Post-Mining Programs in Belitung Regency
Purpose: The main purpose of this article is to evaluate the feasibility of the re-mining project of the closure tin mine area which is then processed into silica products according to export specifications, which is simultaneous with the process of environmental management of the closure mining area.
Theoretical framework: Determining the capital budgeting of the project, financial indicators: Payback Period, NPV, Profitable Index, Internal Rate Return, and Return of Investment, and sensitivity
Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative approach will be used to analyze the capital budgeting calculations to build a green industry through re-mining and silica refinery activities in good environmental management, not only land rehabilitation and vegetation restoration activities but post-mining activities, however synergized through creating an innovative program.
Findings: Based on the results of investment calculations, the development of this green industry was declared technically and financially feasible through the management of re-mining, production of silica, and structuring the ex-mining area into a productive green area with a budget commitment that was mutually agreed upon before this activity was carried out.
Research, Practical & Social implications: The post-mining tin location in Belitung Province – Indonesia, still has the potential for non-metallic mineral content, which can be re-mined and refined for silica commodities. The ex-mining area was found to be still an open area and even barren, even though PT Timah Tbk has carried out environmental restoration activities.
Originality/value: In the study of capital budgeting for re-mining and silica refineries, the sensitivity of the analysis to changes in fuel costs and changes in selling prices has also been calculated

Recognition and Enforcement of Annulled Arbitral Awards Under the New York Convention 1958
Purpose: The arbitral awards are enforceable internationally under the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, 1958. The Convention provides the discretion to the courts in enforcing State either to enforce or reject the international arbitral awards. The award set aside at the seat of arbitration is not enforceable, however the courts in some jurisdictions enforced such awards. In this context the paper examines how the courts in different jurisdictions justified while enforcing the annulled awards.
Theoretical framework: Arbitration mechanism is frequently used for settlement of international commercial disputes. It enables party autonomy in drafting arbitration agreements, choosing the applicable law and determining the arbitration seat. According to Article V (1)(e) of the New York Convention the national courts may refuse to recognize or enforce the foreign award if it was set aside or annulled at the seat of arbitration or under law of which such award was given. In some jurisdictions the enforcing courts considered the annulment procedure followed by the courts and if such procedure was unfair, the courts in enforcing country have agreed to enforce the set aside awards.
Design/methodology/approach: The author followed the legal analysis method to examine the approach of the courts from different jurisdictions that have enforced the annulled foreign arbitral awards and the legal comparative method observed to study the judicial decisions from various jurisdictions.
Findings: The study concludes that Article V (1) of the New York Convention gives discretionary power to the enforcing courts regarding enforcement of foreign arbitral award. Hence, the courts in some jurisdictions enforced the annulled award if the set aside procedure was unfair, based on local grounds, biased, violated basic norms of justice, against the parties’ agreement or applied domestic law instead of the New York Convention. To secure the enforcement of award, the parties to the arbitration may agree that the arbitral award is not subject to challenge in any court at the arbitration seat or in the state in which the award is enforced and prefer a pro-arbitration State as a seat of arbitration.
Research, Practical & Social implications: The study provides practical guidance to the arbitrating parties in drafting arbitration agreements to ensure the enforcement of an arbitration award internationally.
Originality/value: The research on enforcement of annulled award under the New York Convention immensely helpful in guiding the arbitration parties in drafting the arbitration agreement, choosing arbitration procedure and seat of arbitration
An Inferential Statistical Analysis of the Key Factors Influencing the Adoption of New Technology by MEEC (MICE) Organizers in Thailand
Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the adoption of new technology within the Meetings, Exhibitions and Conventions sector in Thailand.

An online survey of 302 MEEC/MICE Organizers is analyzed using stepwise Multiple Linear regression to estimate the attitude of the organizers toward new technology and which factors have the greatest influence on their intention to adopt new technology further.
Findings: The results indicate that 85% of the study participants are currently adopting MEEC/MICE technological innovation in one way or another, and 99.6% are of the opinion that they will adopt it in the future. The study also indicates that the business environment, of which government policy is a major factor, can have an influence on both the attitude and the adoption intention of technology, but that their own attitude to technology is the factor with most weight and that the respondent’s attitude to new technology is mostly influenced by their employees’ capability.

Assessing Economic Growth Quality
Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the quality of economic growth according to the stages of its generation and manifestation.
Theoretical framework: The use of quantitative estimation when exploring economic growth can lead to misinterpretation or inaccurate judgments, since the economic reality implies not only quantitative, but also qualitative components. The goal of economic growth, its planning and statement are not an end in themselves, they are aimed to improve the welfare of society. Its implementation implies an improvement in the qualitative facet of economic growth. To date, attempts to assess the quality of economic growth are mostly based on its social outcomes. With such an approach, we miss the formation process of economic growth, focusing only on its effects.
Design/methodology/approach: There are developed special indices for both economic growth generation quality and economic growth effects quality, based on macroeconomic and social indicators that play a significant role in the relevant process. These together, as subindices, form an economic growth quality index. The latter is calculated for 76 countries during 2005-2020. The following techniques and indicators are used in the process of the index calculation - normalization, percentiling, optimal lag length selection informational criteria, cointegration tests.
Findings: The research empirically confirms that the economic growth quality in the world manifests itself more steadily than it is being formed. Between the leaders and the countries in the last positions in index rankings, the drastic difference mainly lies in their productivity, expenditures on education and lending to the private sector through domestic credit.
Research, Practical & Social implications: The nature of the proposed economic growth assessment can serve as a baseline for further research studies in this context. On the other hand, the findings of this study can be used to analize the drivers and barriers to growth in each of the observed country.
Originality/value: The approach according to which the economic growth quality index is constructed gives an opportunity to observe economic growth not as a static indicator but as a breathing organism, describing the development process with detailed growth causes and consequences
