Objectives: This study examines the role of agricultural inputs in strengthening household food security in Murang’a County, Kenya. It evaluates the accessibility, affordability, and utilization of improved seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and mechanization, and their impact on food production, accessibility, and stability.   Theoretical Framework: Grounded in the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework (SLF) and the Theory of Agricultural Innovation Diffusion, this study explores how livelihood assets and technology adoption influence food security. SLF posits that households achieve food security by leveraging financial, human, and physical capital, while the Innovation Diffusion Theory explains the adoption of agricultural technologies based on perceived benefits and access to information.   Method: A mixed-methods approach was employed, collecting quantitative data from 383 respondents through structured questionnaires and qualitative insights via key informant interviews. Descriptive statistics, regression, and correlation analyses were used to assess relationships between agricultural input access and food security.   Results and Discussion: Findings indicate a significant positive correlation (r = 0.201, p < 0.05) between access to quality agricultural inputs and household food security. Households utilizing improved inputs reported higher yields, better dietary diversity, and reduced vulnerability to food shortages. However, challenges such as high input costs, inadequate credit access, and limited extension services hinder effective utilization, highlighting the need for targeted interventions.   Research Implications: Policymakers should integrate community-inclusive, results-based monitoring and evaluation systems into agricultural projects. Recommendations include capacity building, technological adoption for real-time data, and fostering stakeholder collaboration to ensure long-term sustainability.   Originality/Value: This research provides localized insights into the link between agricultural inputs and food security. It presents a replicable model for enhancing food security in similar rural contexts through strategic agricultural input management and systematic evaluation frameworks

THE KINGDOM OF GOD: JESUS’ VISION FOR PEACE

Objectives: In this study, I aim to show the way in which Jesus’ concept of the kingdom of God held meaning for peaceable living in his society, Israel under Roman occupation. The study furthermore suggests relevance for present-day peacebuilding.   Theoretical Framework: Jesus’ view of the kingdom, as understood in its historical setting, is framed in the context of peace theory.   Method: The concept of the kingdom of God is evaluated in its historical context, making use of biblical and extra-biblical Jewish texts that circulated adjacent the time of Jesus. This view of the kingdom of God is then compared to relevant ideas from modern-day peace studies.   Results and Discussion: In first-century Israel the concept of the kingdom of God meant that Israel’s God would become king of Israel. Under his kingship the people of Israel, the promised land, and the Temple would be restored, while foreign occupiers would be defeated. Different narratives developed about the establishment of the kingdom. The kingdom of God was Jesus’ way of capturing the way God intended his people to live in peace. Jesus’ vision for peace is both idealist and realist, and calls to repentance in terms of a renewed way of thinking and turning from sins.   Research Implications: This research contributes to the field of peacebuilding. The nature of Jesus’ vision, utopian yet concrete, embedded in local tradition yet challenging existing narratives, provide keys for present-day peacebuilding. Repentance, in its historical context, calls for new ways to think in peacebuilding in which confessing of wrongs, and thinking in new ways are essential in the process of reconciliation.   Originality/Value: Connecting Jesus’ ideas about peace in their historical setting and connecting these with modern peace theory, open up a way to meaningful ideas worthwhile considering for peacebuilding in the context of difficult to solve conflicts

THE ROLE OF RELATIONSHIP MARKETING IN CONSUMER PURCHASE DECISION: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY

Objective: This study seeks to investigate the function of relationship marketing in consumer purchasing decisions.   Theoretical Framework: As a result of the significant changes witnessed in the last millennium at the global level in all spheres of life, perhaps the most prominent is the shift from the planned economy to the market economy, as well as the pressures of intense competition, the emergence of globalization, the information and technology revolution, the rise in levels of foreign investment, and the enormous increase in the number and types of products, services, and brands. It significantly influenced the decisions of consumers.   Method: Our study consists of a qualitative setting; thus, we have utilized the depth method, which helped us clarify the relation between consumer purchase decisions and relationship marketing from the perspective of both the consumer and the company, using semi-structured and unstructured interviews.   Results and Discussion: The results indicate that the foundation for achieving growth and sustainability in the markets is to attract the greatest number of customers possible, to strive for their satisfaction and gain loyalty, to work on establishing permanent partnership relationships with all customers, and to treat each customer as if it were its market division.   Research Implications: From a managerial application perspective, an understanding of consumers' expectations of their relationships with sellers would assist marketers in establishing, enhancing, and maintaining these relationships. Marketers need to identify how they can use customer data to improve customer relationships. Permission from customers can provide marketers with the privilege of contacting customers; information such as customer needs makes possible the customization of products and services; and data about the initiation and growth of customer relationships help to ensure effective and timely feedback. Marketers can informally survey their customers by asking about the relevance of various services, or they can formally survey their customers to gain more in-depth customer-specific information.   Originality/Value: The findings provide insight into consumers' motivations and attitudes with regard to relationship marketing and suggest a way forward for further research. In particular, a number of ways in which mobile phone companies might seek to encourage consumers to consider value-added service propositions more seriously and become less solely price-sensitive are proposed

Objective: The objective of the study was to find the effect of capacity planning on supply chain performance of   manufacturing firms.   Theoretical Framework: The main concepts and theories that underpin the research include: Transation cost theory, Resource Based view and social capital theory.   Method: The methodology adopted for this research comprises the positivism philosophy. Similarly, the study adopted the cross-sectional survey design, which is the most appropriate to deduce whether there exists a relationship that is significant among the study variables. The study was carried out among 518 manufacturing firms in Kenya, using semi-structured questionnaire out of which 491 were returned whereby only 457 were well filled as 34 were poorly filled or blank. The response rate was 88.2%. The data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. The relationship between the variables were tested using simple linear and multiple regression analysis.   Results and Discussion: The results obtained revealed that the effect of capacity planning on supply chain performance was statistically significant at both variable and indicator level analysis. In the discussion section, these results are contextualized in light of the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications and relationships identified. Possible discrepancies and limitations of the study are also considered in this section.   Research Implications: This implies that capacity planning indicators of demand forecasting, capacity expansion and equipment selection are key in determining supply chain performance and are very fundamental in the firms’ operations in determining the quantity of goods or services to be manufactured at a given time to satisfy the demand of customers. Hence, the RBV theory was fully supported by the findings of this study.   Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by operationalization and conceptualization of the variables to guide future research. The findings from this study contribute to the body of knowledge in the area of strategic supplier alliance, capacity planning, supply chain performance and firm performance. The study suggests future studies which it deems important in contributing to future knowledge in research works. It is recommended that other studies should be done there using other popular measures of capacity planning and supply chain performance since this study used only indexes of supply chain performance and qualitative data for capacity planning
