Awareness and Acceptability of Pre-Certified Halal Foods to Non-Muslim Students among Secondary Schools
Multiculturalism is increasingly shaping contemporary societies, yet food, a fundamental human necessity, often becomes a point of cultural and belief-based contention. The halal food industry has grown significantly, garnering support both locally and internationally. However, this burgeoning sector faces challenges related to establishing standardized regulations that acknowledge its role in nation-building and promote cultural diversity. This study aimed to assess the awareness and acceptance of pre-certified halal food among non-Muslim students across secondary schools in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat. Employing a descriptive survey research design, the study utilized a researcher-developed questionnaire administered to 350 students selected through simple random sampling from seven identified schools in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.
Findings indicated that despite Lambayong\u27s diverse population, most respondents demonstrated awareness and positive perceptions of pre-certified halal food. However, some community elders and church leaders expressed reservations about allowing younger generations to consume such food. The study also observed that while many vendors and proprietors were Muslim, not all adhered to the practice of wearing hijab (for Muslim women), and some lacked necessary cooking equipment like gloves and hairnets. Furthermore, certain halal establishments were found to have inadequate sanitation and pest control measures. Ultimately, the study concluded that there exists a moderate relationship between respondents\u27 awareness and their acceptance of halal food. Recommendations include schools collaborating with barangay and local government units to monitor the hygiene of nearby restaurants and canteens. Additionally, halal food establishments should prioritize enhancing their sanitation practices and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance and consumer confidence

The global ascendancy of Korean cosmetic products, propelled by the Korean Wave phenomenon, has fundamentally reshaped beauty standards and consumer behaviors worldwide. This study aimed to determine the factors influencing the use of Korean cosmetics among female university students in the Philippines, focusing on perceived authenticity, aesthetic appeal, and facial perception. A structured questionnaire was administered to 175 respondents from a private university in Metro Manila. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Spearman\u27s rank correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Results indicated a statistically significant positive correlation between the perceived aesthetic appeal of packaging (β = .211, p < .006) and the usage of Korean cosmetics. Regression analysis confirmed that perceived aesthetic appeal was a determinant of product usage (R2 = 0.176, P ≤ 0.05). Facial attractiveness (β = .107, p = .165) were found to be statistically significantly correlated with usage, however, found to be not statistically significant determinant. Perceived authenticity (β = .005, p = .950) showed no correlation with product usage and not a determinant as well. These findings underscore the importance of visual aesthetics in consumer behavior among young Filipino consumers, providing strategic insights for brands in the competitive beauty market of the Philippines

Investigating Organizational Loyalty in Maritime Companies among Generation X and Millennials Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equa-tion Modeling
This study aimed to study job security, social stimulation, and oppor-tunity to use one’s abilities as factors that influenced Gen X (ages 36-54) and Millennial (ages 21 to 35) employees’ organizational loyalty as part of a particular organization. Understanding organizational culture is cru-cial when examining loyalty among Gen X and Millennial seafarers in maritime companies. It has been recognized as a vital factor contributing to the success of business operations. Recently, many initiatives have been implemented to promote workforce development. Employers rec-ognize that their workforce directly affects financial performance, and understanding organizational loyalty across generations is crucial for ensuring this. Sixty seafarers from three Philippine Manning agencies were asked to answer surveys and participate in follow-up interviews as needed to investigate the variables. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and multigroup analysis (PLS-MGA) were used to analyze the gathered respondent data. The findings indicated that social stimulation and the opportunity to use one’s abilities were both groups\u27 most significant predictors of loyalty. The subsequent PLS-MGA showed that job security was particularly a significant predictor for Gen X employees, while it was not a significant predictor for Millennials.
