By addressing these issues, the intervention plan seeks to create a more supportive and motivating environment for teachers
Digital vs. Traditional Remittance Preferences among Overseas Filipino Workers: Patterns, Barriers, and Behavioral Drivers
This study examines the remittance method preferences of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) amid growing digitalization in financial services. It explores usage patterns, country-level differences, and factors influencing the adoption of digital versus traditional remittance channels. Employing a descriptive-comparative design, the study analyzed responses from 400 OFWs across five global regions, gathered through online surveys and community networks. Chi-square tests of independence assessed associations between remittance preferences, countries of employment, and regional groupings. Results revealed significant differences across countries. OFWs in the United States and the United Arab Emirates exhibited high digital adoption (65.2% and 69.8%, respectively), citing convenience and cost-efficiency as key motivators. Conversely, OFWs in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore preferred traditional remittance centers due to trust and technological limitations. A significant association was found between country and remittance method, χ²(17, N = 400) = 78.24, p < .001, while regional differences between Asia and North America were not statistically significant, χ²(1, N = 337) = 1.33, p = .25. These findings underscore the need for user-centered financial technologies that are both inclusive and responsive to OFWs’ diverse socioeconomic contexts and digital competencies
Role of AI in Enhancing Critical Thinking in Science Education: Challenges and Opportunities for Science Instructor
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning, particularly in the development of students’ critical thinking skills. This study explores science instructors\u27 familiarity, perceptions, and experiences with using AI to enhance students\u27 critical thinking skills, as well as the level of institutional support for AI integration in teaching. A quantitative survey was conducted among 20 science instructors from higher education institutions in Isabela, Philippines. The findings reveal that while instructors acknowledge AI\u27s potential to improve educational outcomes, there is a significant gap in formal AI training and literacy among educators. Positive correlations were found between AI literacy, AI integration, and critical thinking development, suggesting that as AI literacy increases, AI integration and enhancement of critical thinking skills also increase. Regression analysis identified AI integration as a significant predictor of critical thinking development. Challenges remain in the effective implementation of AI, including concerns about overreliance on AI-generated responses and the need for clear assessment guidelines. Interestingly, years of teaching experience did not significantly influence participants’ AI literacy, perceptions, or integration. This study highlights the importance of developing comprehensive AI literacy programs for educators and integrating AI into curriculum structures to balance AI-enhanced learning with human-centered pedagogy. These findings emphasize the need for thoughtful implementation and ongoing research to effectively leverage AI in promoting critical thinking skills in science education

This research outlined the situation regarding bullying victimization, perpetration, and bystander experiences among students at San Guillermo National High School for the academic year 2022 – 2023. This study employed a quantitative approach. A probability sampling method was utilized to identify the sample. The respondents\u27 views on bullying were assessed based on their profile variables. A majority of those surveyed are women. The average age of those surveyed is 16.11. Eighth grade has the highest number of participants. Most of the respondents faced bullying (victims). The majority of them observed other students experiencing bullying (bystanders). Fewer respondents have become bullies towards other learners (bullies). Most bullying incidents occur in homeroom classes. Bullies usually target their peers. The reasons for it lie in physical attributes. Most of the time, the parents and the school are unaware of the bullying incidents. A notable disparity exists in how respondents perceive things when categorized by gender and grade level. The perceptions of the respondents show no significant differences when categorized by age. It is hence advised to educate teachers, students, and parents regarding Republic Act No. 10627, referred to as “The Anti-Bullying Act of 2013,” and DepEd Order No. 40, series of 2012, known as the “DepEd Child Protection Policy.” Developing an Intervention Program to tackle bullying events in schools is essential as well
Utilization of Authentic Assessments in General Chemistry 2: Its Correlation on Students\u27 Learning Experience
Assessment plays a significant role in enhancing the teaching and learning process, serving as a tool to gauge students’ understanding and guide instructional improvement. However, traditional assessments in science education often emphasize rote memorization rather than conceptual understanding and real-world application. This study investigated the relationship between the utilization of authentic assessments in General Chemistry 2 and students’ learning experience among Grade 12 STEM students at Pasig National High School, during the first semester, S.Y. 2025–2026. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational research design, data were collected from 80 randomly selected respondents through a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics revealed that authentic assessments are frequently used in their General Chemistry 2 class. Moreover, Grade 12 STEM students demonstrated a highly positive learning experience in terms of learning engagement, conceptual understanding and perceived real-life relevance. Meanwhile, inferential statistics using Pearson’s correlation showed a significant relationship between utilization of authentic assessments in General Chemistry 2 and students’ learning experience, with weak to moderate positive correlations (r values ranging from 0.254 to 0.657, p<0.05). These findings imply that as the utilization of authentic assessments in Chemistry class increases, the students’ learning experiences also increases. Furthermore, it is recommended that science teachers continuously integrate and diversify authentic assessments to promote reflection, collaboration, and critical thinking. Additionally, teacher training programs should emphasize on designing rubrics and validating authentic assessment that align with the K–12 science curriculum competencies, thereby preparing learners for real-world problem-solving and lifelong learning
