A study of materials on the endothermic reaction in lower secondary school science : The experimental condition using sodium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid
The endothermic reaction is studied in lower secondary school science. In the text book, however, the reagents that require caution such as ammonium chloride and barium hydroxide were used for this experiment. Thus, in the present study, to obtain the suitable conditions for the endothermic reaction using sodium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid instead of ammonium chloride and barium hydroxide, we examined the effects of amount and ratio of the reagents on the reaction.departmental bulletin pape

Attempting to promote a student with physical disability proactive attitude in self-reliance activity
This study aims to implement and evaluate self-reliance activity for a student with physical disabilities, based on the concept of fostering independence in their activities. The purpose is to consider strategies for instructional planning and support that enable the target student to actively engage in learning activities. The subject of this study is a male student with cerebral palsy who are in the 6th grade and enrolled in a special support class at an elementary school. Over the course of 12 sessions of self-reliance activities, various tasks were undertaken to improve walking performance, including tasks related to ankle relaxation, maintaining a kneeling posture, and walking. Over these 12 sessions, improvements were observed in the subjects’ ability to maintain a kneeling posture and his walking performance. While in the midst of self-reliance activities, it was noted that the student had previously experienced anxiety and a decrease in motivation when faced with difficult or new tasks. However, he exhibited a willingness to take on new challenges. Additionally, he showed an inclination to understand his own body’s state. Notably, he not only engaged in self-reliance activities during the sessions but also demonstrated motivation to work on movement-related tasks at home. As key points for this success, it was concluded that : 1. Explanation using words and videos to ensure that the tasks are understood by the children. 2. Accumulating successful experiences. 3. Establishing communication and creating a positive learning atmosphere are crucial in the process of self-reliance activities.departmental bulletin pape
Support for children with severe and multiple disabilities in remote areas of Thailand : Building a collaborative system with related organizations
The purpose of this study is to propose educational support methods for children with severe and multiple disabilities living in remote areas in Thailand, and to collaborate with related organizations for inclusive communities. The first author visited a special education center and conducted a survey to understand the educational situation of children with disabilities. After that, visited each home of children with disabilities in Koh Chang, Trat Province to search for activities that meet their individual needs. At the same time, set up a PATH meeting with local stakeholders to share information about the future of the target children. Furthermore, revisit Koh Chang in a few months and re-propose activities. In addition, with the participation and cooperation of related organizations, held a workshop on supporting children with disabilities and collected comments from the participants. Through these educational practices, shared the need to provide basic education to children with severe and multiple disabilities in developing countries and how should cooperate with parents and related organizations. It also created the beginning of building partnerships aimed at creating an inclusive community.departmental bulletin pape
Japanese College Students’ Understanding of the Present Perfect Tense and Its Correlation With General Grammar Knowledge, English Proficiency, and Vocabulary Size
This paper focuses on the present perfect tense, which is difficult for Japanese learners of English. Correlation between the comprehension of this tense and English proficiency, general grammar knowledge, and vocabulary size is examined using a sample of Japanese university students. Students’ explicit knowledge of the tense and experience of learning it are also examined. Measures included a present perfect tense comprehension test, a grammar test, and an additional questionnaire. Correlations were plotted using scores from these measures and scores from the TOEIC-IP and V-check (vocabulary size test). The results showed that present perfect comprehension had a weak relationship with reading skills and grammar knowledge, and no relationship with listening skills and vocabulary size. The questionnaire showed that the top- and bottom-performing groups on the present perfect comprehension test had similar learning experiences and a similar amount of knowledge of the tense.departmental bulletin pape
人工知能(AI)は日本の労働力不足を解決しないかもしれない : 知識ベースの仕事の空前の自動化?
Japan’s labor market suffers from labor shortages, especially in manual and physical jobs, a problem that will be exacerbated in the short and medium term by demographic collapse and an aging population. In this context, one possible solution is automation through artificial intelligence (AI) and robotization. However, research on AI and its effects on the U.S. labor market concludes that the jobs with the greatest exposure to this new technology are high-skill jobs and those based in the knowledge economy. If so, the effectiveness of automation in addressing Japan’s labor shortages in the most affected sectors will require other strategies. departmental bulletin pape
Criteria for Recognition of Tang Ships’ ‘Drifting’ and Repatriation Measures in the Case of Shipwrecks : Focused on the Amakusa Drifting Incident in the Fifth Year of the Bunsei Era.
I examined the role played by Amakusa, the forefront base in Nagasaki, in the repatriation system for drifting ships. First, I explored the concept of “drifting,” which serves as a prerequisite for repatriation measures, discussing it as a sign for swift responses to promptly address emergencies and to understand the navigation conditions of Tang ships.Next, attention was directed to shipwrecks as one type of drifting incident, and a case study was conducted. Responding to shipwrecks involved the possibility of Tang people landing, prompting the establishment of a surveillance system to prevent illegal activities. To promptly secure the substantial funds required for such responses, merchants provided support, and a system was implemented for the entire district to share the financial burden. The maritime surveillance by lookout teams and district-wide collaboration in responding to drifting ships in Amakusa contributed to supporting and functioning within the repatriation system for Tang ships.departmental bulletin pape
