Sueños y realidades en las obras de poetas estadounidenses de origen latino-caribeño
Full text linkPoetic representations of dreams offer a compelling lens through which authors of Latino-Caribbean ancestry based in the USA explore migration, identity and historical trauma, revealing how individuals navigate belonging and diasporic life. This paper has two aims: on the one hand, it examines nightmares of loss and erasure caused by (neo)colonial trauma, ethno-racial oppression, displacement and exile; on the other hand, it explores fantasies of strength and survival emerging from cultural hybridity, identity reconfiguration and artistic creativity. The analysis highlights the role of dreams in poetically bridging past and present, homeland and new land, helplessness and hope, resistance and reconstruction. By illuminating the tensions between these binaries, it addresses the psychological toll of diasporic and postcolonial transformations, underscoring the importance of dreaming as a site of radical literary imagination and aesthetic expression relevant to the betterment of daily life.Las representaciones poéticas de los sueños nos ofrecen una perspectiva sugerente a través de la cual los autores de ascendencia latino-caribeña radicados en Estados Unidos exploran la migración, la identidad y el trauma histórico, revelando cómo los individuos navegan la pertenencia y la vida diaspórica. Este trabajo se plantea alrededor de dos ejes: por un lado, examina las pesadillas de pérdida y borrado provocadas por el trauma (neo)colonial, la opresión etnorracial, el desplazamiento y el exilio; por otro, explora las fantasías de fortaleza y supervivencia que surgen de la hibridez cultural, la reconfiguración identitaria y la creatividad artística. El análisis destaca el papel de los sueños como puentes poéticos entre pasado y presente, tierra natal y nueva tierra, impotencia y esperanza, resistencia y reconstrucción. Al iluminar las tensiones entre estos binomios, se aborda el coste psicológico de las transformaciones diaspóricas y poscoloniales, subrayando la importancia del ensueño como espacio de imaginación literaria radical y de expresión estética relevante para la mejora de la vida cotidiana

Full text linkIn the Early Modern period, land transportation was inexorably influenced by the conditions of infrastructure and road services, which determined its typology and development; but also, by economic and political factors. In a society where pluriactivity and the organization of labor within the household played a fundamental role, land transportation was shaped by a clear sexual division of labor that cannot, and should not, obscure the participation of women in the muleteer enterprise. The objective of this study is to explore the interaction between gender, pluriactivity, and the rural-urban divide in the economic activities carried out by transportation households.En la Edad Moderna, el transporte terrestre se ve inexorablemente influenciado por las condiciones de las infraestructuras y los servicios del camino, que determinan su tipología y desarrollo; pero también por la economía y las políticas. En una sociedad donde la pluriactividad y la organización del trabajo en el seno del hogar desempeñan un papel fundamental, el transporte terrestre ha quedado marcado por una clara división sexual del trabajo que no puede, ni debe, ocultar la participación de las mujeres en la empresa arriera.
El objetivo de este estudio es reflexionar sobre cómo las categorías de género y pluriactividad, y la dicotomía entre lo rural y lo urbano influyen en el entramado de la economía y los modelos de trabajo de los hogares del transporte.
 
El ocaso de una élite rural: miradas femeninas desde España, Reino Unido y Alemania (siglo XIX)
Full text linkThrough the novels written by authors such as the Spanish Emilia Pardo Bazán, the British George Eliot and the German Louise von François, we analyse the way in which they perceived the social relations of the rural world in which they set their works from a gender perspective and with a comparative approach. Written in the second half of the 19th century, these novels move from the formal postulates of Romanticism towards a new way of understanding writing, that of Realism, committed to denouncing social inequalities and misery. As a result, they make the reader a witness to the subjective impact of the problems that stressed agrarian societies, immersed in a process of change that was not always benevolent, and at the same time allow the reader to appreciate how these women defied with their lives and their novels the hegemonic patriarchal discourse that tried to reduce them to the sphere of domesticity.A través de las novelas escritas por autoras como la española Emilia Pardo Bazán, la británica George Eliot y la alemana Louise von François, se analiza el modo en que percibieron las relaciones sociales del mundo rural en el que ambientaron sus obras con una perspectiva de género y con un enfoque comparado. Escritas en la segunda mitad del XIX, estas novelas transitan desde los postulados formales del Romanticismo hacia una nueva forma de entender la escritura, la del Realismo, comprometida con la denuncia de las desigualdades y las miserias sociales; por ello convierten al lector en testigo del impacto subjetivo de las problemáticas que tensionaron a las sociedades agrarias, inmersas en un proceso de cambio no siempre benévolo, y de paso le permiten apreciar cómo estas mujeres desafiaron con su vida y sus novelas el discurso patriarcal hegemónico que trataba de reducirlas al ámbito de la domesticidad
Propiedades psicométricas del Test de Adicción a Internet en estudiantes universitarios hondureños: Psychometric properties of the Internet Addiction Test in Honduran university students
No full textObjective: Internet addiction is associated with psychological problems and is considered a public health issue. This study arises from the need to investigate this field. The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) in a sample of Honduran university students. Method: the sample included 791 university students. The study examined the factorial structure, internal consistency, and measurement invariance concerning gender. Results: the two-factor model of the IAT shows better psychometric properties compared to the one-factor model, obtaining high reliability. Additionally, the IAT demonstrated adequate configural, metric, scalar, and strict invariance between men and women. Conclusions: the results of this study support the reliability and validity of the IAT for examining internet addiction in Honduran university students.Objetivo: La adicción a Internet se asocia con problemas psicológicos y se considera un problema de salud pública. Este estudio surge de la necesidad de investigar en este campo. Su objetivo es examinar las propiedades psicométricas de la versión española del Internet Addiction Test (IAT) en una muestra de estudiantes universitarios hondureños. Método: la muestra incluyó 791 estudiantes universitarios. Se examinó la estructura factorial, la consistencia interna y la invarianza de medición con relación al sexo. Resultados: el modelo de dos factores del IAT muestra mejores propiedades psicométricas en comparación con el modelo de un solo factor, obteniendo una alta fiabilidad. Adicionalmente, el IAT demostró una adecuada invarianza configural, métrica, escalar y estricta entre hombres y mujeres. Conclusiones: los resultados de este estudio respaldan la fiabilidad y validez del IAT para examinar la adicción a Internet en estudiantes universitarios hondureños

Objective: To examine the mediating role of value-based behaviors in the relationship between invalidating environments, both past and present, and mental health indicators. Method: A total of 546 Peruvian adults participated in the study, ranged in age from 18 to 67 years (53.3% were females). Structural equation models were employed to test the hypothesized mediation models. Results: The findings indicate that both progress toward and obstruction of a meaningful life mediate the relationship between certain types of invalidation (stemming from the current context and paternal invalidation during childhood) and mental health indicators. However, this dynamic was not observed in the case of maternal invalidation during childhood. Conclusions: These results are discussed in consideration of theoretical frameworks based on behavioral-contextual interventions, as well as sociocultural perspectives relevant to the research. Additionally, the limitations related to sampling and the implications of the preliminary proposals presented are thoroughly analyzed.

Objetivo: Examinar el rol mediacional de las conductas basadas en valores entre ambientes invalidantes, tanto pasados como presentes, e indicadores de salud mental. Método: Participaron 546 adultos peruanos, con un rango de edad entre 18 y 67 años (el 53.3% eran mujeres). Se emplearon modelos de ecuaciones estructurales para probar los modelos de mediación hipotetizados. Resultados: Los hallazgos indican que tanto el progreso como la obstrucción hacia una vida valiosa median la relación entre ciertos tipos de invalidación (proveniente del contexto actual y de la figura paterna durante la infancia) e indicadores de salud mental. Sin embargo, esta dinámica no se observó en el caso de la invalidación maternal infantil. Conclusiones: Se discuten estos resultados tomando en cuenta marcos teóricos basados en intervenciones conductuales-contextuales, además de perspectivas socioculturales relevantes para la investigación. Se analizan en profundidad las limitaciones sobre el muestreo y las implicaciones de propuestas preliminares realizadas.ABSTRACT

Duel at Falconara: Frederick of Sicily against Philip of Anjou (Muntaner’s Chronicle, chap. 192)
Full text linkEl present article analitza el capítol 192 de la Crònica de Ramon Muntaner, dedicat a la batalla de Falconara (1 de desembre de 1299), en què la host de Frederic d’Aragó, rei de Sicília, derrotà un exèrcit comandat per Felip d’Anjou, príncep de Tàrent i fill del rei Carles II de Nàpols. En concret, l’atenció se centra preferentment en la narració del combat cavalleresc que, segons el cronista català, mantingueren en el decurs de l’enfrontament el rei Frederic i el príncep Felip. L’estudi pren en consideració, d’una banda, altres fonts cronístiques i documentals relatives a la batalla (com ara la Historia sicula de Nicolò Speciale), i, de l’altra, els models literaris i culturals que influïren en la manera com Muntaner la recreà en la Crònica. L’anàlisi duta a terme posa de manifest que si bé el cronista reelabora literàriament els fets que narra, la seua versió de la batalla conté notícies confirmades per la historiografia i la documentació de l’època.This article analyses chapter 192 of Ramon Muntaner’s Chronicle, devoted to the battle of Falconara (December 1, 1299), in which the host of Frederick of Aragon, King of Sicily, defeated an army commanded by Philip of Anjou, Prince of Taranto and son of King Charles II of Naples. More specifically, attention is focused on the narration of the chivalric combat that, according to the Catalan chronicler, was held between King Frederick and Prince Philip during the aforementioned battle. The study takes into consideration, on the one hand, other chronicles and documentary sources related to the battle (such as the Historia sicula of Nicolò Speciale) and, on the other hand, the literary and cultural models that influenced the way Muntaner recreated it in the Chronicle. The analysis carried out shows that although the chronicler literarily re-elaborates the deeds he narrates, his account of the battle containstrue facts that can be found in the historiography and documentary sources of the time
Agricultural Tools in Valencian Inventories from the 14th, 15th and First Half of the 16th Centuries

Es comprova així la importància dels inventaris per a l’estudi del lèxic professional antic. La documentació en la qual es basa aquest treball està constituïda per relacions de béns valencianes manuscrites inèdites dels segles XIV, XV i primera meitat del XVI.The aim of this article is to present and study medieval agricultural tools from a lexico-semantic perspective. This study also proves the importance of inventories for the study of the old professional lexicon. This work is based on unpublished manuscript documentation of inventories of goods fron Valencian notarial protocols of the 14th, 15th and firts half of the 16th century
