EFFECT OF TURNING PARAMETERS AND COOLANT USAGE ON TOOL WEAR IN LATHE PROCESS - REVIEW
Turning products must have high quality. The quality of turning results can be affected by tool wear. Turning parameters and the use of coolant are the main factors that can control the level of wear, because they can control the temperature and cutting force during turning. This study aims to examine the effect of turning parameters and coolant use on tool wear in the lathe process. The main parameters analysed include spindle rotation speed, depth of cut, and feed rate. In addition, the role of coolant as a coolant and lubricant is also studied in relation to controlling tool wear. The method used was a literature study. The results showed that all turning parameters have an influence on tool wear, with depth of cut as the most significant factor in increasing wear. High spindle speeds and large feeding motions also accelerate wear due to increased friction and temperature in the cutting zone. This means that the greater the parameter values used, the greater the tool wear. Where with a depth of cut of 0.05 mm causes tool wear of 0.094 mm, while with a depth of cut of 1.5 mm causes tool wear of 0.746 mm. With a spindle rotation speed of 185 rpm the tool wear is 2 mm, while with a spindle rotation speed of 2200 rpm the tool wear is 11.36 µm. With a feed motion of 0.05 mm/rev the tool wear was 0.094 mm, while with a feed motion of 1.5 mm/rev the tool wear was 0.746 mm. The use of coolant proved effective in lowering the cutting temperature, reducing friction, and extending tool life. The results of this study can serve as a practical reference in the selection of cutting parameters and cooling strategies to improve efficiency and tool life in the turning process
Correlation Analysis of Battery Capacity, Range, and Charging Time in Electric Vehicles Using Pearson Correlation and MATLAB Regression
The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) reflects growing global awareness of climate change and air pollution challenges. As a sustainable alternative to conventional internal combustion vehicles, EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions and can significantly reduce carbon emissions—particularly when powered by renewable energy sources. However, one of the primary barriers to widespread EV adoption remains the high cost of battery components, which are essential to vehicle performance and energy storage. In Indonesia, two dominant battery types used in EVs are Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC), each offering distinct advantages. LFP batteries are recognized for their thermal stability and longer life cycles, making them suitable for everyday use, while NMC batteries offer higher energy density and are preferred for performance-focused and long-distance applications. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between battery capacity, driving range, and charging time for LFP and NMC batteries using Pearson correlation and regression analysis through MATLAB simulation. The results indicate a strong and statistically significant correlation among the key parameters, with a Pearson coefficient of 0.576 for battery capacity and range, and an R-square value of 0.99 for the regression model, demonstrating high predictive accuracy. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that LFP batteries have a higher average energy efficiency of 7.53 km/kWh compared to 6.84 km/kWh for NMC batteries, indicating more consistent performance in energy usage. These findings offer valuable insights for optimizing battery selection in EV applications and contribute to strategic planning for the development of more efficient electric vehicle systems. The combination of statistical and simulation-based analysis provides a robust foundation for future research and policy-making in the field of electric mobility
Pengembangan Model Prediksi Diabetes Melitus Menggunakan Metode Stochastic Gradient Boosting
Diabetes mellitus is one of the global health issues with a continuously increasing prevalence. Its high prevalence significantly impacts economic burdens and healthcare systems, as it often leads to severe complications such as cardiovascular diseases and kidney failure. Therefore, early prediction and detection of diabetes mellitus are crucial in mitigating its adverse effects. Data mining and machine learning technologies offer innovative solutions for processing complex medical data, providing deeper insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This study aims to develop a diabetes mellitus prediction model using the Stochastic Gradient Boosting (SGB) algorithm. The model utilizes a dataset comprising clinical variables such as glucose levels, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and genetic history to identify diabetes risk. The results indicate that the developed prediction model demonstrates high performance across various dataset splitting ratios: 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. The model achieved the highest accuracy of 95.50% at the 70:30 ratio, with an AUC (Area Under the Curve) value of 0.9862, showcasing its ability to effectively differentiate between positive (diabetes) and negative (non-diabetes) classes. At the 80:20 and 90:10 ratios, the model achieved accuracies of 92.75% and 92.31%, with AUC values of 0.9767 and 0.9777, respectively, indicating consistent performance. The model’s high accuracy is attributed to the iterative boosting approach in the SGB algorithm, which adaptively corrects prediction errors at each iteration. Additionally, regulatory mechanisms such as learning rate and subsampling help prevent overfitting, making the algorithm effective for datasets with complex patterns
“Ono rego ono rupo”: Empirical Investigation of Intention to Purchase in Javanese Philosophy
Objectives: The development of technology and information is increasing, as evidenced by the substantial sales of smartphones with various designs and features. Consumers perceive that upon the launch of a new smartphone, the older model becomes obsolete, leading to high levels of electronic waste. This study aims to explore the role of environmental awareness, eco-friendly products, green trust, and consumer attitudes in environmentally friendly smartphone purchases and examines how consumer attitudes mediate these relationships.Methodology: The research adopts the theory of planned behavior and integrates it with the Javanese philosophy of ono rego ono rupo. Questionnaires were distributed to 250 respondents in several cities in Indonesia through an online platform. Structural equation modeling, using Smart-PLS software, was then employed to analyze the data. The study reveals that consumers with high environmental awareness believe that purchasing environmentally friendly smartphones can mitigate various negative aspectsFinding: The study also uncovers a positive relationship between green products, green trust, and green purchase intention, as consumers associate them with good quality, convenience, and features. Practical insights and marketing theories for smartphones are provided based on these findings
Driving Financial Sustainability Through Organizational Consulting in the ESG Era: Insights from Indonesia
Objective: This research investigates the role of organizational consulting in promoting financial sustainability by integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, with a particular focus on businesses in Indonesia. The study aims to explore how ESG integration can contribute to business growth and rural development in the context of emerging economies.Methodology: A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews with organizational consultants and corporate leaders to gather primary data. This was complemented by secondary data analysis from corporate reports and relevant academic literature, providing a comprehensive understanding of the subject.Findings: The findings reveal that ESG integration significantly enhances financial performance, operational efficiency, and investor confidence. Moreover, the adoption of ESG practices contributes to rural development by strengthening local economies and infrastructure. However, challenges such as limited resources, cultural resistance, and a lack of technical expertise impede the widespread adoption of ESG practices, particularly among SMEs. Organizational consulting plays a pivotal role in addressing these challenges through tailored strategies and capacity-building initiatives that support organizations in achieving their sustainability goals.Conclusion: This research underscores the importance of organizational consulting in overcoming barriers to ESG integration, particularly in emerging economies. It emphasizes the need for localized and collaborative approaches to optimize the financial, social, and environmental benefits of sustainability initiatives. The study advances the understanding of ESG integration and offers practical insights for businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders in aligning sustainability goals with financial and social objectives
The Effect of Innovation Capability on Export Performance (Study on wood handicraft SMEs in Bali)
Objectives: This study adopts the theory of Service Dominant Logic (SDL) because a product must provide appropriate value for its target customers, and a value must be created with its customers as developed in the concept of value co-creation. This study aims to find an appropriate framework in improving the export performance of handicraft SMEs in Bali.Methodology: This research is a type of associative research. The population in this study were all SME's wood craft in Bali, which amounted to 242 companies with the owner or manager as the unit of analysis. Sampling using the census method. The analysis technique uses Partial Least Square. The response rate in this study was 80.17%, because as many as 46 closed and two SMEs were not willing to fill out the questionnaire.Finding: The implication of this research is that it can assist in making decisions and policies at the company level related to innovation capability, aesthetic-utilitarian value, and positional advantage in improving export performance.Conclusion: Wood craft SMEs that are able to create products with aesthetic-utilitarian value consisting of three dimensions, namely visual benefits, physical benefits and functional benefits will be able to increase their export performance
The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Organizational Performance in the Digital Government Era
The rapid advancement of digital government has reshaped organizational structures, decision-making processes, and leadership dynamics. This study explores the impact of transformational leadership on organizational performance in the digital government era using a qualitative research approach. Through in-depth interviews with government officials, policy analysts, and digital transformation experts, this research examines how transformational leadership traits such as vision, motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration enhance performance, innovation, and adaptability in public institutions. Findings indicate that transformational leaders play a crucial role in fostering a culture of digital innovation, encouraging employee engagement, and driving effective change management. Leaders who exhibit proactive strategies and inspire a shared vision significantly contribute to improved public service delivery, cross-sector collaboration, and institutional resilience in navigating digital transformation challenges. Additionally, this study highlights the barriers to leadership effectiveness, including bureaucratic inertia, resistance to change, and skill gaps in digital competencies. The analysis underscores the importance of continuous leadership development programs and a supportive digital infrastructure to maximize the benefits of transformational leadership in the public sector. This study contributes to the discourse on public administration modernization by providing insights into leadership strategies that enhance government efficiency, agility, and citizen-centric service delivery. Future research should explore quantitative models to measure the correlation between transformational leadership and key performance indicators in digital governance
The Benefits and Challenges of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Business in Pertamina’s Gasoline Station: Focused on Energy Transition, Sustainability & Green Investment
Objectives: As the world shifts towards green energy solutions, PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned energy company, is in a unique position to lead by integrating Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems into its extensive network of gasoline stations. As per now, Pertamina has built Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) in 358 gasoline stations not only in Indonesia but also in East Timor. This research paper explores the benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of Solar PV. The study highlights key benefits in energy transition, sustainability & green investment. However, several challenges arise.Methodology: Descriptive and qualitative methods were used. The study focuses on Solar PV in gasoline station in Pertamina area. In-depth interviews and participant observations were used to collect data.Finding: reveal a significant green energy production, reduction in carbon footprint, making it a sustainable energy business for Pertamina. Nonetheless, the challenges of high upfront costs, space limitations, and potential maintenance and operation challenges are also identified.Conclusion: Solar PV systems offer significant potential benefits for Pertamina’s gasoline stations, including green energy production, environmental sustainability, cost reduction, and enhanced energy security. Despite challenges related to high upfront costs, space limitations, and regulatory barriers, Pertamina’s leadership in renewable energy positions the company to overcome these obstacles and drive the adoption of solar PV technology across its gasoline station network. By investing in solar PV systems, Pertamina can play a critical role in advancing Indonesia’s renewable energy goals, reducing carbon emissions, and demonstrating its commitment to sustainability. Through strategic partnerships, policy advocacy, and scalable deployment models, Pertamina has the potential to become a leader in solar PV adoption at gasoline stations, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for Indonesia
The Influence of Covid-19 on Business Sustainability with Corporate Action as a Moderation Variable
Objectives: This study aims to test: 1) the influence of Covid-19 on Business Sustainability; 2) the influence of Covid-19 on Business Sustainability with Corporate Action as a moderation.Methodology: This study uses secondary data. The sampling method uses purposive sampling. The sample used was 32 companies listed on the IDX that carried out corporate actions in 2020. Hypothesis testing 1 and 2 used the t-test. Hypothesis testing 3 used the F test because it contains elements of interaction between two.Finding: The results of the Covid-19 study proxied by ROE did not show an effect on business sustainability, while those proxied by Current Ratio showed an effect on business sustainability. The Covid-19 and Corporate Action variables as moderating variables jointly affect business sustainability.Conclusion: The impact of Covid 19 and corporate actions have an important role and have been proven to jointly affect business sustainability. Liquidity needs to be maintained to ensure that business sustainability runs effectively considering the impact of Covid-19. On the other hand, profitability does not affect business sustainability, because cash flow is not smooth, where cash flow is a source of business sustainability. Corporate action policies to attract interest and restore investor confidence in the company amidst the spread of Covid-19, thus impacting business sustainability
PODCAST BOCOR ALUS POLITIK’S ROLE IN BUILDING GEN Z'S POLITICAL AWARENESS AHEAD THE 2024 ELECTION
This study explores how Tempo Media Group’s Bocor Alus Politik podcast enhances Generation Z’s political awareness as beginner voters in the 2024 Election. Available on Spotify and YouTube, this podcast was designed to meet the visual preferences of young people. Since it’s launch on May 20, 2023, it has launched several episodes which sparked public discussions and opinions towards the political figures. Using the uses and gratifications theory, this qualitative study with in-depth interviews and social media observations finds that Bocor Alus Politik significantly shapes Gen Z’s perception of the 2024 Election, demonstrating social media’s impact on fostering political awareness among young voters
