The glucose reducing effects of a physical regimen combining putu sila and tai chi in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the public health center of bima

    Get PDF
Diabetes mellitus hyperglycemia is a chronic disease characterized by the absence of insulin or a relative decrease in cell insensitivity to insulin that requires continuous treatment and ongoing self-management to prevent acute complications and reduce the risk of chronic complications. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is particularly by physical activity. This study aims to understand the difference between two exercise regimens on blood glucose levels reduction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test post-test control group design. 60 respondents were selected via random sampling and divided evenly into two groups of 30 individuals: 1) the treatment group; and 2) the control group. A Wilcoxon test performed on the treatment group yielded P-value = 0,005 < ? = 0,05 and a Wilcoxon test performed on the control group yielded P-value = 0,046 < ? = 0,05. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that physical activity has an effect of reducing blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and, when comparing the differences in blood glucose level reduction, a combined regimen of putu sila and Tai Chi is more effective than Tai Chi alone

Gymnastics reduces the risk of falling in the elderly at social centers elderly meci angi bima

The Elderly has the risk of falling due to physical weakness resulting in disruption of body balance which can be improved through regular balance exercises to increase the strength of the lower limb muscles. This research aimed at analyzing the effect of before and after gymnastic balance against the risk of falling the elderly at Social Center Meci Angi Bima. The research design that was utilized was a quasi-experimental research design by one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the Paired t-test with a probability value of 95%, ? = 0.05 showed that p = 0.000 (p ?0.05). The result showed that in this study there is a significant effect between balance gymnastics and the risk of falling in the elderly

Combination therapy of dry cupping and Pece Kau'a (traditional therapy in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara Province in Indonesia) against blood pressure

    Get PDF
This research aimed at investigating the influence of combination therapy of cupping and Pece Kau'a on hypertensive patients. The research design that was utilized was experimental design by a pretest-posttest control group approach. The population of this research was all patients who suffered from hypertension in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara Province in Indonesia. The sample in this research was 60 respondents and this sampling utilized a randomized control trial. The results showed that combination therapy of dry cupping and Pece Kau'a on hypertensive patients could reduce the average of systolic and diastolic blood pressure with a p-value of 0.000. Therapy of dry cupping and Pece Kau’a is expected to be an alternative for medical action in nursing services both in hospitals and Public Health Centers. Besides, the combination therapy of dry cupping and Pece Kau’a could be developed more again

Advances in applications of non-destructive testing (NDT): a review

    Get PDF
Manufacturing defects and discontinuities in a product are anomalies which can lead to severe damages which may sometimes involve loss of life. These defects must be examined and corrected before the product goes into service. There are two methods of testing a product for defects and discontinuities viz. Destructive Testing and Non-Destructive Testing. Destructive Testing entails subjecting the product to conditions that leads to failure of the product whereas Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is the process of examining the products for defects in a way in which it retains its usefulness for future service. This paper discusses various methods involved in NDT such as Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Acoustic Emission and Eddy Current Testing with a major focus on  advances in the applications of NDT

Comprehensive assessment and its relationship with high school students learning

    Get PDF
The research aims to analyze comprehensive assessment and its relationship with student learning in a particular educational unit in the city of Portoviejo. The applied methodology has a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), an exploratory research was carried out to analyze the problem. The research techniques used were the survey of the teaching staff of the institution and the academic averages of the elementary school students. The results reflected that in the institution the comprehensive evaluation is partially applied, which is reflected in an acceptable academic performance. It was concluded that teachers apply evaluative instruments as they deem necessary, there is no homogeneity between hetero-evaluation, co-evaluation and self-evaluation

Formula “ke-kame-tu” high protein and zinc as basic ingredients for under five years old supplementary feeding

    Get PDF
The aim of the research was to create a “ke-kame-tu” formula high in protein and zinc. Making the formula "ke-kame-tu" using a randomized block design, taste data obtained by organoleptic test followed by ANOVA analysis. Protein analysis using the micro-kjeldahl method, and zinc analysis using the spectrophotometric method. The “ke-kame-tu” formula consists of a mixture of moringa leaf flour, red bean flour and tuna fish flour with the following ratio (gram) that is F1 (15-70-15); F2 (15-60-25); F3 (15-50-35); F4 (15-40-45); F5 (15-30-55); F6 (15-20-65). The nutritional content of the "ke-kame-tu" formula is as follows: a) Zinc content between 17.28% (F6) to 23.87% (F1), b) Protein content between 16.49% (F6) to 26.97% (F2), and c) Fat content is between 4.20% (F1) to 5.93% (F5). The ke-kame-tu formula contains complete essential amino acids, namely the amino acids histidine, threonine, arginine, methionine, valine, phenylalanine, iso leusie, leucine and lysine and as the limiting amino acid is methionine. Supplementary feeding (PMT) N1 protein content 10.138 g; N2 9.683 g; N3 9.097 g; N4 9.243 g; N5 10,473g and N6 10,197g. The best PMT based on the acceptability test by the panelists is the nugget product added with the F2 formula (15-60-25)

Nursing care process in a user diagnosed with Acinetobacter baumannii

    Get PDF
This research work is conceived as the analysis of the nursing care process in a user with a diagnosis of Acinetobacter baumannii, for the methodology used is descriptive, with a non-experimental qualitative approach, since a study is carried out on the records of the nursing care applied to a polytraumatized patient with a history of a car accident, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit from the operating room, and later diagnosed with infection by Acinetobacter Baumannii, for which a care plan based on NANDA taxonomies was developed, NOC and NIC emphasizing the hemodynamic and respiratory improvement, which allowed the patient to achieve a positive evolution, managing to discharge her to general hospitalization without ventilator support

In this context, the article provides an overview of institutional learning, lessons learned, and economic impacts obtained by the Business Development Centers program, describing the central role of this innovative public policy that has responded actively and efficiently to the growth of the ventures and companies assisted between the years 2015-2019

Blended Learning is an Educational Innovation and Solution During the COVID-19 Pandemic

    Get PDF
The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed forced people to do more activities from home, including the learning process. The learning from home policy is not accompanied by rules and regulations such as what this learning process should be carried out. As a result, various learning processes emerged, from what they are to complex things. This study aims to find innovations and learning solutions during a pandemic, to support learning from home. Online learning is the only option. It's just that, based on the problems and constraints revealed, this online learning must be packaged like traditional face-to-face learning. The choice then turned to blended learning, with various adjustments. Face-to-face learning is carried out via video conference if needed only. The shortcomings are then overcome by compiling learning materials in the form of problem-based, text-based, video, or multimedia practical guides. The learning process is complemented by the opening of active interactive communication channels. Learning evaluation is carried out not only on results but also considering the process and self-evaluation. All of this learning process should be as optimal as possible using a mobile device or smartphone
