Reflections from a mock citizen workshop, ‘On the amendment of the Hotel Business Act’ (2) : Focusing on the issues of ‘information recipients’
In this second paper, based on the results of the mock citizen workshop described in the first paper, we examine the process by which the positions of individual participants changed and the differences in the direction of opinion exchange in each group arose. In addition, we summarize suggestions regarding the way of scientific communication on infectious disease control measures, particularly regarding the issues of “information recipients.” To this end, we present the responses to the free-form questions in the questionnaire, analyze how participants received the information provided in each session, and examine their comments regarding the suggested reasons for refusing accommodation.departmental bulletin pape
A study on the shifts in educational interests of high school home economics teachers : Focusing on lectures and research activities in Kumamoto no kateika kyouiku
This study explores the shifts in educational interests of high school home economics teachers in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, by analyzing lecture and research records published in Kumamoto no Kateika Kyouiku from 1969 to 2023. Using a combination of tag-based content analysis and text mining, the study identifies how teachers’ focus evolved in response to curriculum reforms, emerging social issues, and regional needs. The findings reveal a transition from skill-based instruction to more collaborative, inquiry-driven, and locally rooted practices. Notably, the study highlights the role of teacher-led research groups and curriculum development efforts in adapting to changes such as gender-integrated education and the introduction of new subject structures. While the study centers on general high school programs, it does not extensively address specialized home economics courses, Home Economics Club, or Home Economics Technical Certification. These areas remain important for future research to fully understand the diversity of home economics education in Kumamoto.departmental bulletin pape
Creating math lessons that nurture the development of children into “connecting learning” : -Through the unit design that focuses on performance tasks-
In this study, we propose a unit design based on the theory of "Backward Design" in the content "D. How to organize data and represent them clearly." We also examined how these classroom practices based on this unit design have an effect on children's acquisition of knowledge and utilization skills. As a result, we found the following two things. First, by developing a unit design that aims to create mathematics lessons that are conscious of connections with daily life, instructors are able to clarify the necessary teaching perspective and focus of lesson content for each lesson in the unit. Next, it was suggested that this unit design not only produces good results on the contractor's evaluation test, but also improves students' qualities and abilities and develops their "utilization skills".departmental bulletin pape
