Development of Self-Assessment Scales for Learning Strategies in Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing Students.

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to elucidate learning strategies for nursing students in 'Anatomy' and 'Physiology,' and to develop self-assessment scales for learning strategies in 'Anatomy' and 'Physiology'. From December 2021 to February 2022, a survey was conducted targeting a total of 468 nursing students from four universities and two nursing vocational schools, either through questionnaires or via the web.The survey items included demographics along with a draft of a 53-item learning strategy scale and an 8-item self-efficacy scale. The valid responses were 237 for 'Anatomy' and 194 for 'Physiology'. The self-assessment scale for 'Anatomy' consisted of 4 factors with 35 items, and the self-assessment scale for 'Physiology' had 4 factors with 40 items. The overall Cronbach's α reliability coefficient for the learning strategy scale in 'Anatomy' was 0.934, with sub-factors ranging from 0.912 to 0.716. For the learning strategy scale in 'Physiology', the overall Cronbach's α reliability coefficient was 0.936, with the first factor ranging from 0.908 to 0.765. As a criterion related validity, the correlatio n between the total score of the learning strategy scale and the self-efficacy scale was examined. As a result, a positive correlation was observed between the 'Anatomy' learning strategy scale (ρ=.451) and the 'Physiology' learning strategy scale (ρ=.481). Based on the results of Cronbach's α reliability coefficient, it was determined that the created 'Anatomy' learning strategy scale and the 'Physiology' learning strategy scale ensured internal consistency. Furthermore, given the positive correl ation observed with the external criterion of self-efficacy scale, it was determined that criterion-related validity was established. Considering potential interactions among learning strategies, it was suggested that efforts should be made to enable students to utilize as many learning strategies as possible in order to facilitate their learning.departmental bulletin pape

Richard Ⅲ, the Monster : Representation of Monstrosity from the Perspective of Entertainment Culture

    Get PDF
The excavation of Richard III’s remains by the University of Leicester in 2012 revealed that Richard III’s physical deformity was not a mere exaggeration in Shakespeare’s works, but rather a factual embellishment. While Shakespeare in his own works further demonized the ‘disabled’ Richard portrayed in Thomas More’s ‘The History of King Richard the Thirde’, one wonders how the contemporaneous audience consumed this monstrosity attributed to Richard. In ‘Henry VI, Part 3’, Richard declares, ‘Proteus is not more flexible in shape-changing than I am.’ Records of performances at Bartholomew Fair by acrobats began to emerge in the 17th century, with a focus on bodily contortions as a central act. Acrobats, such as Joseph Clark who performed at Southwark Fair, were noted by diarist John Evelyn to have earned money by portraying a hunchbacked individual, and were praised for their Protean-like transformations. This paper points out that concepts like deformity and monstrosity were not only anatomical phenomena since Aristotle’s time, but also sources of the playwright’s imagination.departmental bulletin pape

    Pangenom Ⅱ

    Get PDF
First, I explain again the ideas of Pangenom (Pangenome) and Ursegnung (proto-blessing), originally presented in my “Pangenom: A Biotheological Essay” (2020), adding some new points. I then introduce and amplify the concepts of Urbild der Menschen (human proto-picture), whirl of life, enslaving system, and Eurasian slavery civilisation (type I and II). A civilisation, I believe, is nothing other than the totality of multiple, mutually related enslaving systems, each constituted for the strong exploiting the weak, by intervening in the whirl of human life. So every civilisation (at least known one) is, essentially, a slavery civilisation. At the end, I make a short suggestion about the way out of enslaving systems and the slavery civilisation (type II).departmental bulletin pape

A Study on the Current Status of Employment Support for Persons with Disabilities and Worker Characteristics in Support for Continuous Employment

    Get PDF
In Japan, there is an increasing trend of individuals with disabilities gaining employment within the private sector, with many utilizing the welfare system for assistance in job placement. Currently, fewer than 30% of people with disabilities are employed, and approximately 25% are not protected by labor laws. Individuals with physical disabilities predominantly find employment in private companies. However, individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, who often require more sustained support, are less likely to be covered by labor legislation. This paper examines the present state of employment and job support for individuals with disabilities, with the aim of fostering an inclusive society that accommodates the employment aspirations of all persons with disabilities. The discussion extends to the employment characteristics of individuals with disabilities who engage in continuous employment support programs.departmental bulletin pape

Silence or Admiration? Regarding the Chinese translation of Takeda Taijun’s Literary Criticism in Dunlin magazine

    Get PDF
The literary critiques written by Takeda Taijun( 1912-1976) during the wartime period, titled China and Japanese Literature (published in Bungei magazine, July 1943) and Chinese People and Japanese Literature (published in Kokusai Bunka magazine, September 1943), have been confirmed to have been translated and featured in a magazine called Dunlin, which was published in Beijing under Japanese occupation. Amid wartime censorship, some intellectuals adopted an “admiration” stance, while others opted for “silence”. There’s a distinct sense that these two Chinese translations didn’t align with the propagandist ideology of the time. It is plausible that they were expressing their views on the translation strategy for the overseas promotion of Japanese literature advocated by the Japanese military and on the topic of “Japan-China cultural exchange”. This sheds light on the diverse dimensions of literary activities and the various facets of translated literature by intellectuals operating in the occupied territories.departmental bulletin pape
