A Bibliometric Analysis on Muslim-Friendly Tourism Research Using VOSviewer
This manuscript focuses on the growth of Muslim-friendly tourism through a thorough bibliometric analysis, addressing the emerging subject in this field. It starts by outlining how important it is to accommodate Muslim tourists in the global tourism scene. Methodologically, the analysis utilized VOSviewer software, and data was collected from national and international publications covering the years 2018–2023 using the Publish or Perish application. The results provide insights into the changing themes and patterns in Muslim-friendly tourism, guiding future research and advancement. Based on the results, the number of studies related to Muslim-friendly tourism in 2018 was low, with only 2 related studies. In the following years, this topic became significantly popular, with a number of studies conducted by various researchers, particularly in 2021 and 2023. In 2019, there was a significant increase, with 9 related studies. In 2021 and 2023, 22 relevant studies were found. There was also a slight decline in 2020, with 7 studies, and 10 studies in 2022. This data is helpful in evaluating the novelty of topics related to Muslim-friendly tourism
Development and Validation of Contextualized Kindergarten Module for Children with Hearing Impairment
This study aimed to develop and validate a sign language-based and contextualized kindergarten module for children with hearing impairment. There is a need to develop and contextualize a module in order to cater the unmet needs of students with hearing impairment. The developed module includes a teaching guide for parents, for them to become more effective co-facilitators of learning. The distinctive feature of this module is that, the sign language interpretations are with pictures and texts. The pictures vividly show the step-by-step procedure on how to sign the specific word. The pictures are supported by the comprehensive explanation on how to sign the words. This study utilized the Research and Development (R & D) research method to systematically design, develop and evaluate the instructional material. The participants of this study are eleven (11) students with hearing impairment and eleven (11) parents of students with hearing impairment. The respondents and served as expert-validators are master teacher, kindergarten teacher, and SPED teacher. It employed a purposive sampling technique; it purposely selected a population related to children with hearing impairment. To analyze the qualitative data, it was imported to MAXQDA software with the use of Horizontalization method by Moustakas. For statistical treatment of the descriptive data, researchers used the PSPP software. The study found that the parents’ ideal module for children with hearing impairment has five emerging themes, such as 1) sign language medium of instruction, 2) disability consideration, 3) media consideration, 4) level of difficulty, and 5) technical design. Expert-validators assessed that the validity of contextualized kindergarten module is highly acceptable among the dimensions of: content, format and language, presentation, and usefulness. Effectiveness of the contextualized module as perceived by the parents yielded a total of 96.36% positive responses
Arguments on Social Media: A Conceptual Analysis of Senior High School Students’ Election-Related Facebook Posts
This study analyzed the arguments, specifically the fallacies and the posting strategies present on the eleven (11) Facebook posts of the WCC Aeronautical and Technological College senior high school students on election-related issues. The researcher utilized conceptual analysis using deductive method in this study. The fallacies and posting strategies were tallied and ranked, categorized based on the emerging themes, and subjected to conceptual analysis. The 11 fallacies were categorized into three themes based on the rhetorical triangle and the themes that emerged are influence in facts, influence in credibility, and influence in emotions. On the other hand, four themes emerged in the posting strategies: praising, sarcasm, name-calling and invalidating, and straightforwardness, where positive impoliteness garnered the highest number of commissions. Electronic Math Problems Analyses and Mastery of Operations, Rules, and Expressions (E-Math Pa More) on the Performance of Grade 9 Students
This study sought to assess the effectiveness of Electronic Math Problems Analyses and Mastery of Operations, Rules, and Expressions (e-MATH PA MORE) as digital learning material in the performance of Grade 9 students of Libagon National High School in Math for the School Year 2022-2023. In order to collect data from the students, this study used a two-group quasi-experimental design including pretest and posttest. The study involved the participation of seventy (70) Grade 9 pupils. One of the two sections, each with 35 pupils, acted as the control group, while the other was the experimental group. To determine the study\u27s findings, the data were statistically treated using inferential statistics, specifically T-test (paired and independent), mean and standard deviation, frequency, and percentage. Based on the study\u27s findings, it is possible to infer that both e-Math PA MORE and the traditional style of teaching are effective in teaching Mathematics. However, a greater improvement in Mathematics performance was noticed in the class when e-Math PA MORE was used, indicating that it is more successful than the old method. Hence, e-Math PA MORE offers learning experiences to aid in the formation of knowledge, particularly in mathematics. Furthermore, teachers should be properly equipped with the information and abilities necessary to create e-Math PA MORE. It is recommended that further studies should be conducted to continually improve the utilization of e-Math PA MORE, accentuating on teachers’ preparedness and attitude
Tracer Study of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Graduates
The study primarily aims to trace the employability of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduates. It focuses on determining their educational background, post-graduation activities, and employment. Moreover, the study is structured to assess the importance of undergraduate programs in fostering the skills development of graduates and the applicability of the curriculum\u27s courses to their subsequent employment. A tracer study, elucidating graduates\u27 educational and career paths, is a vital instrument in comprehending the outcomes of academic pursuits. Employing stratified sampling techniques, strata were derived from graduates spanning the years 2018 to 2022, ensuring comprehensive representation. In scrutinizing educational backgrounds, a notable 50.6% lacked specific certifications, with the Civil Service Examination emerging as the predominant certification at 28.1%. Influential factors in course selection were diverse, with parental influence (16.0%) and the allure of immediate employment (14.5%) exerting substantial impacts. A 14.6% of respondents in the professional training category chose the designation "Bookkeeping," indicating a substantial interest in acquiring skills related to bookkeeping. The study exposed a significant 68.4% of graduates currently employed, emphasizing the consequential impact of skill mismatches on job satisfaction. Notably, 67.8% of employment remained local, indicating a balanced representation of domestic and international work opportunities. The institutional contribution to graduates\u27 personal growth was evident, as values like environmental responsibility and service to humanity strongly influenced professional behavior. In conclusion, this tracer study, methodically executed through stratified sampling, provides nuanced insights into graduates\u27 educational and professional trajectories, underscoring the multifaceted influences shaping their career choices and emphasizing the integral role of education in fostering ethical and successful professionals
The Effectiveness of Classroom Management Using the Resource Based Learning (RBL) Learning Model on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Rantau Selatan
This research aims to determine the effectiveness of classroom management using the Resource Based Learning (RBL) learning model on student mathematics learning outcomes. This research is Classroom Action research which applies data collection methods through observing learning activities and learning results tests. The research subjects consisted of 36 students in class VIII 4 at SMP Negeri 2 Rantau Selatan for the 2023/2024 academic year. In this research, a significant increase in the effectiveness of classroom management in solving mathematics problems was seen, which was realized through the use of various learning resources such as Student Worksheets (LKPD), mathematics books, internet sources, and teaching aids. This is better than students who receive normal learning. Meanwhile, student learning outcomes were successfully improved by using LKPD using the Resource Based Learning (RBL) learning model. We can see the improvement in students\u27 mathematics learning outcomes from the average score, where there was an increase in cycle I and cycle II. The average score from cycle I was 75.15 and in cycle II was 82.00 with a learning completeness percentage of 66.6%, 93%
Integration of Gamification in Teaching and Students’ Academic Performance: Basis for Action Plan
Gamification has been noted to be very helpful to learners in increasing their collaboration, motivation, interest, engagement, and teamwork in the classrooms. This is the reason that this work was conducted to determine the extent of the integration of gamification in teaching as a step to help address the alarming performance of the learners in the international and local examinations. Using the descriptive-correlational research design with use of a survey questionnaire as the main data gathering tool, this work was implemented to junior high school science and mathematics teachers in the districts of Guinsiliban, Sagay and Catarman. Appropriate statistical tools were used to analyze the data to answer the inquiries of the study. Results showed that most of the respondents in science and mathematics were females, and majority of them were in Teacher I position, on the age group of 20 to 40, served for at most 10 years, proceeded to graduate studies, and specialized in science education. The respondents had moderately integrated gamification in teaching science and mathematics. While the learners of the respondents had a very satisfactory performance in science and mathematics. Demographic variables like sex, age, educational attainment, number of years of teaching, field of specialization, and teaching position did not influence the extent of integration of gamification in teaching. The study also found a positive, low correlation but significant relationship between the extent of integration of gamification and the academic performance of the learners. Lack of gadgets like laptops and computers, internet connection, lack of access to online game-based platforms, computer literacy of teachers, and time management were the most common challenges in the integration of gamification in the learning sessions of science and mathematics. The researcher recommended that future researchers may replicate this study in schools where gadgets and internet connection are available
“Ignorance of the law excuses no one:” Fundamental Laws Every Filipino Teachers in Educational Institutions Should Know
In the Philippines, everyone is presumed to know the law. Laws in the Philippines take effect after fifteen days following the completion of their publication either in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines. Respondents in this mini research were local teachers and professors from secondary and tertiary levels within the National Capital Region (NCR) with some of them from outside the NCR. Survey questionnaires were administered in this study through convenient and snowball sampling techniques.
