Development and Web Publication of Digital Teaching Materials Contributing to Special Support Education for Intellectual Disabilities : Usefulness of Teaching Materials Considered from the Actual State of Utilization
Get PDFThe Purpose of This Study Is to Examine the Educational Usefulness of the Digital Teaching Materials Available on Teach U, a Website for Distributing Digital Teaching Materials for Education of the Mentally Retarded. First, We Conducted a Follow-up Survey of Teach U Users. The Results Showed That the Following Reasons Were Given for Using Teach U’s Digital Teaching Materials in the Classroom: 1) They Promote Students’ Spontaneity, 2) They Promote Students’ Understanding, 3) Teachers Can Actively Use Them, 4) Teachers Can Customize Them, and 5) They Are Easy to Use Teaching Materials. The Advantages for Students Are as Follows: 1) the Concepts of the Study Contents Are Visualized by Animation, Etc., Making Them Easy to Understand; 2) Students Can Learn Independently and Enjoyably Through Game Elements and QuizForm ats; 3) Customized Teaching Materials Enable Students to Learn Contents at the Appropriate Stage of Learning.departmental bulletin pape
School and local efforts supporting the aging society in Kagoshima Prefecture : The role of home economics teachers in connecting schools to the local community
Get PDFAs Japanese society ages, learning about the aging process and the elderly in junior high school home economics is given more and more importance.
In this paper, we consider the issues of local aging and nursing care in the future, with a focus on nursing care day and its relationship with school-community partnership in Kagoshima.
For this purpose, we researched events at nursing homes as well as school-community partnership projects in Kagoshima Prefecture and Ibusuki City. As part of this process, we interviewed Mr. Takehiro Kariya, Yoshimoto comedian, and a visiting lesson lecturer at a Kagoshima nursing home.
Our results were as follows: 1) the image of the elderly and nursing care was altered by visiting lessons by this comedian. The students laughed a lot when had a comedian as a guest in home economics class. 2) Home economics teachers are expected to play a role as community coordinators, connecting schools to the community, in order to share any problems at school with the community, and further to enrich the content of home economics lessons. Home economics teachers who understand community characteristics and conditions can be expected to help expand on various connections between teachers of other subjects or home economics teachers.departmental bulletin pape
