    The Smartphone industry has expanded significantly over the last few years. According to the available data, each year, a marked increase in the number of devices in use is observed. Most consumers opt for Smartphones due to the extensive number of software applications that can be downloaded on their devices, thus increasing their functionality. However, this growing trend of application installation brings an issue of user protection, as most applications seek permissions to access data on a user’s device. The risks this poses to sensitive data are real to both corporate and individual users. While Android has grown in popularity, this trend has not been followed by the efforts to increase the security of its users. This is a well-known set of problems, and prior solutions have approached it from the ground up; that is, they have focused on implementing reasonable security policies within Android’s open-source kernel. While these solutions have achieved the goals of improving Android with such security policies, they are severely hampered by the way in which they have been implemented them. In this work, a framework referred to as CenterYou is proposed to overcome these issues. It applies pseudo data technique and cloud-based decision-making system to scan and protect Smartphone devices from unnecessarily requested permissions by installed applications and identifies potential privacy leakages. The current paper demonstrated all aspects of the CenterYou application technical design. The work presented here provides a significant contribution to the field, as the technique based on pseudo data is used in the actual permissions administration of Android applications. Moreover, this system is user and cloud-driven, rather than being governed by over-privileged applications.</p

    Comparative evaluation of wind resources using the computer tool WAPs, case study of Mecheria West Algeria

    The aim of this work is to assess the wind potential in the Mecheriaregion, located in Western Algerian Hautes plains that are characterized by an important elevation average between 800m and 1400m, which has a major impact on wind speed acceleration. Using ten years of collected data from 2011 to 2021, the statistical analysis gives an annual mean wind speed equal to 5.6 m/s at 10m hub height above the ground level. Then four main types of wind turbines: NEG-Micon 44/750 kW, Nordex N50/800 kW, Vestas V50/850 kW and PowerWind 56/900 kW. are compared and analyzed using WAsP software to obtain the annual wind characteristics A, k, V and P for each wind turbine and select the most appropriate technology in the study area. Furthermore, an economic analysis was carried out by RETScreen software, to select the turbine that produces low cost and high capacity factors, and the results show that PwerWind 56 turbine is the most suitable one for the selected site.</p

Sorghum is a C4 plant which is originated and diversified in Ethiopia. It is used for feed, fuel, and consumed by human beings in the form of enjera, boiled porridge or gruel, malted beverages, beer, popped grain, and chips. In Ethiopia, biotic, socioeconomic, and abiotic restrictions limit sorghum production and productivity. Drought, Striga, disease, insect pests and etc are major problems Sorghum breeding program Melkassa Agricultural Research Center, which is part of the Ethiopian Agricultural Research Institute, is in charge of coordination in Ethiopia. National and regional sorghum improvement programs have released many open-pollinated and hybrid sorghum varieties for Ethiopia’s various agro-ecological zones. Nowadays to feed the world population the production and productivity of sorghum should be increased. As a result, the aim of this review is to evaluate the progress, successes, and challenges of sorghum production and productivity in Ethiopia.</p

    From the extension of the COVID-19 vaccination in December 2020 to the end of the summer of 2021, cases of breakthrough Infection in vaccinated people were rare and their attack rate was low (0.01%-5.5%). Of course, in light of the increase in vaccination rates, breakthrough Infection in vaccinated people progressively could represent the majority of all COVID-19 cases. But at the end of December 2021, the world registered the highest number of COVID-19 infections in a week. Just a few months ago, the evolution that seemed reasonable was thought to be the elimination of the pandemic. But Delta, and Omicron after, arrived; and we weren’t expecting them. The latter clearly evades immunity against vaccine-based infection, and breakthrough infections are becoming more common. This situation causes certain effects at the community level and has implications for the general practitioner: 1. Availability of vaccines has brought about a change that, when they began to be applied, seemed much more promising than it is currently; 2. This context may increase denial regarding COVID-19 vaccines; 3. Vaccination has contributed to an appreciable reduction in the number of serious and critical clinical cases; 4. Attack rates in vaccinated will increase as the proportion of vaccinated increases; 5. The importance of booster doses when immunity falls; 6. Incidence rates at the community level and official diagnostic tests will no longer be important.</p

    Renal Infarction (RI), a rare cause of renal damage characterized by the abrupt interruption of flow in the renal artery, is often recognized late or may even remain undiagnosed since symptoms are non-specific and may be confused with other pathologies, such as pyelonephritis or nephrolithiasis. In situ thrombosis and thromboembolism are the main causes, but often the real cause is, gf unrecognized. The disease is often underdiagnosed and the diagnosis of certainty can be established with ultrasonography Doppler of renal arteries or with second-level diagnostic tools (contrast-enhanced computer tomography, magnetic resonance with gadolinium, and renal scintigraphy) or third level tests (renal arteriography). The therapeutic approach depends on the cause of RI, from the time from onset of ischemia, from the presence of kidney function impairment, and may include systemic anticoagulant therapy, renal angioplasty with or without stenting, loco-regional endovascular fibrinolytic therapy or surgery, as the last chance. In literature, there are neither guidelines nor evidence about any treatment superiority. Here we describe a paradigmatic case in a 51-years-old man hospitalized because of sudden flank pain: the clinical picture, the high serum level. Moreover, we report our 7-years’ experience with 24 cases of RI, mean age 70 /±15 years, 14/24 men, 16/24 presented with hematuria, frequently associated with the history of CKD (16/24). Fifteen of them (62%) were classified as idiopathic and 9 of them were successfully treated with endovascular fibrinolytic treatment. A review of the literature is also provided.</p

    Today, jaundice is one of the most common problems in newborns. Loss of Red Blood Cells (RBC) is the cause of jaundice. RBC rupture is known as hemolysis, and if hemolysis occurs faster than the liver excretes, bilirubin levels in the body rise and leading to jaundice. Bilirubin is directly soluble in water and is transported to the liver and excreted in stages, most of which is excreted in the feces and a small amount is excreted in the urine. Measuring bilirubin levels in infants is one of the essential tests after birth. In measuring the amount of jaundice in infants, complex components such as the formation of body organs, compounds on the skin of the infant, and other parameters are involved. Making a device to measure the amount of jaundice. The difference in the methods of measuring and treating jaundice in infants depends on the condition of the infant with jaundice. Non-invasive methods are used in infants with low bilirubin levels, but in acute and critical cases, invasive and direct methods are used. Jaundice tests are performed on both infected and healthy infants and are not limited to sick infants.</p

Currently, detection methods such as counting methods, immunoassays, and biosensors have been developed for detecting foodborne pathogenic bacteria, and impedance sensors combined with microfluidic technology have received extensive attention. This paper outlines the advances and applications of microfluidic impedance biosensors for the detection of foodborne pathogens. And reviews the current advances in microfluidic impedance sensors based on transducer materials and detection techniques, including detection technology based on interdigitated microarrays electrode, electrophoresis technology, nanotechnology, etc. Finally, the challenges and development trends of current microfluidic impedance sensors are discussed.</p

    The Effect of Tai Chi on quality of life in seniors

    Objective: This study investigates the effect of Tai Chi exercise on the quality of life of seniors from a demographic perspective.&nbsp;Methods: The SF-36 Quality of Life Scale questionnaire was administered to 224 seniors in Wuhan, divided into an experimental group (n = 134, seniors who had participated in Tai Chi exercise for three years or more) and a control group (n = 90, seniors who had not received Tai Chi exercise). An independent samples t-test, one-way Analysis of Variance ANOVA, and dummy regression analysis are conducted using multivariate statistics.&nbsp;Results: (1) The quality of life scores for seniors who participated in Tai Chi exercise were significantly different from those who did not (p &lt; 0.01), mainly in the dimensions of Physical Functioning , Social Functioning , General Health , Vitality, and Health Transition; (2) The quality of life scores of the Tai Chi exercise group differed significantly (p &lt; 0.05) between the genders, with women being higher than men, but not between the age groups, residence patterns and pre-retirement occupations (p &gt; 0.05); (3) Highly significant differences in quality of life scores between the 61-90 minutes Tai Chi group and the &lt;60 minutes and &gt;90 minutes Tai Chi groups (F = 5.43, p &lt; 0.01); (4) There was a highly significant difference in quality of life scores between the Tai Chi group exercising 5-6 times a week or every day and the Tai Chi group exercising less than 4 times a week (F = 5.28, p &lt; 0.01), but not between the group exercising 5-6 times a week Tai Chi and the group exercising every day Tai Chi (t = -1.403, p &gt; 0.05).&nbsp;Conclusion: Practicing Tai Chi Chuan can improve the quality of life of seniors, but the effect is influenced by gender and the length and frequency of exercise.</p
