Organizational Factors Influencing the Care Experience of Children and Their Families in General Paediatric Inpatient Wards: A Scoping Review Protocol
This scoping review aims to systematically map and synthesize the existing evidence on organizational factors that influence the care experience of children and their families during hospitalization in general paediatric medical and surgical wards.
The purpose of the review is to identify which organizational elements—such as staffing models, leadership, communication practices, institutional culture, physical environment, and caregiver support systems—affect the perceived quality of care from the perspective of children and their families. The care experience is understood broadly, encompassing emotional, relational, environmental, and structural aspects of care, including parental satisfaction, child well-being, and family involvement in the care process.
The review is guided by the Fundamentals of Care (FoC) Framework, which emphasizes the role of organizational context in delivering person-centred and relationship-based care.
The methodology follows the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) guidelines for scoping reviews and includes a systematic search of four major databases and grey literature sources. A wide range of primary study designs will be included, and the results will be presented through descriptive and thematic analyses.
The findings will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publications, conferences, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This work contributes to advancing child-friendly healthcare environments in paediatric hospital settings
Differences in the Opinions of Students and Academic Staff on the Need for Guidelines for the Use of Generative AI in Social Science Studies and Research
Purpose
The rapid integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools into academic research has led to considerable debate about their proper use. However, most publications have been related to STEM, while less attention has been paid to the social sciences.
Design/methodology/approach
This study compares the contrasting perspectives of students and academic staff on the need for formal guidelines governing the use of GenAI in social science studies and research. Using a mixed methods approach, combining critical analysis of scientific articles and a survey of students and academic staff in the Baltic region, we identify the main differences in attitudes, perceived risks, and expectations.
Findings
Statistical tests of the survey results allow us to conclude that statistically significant differences are observed among students, both in terms of age and level of study of respondents, as well as research experience and country of residence. On the other hand, there are significant differences among academic staff only in terms of research experience. There are no significant differences of opinion between the two study groups on the need for guidelines for GenAI use by gender.
Practical implications
The findings reveal a generational and experience gap in the perceived role of GenAI, highlighting the urgent need for inclusive, discipline-specific frameworks that address both innovation and academic rigor.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the ongoing discussion on the responsible integration of GenAI in academia and offers recommendations for policy development that reflect the diverse needs of the academic community

The role and function of nurse immunisers in delivering the national immunisation program in Australia: A scoping review
Nurse immunisers are a critical component of Australia's immunisation workforce; however, their scope of practice, models of service delivery, regulatory frameworks and contributions to immunisation vary across jurisdictions and practice settings. A comprehensive synthesis of evidence is lacking. The purpose of this review is to identify, examine and review the breadth of literature relating to how nurse immunisers contribute to the planning, coordination and administration of vaccines within the Australian National Immunisation Program (NIP) and associated immunisation initiatives. This review will explore how nurse-led immunisation services operate across diverse context including primary care, public health care, community health services, schools, outreach programs and aged care settings. It will also examine reported enablers, barriers, workforce capabilities, education and credentialling requirements, policy influences and service delivery outcomes (e.g. vaccine coverage by states/territories).
This review will follow the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses Scoping Review (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines including searching for peer-reviewed and grey literature, transparent study selection and structured data charting to map key concepts, types of evidence and characteristics of nurse immuniser roles and functions. Findings will be reported descriptively and thematically using Braun and Clarke's (2022) reflexive thematic analysis approach for qualitative data
Mindfulness in Relationships: Eight-Week Mindfulness Intervention Associated with Decreased Negative Emotion and Increased Nonreactivity in Non-Meditating Romantic Partners
Objectives
Mindfulness meditation is widely recognized for its individual psychological benefits, yet its interpersonal effects remain underexplored. This daily diary study examined whether and how mindfulness practice by one romantic partner influences the emotional well-being of their non-meditating partner.
Methods
Using a randomized controlled design, couples were assigned to either an 8-week mindfulness-based course condition (MBCC) or an active control—a positive psychology course condition (PPCC)—with only one partner participating in the intervention.
Results
Results from 32 MBCC couples and 27 PPCC couples indicated that course participants and their partners in the MBCC exhibited reductions in negative emotion over time. In addition, MBCC partners showed a significant increase in the mindfulness facet of nonreactivity, which was not observed in partners in the PPCC. Further analysis revealed that MBCC partners’ negative emotion was predicted by the previous day nonreactivity of their course participating partners.
Conclusions
These results highlight that nonreactivity may both be an important interpersonal outcome and mechanism of meditation interventions. Future research is needed to better understand the precise role of nonreactivity in relationships

“IoT Early Flood Detection & Avoidance System” is an intelligent system
which keeps close watch over various natural factors to predict a flood, so we can
embrace ourselves for caution, to minimize the damage caused by the flood. Natural
disasters like a flood can be devastating leading to property damage and loss of lives.
To eliminate or lessen the impacts of the flood, the system uses various natural factors
to detect flood. The system has a wifi connectivity, thus it’s collected data can be
accessed from anywhere quite easily using IoT.
To detect a flood the system observes various natural factors, which includes
humidity, temperature, water level and flow level. To collect data of mentioned natural
factors the system consist of different sensors which collects data for individual
parameters. For detecting changes in humidity and temperature the system has a
DHT11 Digital Temperature Humidity Sensor. It is a advanced sensor module with
consists of resistive humidity and temperature detection components. The water level
is always under observation by a float sensor, which work by opening and closing
circuits (dry contacts) as water levels rise and fall. It normally rest in the closed
position, meaning the circuit is incomplete and no electricity is passing through the
wires yet. Once the water level drops below a predetermined point, the circuit
completes itself and sends electricity through the completed circuit to trigger an alarm.
The flow sensor on the system keeps eye on the flow of water.
The water flow sensor consists of a plastic valve body, a water rotor, and a hall-
effect sensor. When water flows through the rotor, rotor rolls. Its speed changes with
different rate of flow. All the sensors are connected to Microcontroller, which
processes and saves data. The system has wifi feature, which is useful to access the
system and its data over IoT
