The digital transformation of agriculture represents a strategic lever to address structural challenges in Morocco’s agricultural sector, particularly in terms of sustainability, productivity, and social equity. This study explores the opportunities and limitations of agricultural digitalization through a thematic analysis of qualitative documents. The findings reveal that the adoption of digital technologies largely depends on infrastructure quality, farmers' digital literacy, and public policy support. While promising initiatives are emerging—such as the Génération Green program and virtual assistants in Darija—numerous barriers persist, including the high cost of technology, the territorial digital divide, and the mismatch between available solutions and local realities. The analysis of thematic co-occurrences highlights that public policies, inclusion, and skill development form the strategic foundation for successful digitalization. In conclusion, the success of Morocco’s agricultural digital transition will rely less on technological availability than on its contextualized, equitable, and community-embedded implementation.

A REVIEW ON REFRACTORY MATERIALS FOR FURNACES PRODUCED FROM DIFFERENT LOCALLY SOURCED CLAY SITES IN NIGERIA

    No full text
Refractories are ceramic materials used in high temperature applications, often above 1100oC. These materials find application in reactors, kilns, ovens, and furnace linings. Serious need for refractory materials is consistently increasing so as to accommodate ongoing development of industries and factories. Local clays are currently under investigation in order to address insufficient availability of refractory materials. Although the geomorphology of various locations where deposits of clay are found has been examined, comparatively little work has been done to fully evaluate these deposits to ascertain their suitability for use. This paper includes a review of refractories produced from locally sourced clay deposits in Nigeria followed by an evaluation of their applicability for furnace lining. Generally, most of the findings indicated that the local clay has excellent physical and chemical properties for refractories, however local manufacturing of refractories has been very low hence the nation still depends largely on imported refractories. Adequate funding for local manufacturing of refractories would be needed so as to access and explore the numerous clay deposits, thereby reducing import and maximize local production

Abstract : The legal and organizational aspect related to the administrative life of employees and agents of territorial groups is an urgent necessity that the decentralization system in our country has reached, which requires a modern democratic legal organization capable of comprehensively framing all the specializations of the territorial field (administrative, social, managerial...), within a unified and different framework in itself that takes into account the characteristic of diversity of functions and employees. There is no doubt that the reform and modernization of the territorial public service system is not limited to addressing some of the legal and organizational requirements for the management of employees and agents of territorial groups, such as promotion, evaluation and training, to move it from a traditional management style inherited from the era of the protectorate, and replace it with a more modern and flexible system with a clear strategic dimension, in search of new mechanisms aimed at raising the performance of the collective employee

Abstract School dropout is one of the major challenges facing education systems today, particularly in developing countries. This multidimensional phenomenon, defined as the premature interruption of the educational pathway, results from the interaction of social, economic, pedagogical, and institutional factors. Through a narrative review of the scientific literature, this article analyzes the main explanatory models of school dropout. The study highlights the importance of the Moroccan legal framework in connection with international commitments. Findings indicate that school dropout has significant repercussions on human capital, professional integration, and socio-economic development. Finally, the article sheds light on the measures proposed to address this issue, ranging from the strengthening of the legal framework to the generalization of social and pedagogical mechanisms, while underlining the persistent gap between normative richness and practical implementation challenges. Keywords: School dropout, Right to education, Theoretical models, Education.Résumé Le décrochage scolaire constitue aujourd’hui l’un des défis majeurs des systèmes éducatifs, particulièrement dans les pays en développement. Evaluation of Metaliteracy Levels among Moroccan University Students

    No full text
Research on 21st century literacy skills in Morocco is scarce despite the growing threat of information disorder in online environments. Owing to the increasing reliance of Moroccans on social media for information, it is essential to address issues related to the veracity of internet content such as misinformation and disinformation and the skills that allow individuals to assess whether online information is trustworthy or not.  Despite the fact that Morocco is heading more towards digitalization, the Moroccan educational system does not address these problems and has yet to show a full commitment to incorporating skills related to media and especially information literacy in all curricula. Moreover, traditional literacy concepts are no longer suited to dealing with the challenges that new age media poses. To address these issues, Mackey and Jacobson have proposed metaliteracy as a framework that addresses the limitations of traditional media literacy in the digital age. This study aims to evaluate metaliteracy skills of Moroccan university students. To achieve that, an online questionnaire was administered to a sample of 111 university students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Ben M’sik. Results revealed that respondents struggled with several essential skills necessary for safe and informed internet usage. Notably, age and education level showed correlations with media, digital, and information literacies. These findings highlight the need for further research on the effectiveness of metaliteracy in addressing misinformation as well as the need to implement these skills in Moroccan curricula. Keywords: Morocco, media literacy, digital literacy, information literacy, metaliterac

Hedging and Boosting in Moroccan English Research Articles: The Case of Doctoral Students at Ben’Msik Faculty of Sciences

    No full text
Researchers typically present findings and make claims in alignment with established norms of academic writing within the scientific community. This study investigates Moroccan doctoral science students’ use of hedges and boosters in their published scientific articles, focusing on their awareness of the semantic and pragmatic functions of these discourse markers and their adherence to disciplinary writing conventions. The research employs a mixed-methods approach: a textual analysis of 40 published articles using Liu and Tseng’s (2021) framework, which expands upon Hyland’s (2005) metadiscourse model to identify the frequency and distribution of hedges (e.g., may, suggest) and boosters (e.g., clearly, demonstrate), alongside a quantitative analysis involving a pre- and post-lecture questionnaire administered to 36 students to assess shifts in understanding and attitudes following a two-lecture  instructional workshop focused on hedging and boosting strategies. Textual analysis revealed systematic inconsistencies: students overused hedges, and underused boosters compared to norms in international journals. Post-intervention questionnaire results showed limited improvement in theoretical knowledge, with students continuing to struggle in applying metadiscourse markers appropriately in practice. The study suggests that cultural and contextual factors, such as L1 Arabic rhetorical norms favoring assertiveness, may shape these choices, combined with insufficient prior training. To address this, the findings advocate for discipline-specific writing instruction in Moroccan academia, including contrastive rhetoric exercises, scaffolded editing tasks, and collaborative peer-review frameworks to enhance students’ adherence to international scientific conventions. Keywords: Hedges, boosters, academic writing, scientific discourse, textual analysis, pre- and post-lecture questionnair
