    Assessing The Effectiveness of The PNP Internal Disciplinary Mechanism in Enhancing Job Satisfaction among Personnel

    The study aimed to improve the job satisfaction among PNP person-nel by addressing the issues in the PNP\u27s internal disciplinary mech-anisms. The Dasmarinas Component City Police Station PCOs and PNCOs took part in the study, descriptive comparison research de-sign was used to examine the internal cleansing and disciplinary mechanism programs applied. The data was collected using a sur-vey questionnaire that was consistent with PNP Memorandum Cir-culars 2019-027 and 20-2020. Kusumawardani (2024) asserted that work discipline increases job satisfaction. If job satisfaction de-creases, so does work discipline. This was achievable because em-ployees were satisfied with their jobs, enjoy fair working hours, and follow their superiors\u27 and subordinates\u27 rules. The majority of the respondents were PNCO, consisting of male participants whom were all college graduates. The research showed that the internal disciplinary procedures of the Dasmarinas Component City Police Station, particularly those related to punitive measures, had resulted in an increase in job satisfaction. It highlighted the importance of reaffirming the fundamental principles of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maka-Diyos, Makabansa, Makatao, and Makakalikasan while also promoting the ethical standards of a public official.     Knowledge and Practices of Elementary Teachers on Thematic Approach Towards Inclusive Science Education

    This study investigated the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of the thematic approach towards inclusive education among elementary teachers in Iba District, Philippines. A descriptive correlational design was employed, utilizing a survey questionnaire administered to 75 elementary teachers from three selected schools. The findings revealed that the teacher-respondents demonstrated a high level of knowledge and consistently practiced the thematic approach in their teaching strategies, learning activities, instructional materials, and assessment. Furthermore, there is a strong association (r=0.886, p=<0.01) between teachers\u27 knowledge of the thematic approach and their reported use of it in their teaching practices in ensuring inclusive science education. Thus, professional development that enhances teachers\u27 understanding of the thematic approach is recommended, as this is directly associated with improved classroom implementation and more effective inclusive education practices. Additionally, further research could explore the specific impacts of thematic teaching methods on student learning outcomes and inclusivity in diverse classroom settings

    Mediating Effect of Cultural Intelligence on Personality Traits and Intercultural Effectiveness Among Senior High School Students

    is study examined the mediating role of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) in the relationship between personality traits and intercultural effective-ness among Senior High School students. In an increasingly globalized world, developing intercultural competence is essential for students to navigate diverse cultural environments effectively.The study employed a quantitative approach, gathering infor-mation from 100 Senior High School students in San Vicente Integrat-ed High School through a survey method. The Big Five Personality Traits questionnaire, the Cultural Intelligence Scale, and the Intercul-tural Effectiveness Scale were among the tools used in the survey.Mean and Standard Deviation were used to describe the responses of the respondents in their perceptions of Personality Traits, Intercul-tural Effectiveness, and Cultural Intelligence. Also, the Pearson prod-uct-moment correlation coefficient was used to determine the rela-tionship between Personality Traits and Intercultural Effectiveness. PROCESS Macro was used in Mediation Analyses.The findings show a positive correlation between higher levels of intercultural effectiveness and specific personality traits, namely con-scientiousness and openness to new experiences. Moreover, cultural intelligence significantly mediates this relationship, showing that stu-dents with higher Cultural Intelligence (CQ) are better able to leverage their personality traits to enhance their intercultural effectiveness.The results show how crucial it is to develop cultural intelligence in learning environments to get students ready for cross-cultural interac-tions. The development of focused interventions and instructional strategies that raise students\u27 CQ and improve their capacity to per-form well in a variety of cultural contexts are examples of practical results

    Socio-Demographic and Parental Acceptability of Covid-19 Pediatric Vaccination of Children with Co-Morbidities

    The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted public health worldwide, with children being a particularly vulnerable population due to their developing immune systems. Children with co-morbidities, such as asthma, diabetes, and other chronic conditions, are at a higher risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 infection. The study aims to determine if the sociodemographic profile attributes may tend to have a relationship in accepting COVID-19 vaccination for parents with children with co-morbidities. Descriptive-correlational design was used in this study involving 46 participants either the mother or father of the child, Filipino residents near the declared research locale and have children who were 5 to 11 years of age situated in one municipality in Bataan, Philippines recruited us-ing a purposive sampling technique. A self-made non-standardized instrument was used in this study (a=0.78). The gathered data was analyzed using descriptive mean and Spearman Rho. Results indicate that COVID-19 pediatric vaccination is highly acceptable among the respondents (M=3.42, SD=0.34). As such, sex as demographic profile (rs=.486, p=0.001) revealed significant findings regarding parent’s acceptability of COVID-19 pediatric vaccination. The findings of this study indicated that sex-specific factors may influence vaccine ac-ceptability, and public health strategies should consider tailoring in-terventions to address these factors to promote COVID-19 vaccina-tion acceptance

    Challenges Encountered in Teaching Four Basic Operations in Mathematics and Academic Performance among Pupils

    Mathematics is a learning discipline disliked by most of the learners in schools. This became more complicated when the learners transi-tioned from face-to-face to modular learning modality during the pandemic, and just recently from modular back to face-to-face learn-ing modality. This study aimed to determine the extent of the chal-lenges encountered by the respondents in teaching mathematics and the academic performance among the pupils. Using complete enu-meration, all Grades 4 to 6 mathematics teachers in Mambajao Dis-trict were used as respondents of the study. Quantitative descriptive research design was employed supplemented with survey question-naire as the main data gathering tool. Appropriate statistical tools were used to analyse the collected data. Results showed that majority of the respondents were females, middle-aged, with at least 11 years of teaching experience, and with units in master’s degree course pro-gram. The respondents had always experienced challenges in teach-ing mathematics to the learners, while the learners had a satisfactory academic performance. There was no relationship between the ex-tent of the challenges encountered by the respondents and the aca-demic performance of the learners. Finally, the study found no signifi-cant differences on the extent of the challenges encountered among the respondents when grouped in terms of age, sex, number of years of teaching, and highest educational attainment. The researcher rec-ommended that future researchers may replicate this work with ad-ditional interesting variables

    This study examines the challenges encountered in implement-ing the cooperative Learning (CL) approach in Secondary Social Studies instruction in Zone 1, Division of Zambales, Philippines. using descriptive research design, survey data were collected from 101 randomly selected Social Studies teachers. Findings indicate that teacher sometimes utilize the CL approach and face challenges related to student engagement, teacher preparation, and assessment methods. The study recommends that teachers explore alternative cooperative learning strategies such as the Tea Party, Carousel, CO-OP CO-OP, and Round Robin methods. Additionally, structured planning and classroom management techniques should be prioritized to enhance the effectiveness of cooperative learning

    A Content Analysis of Police Report Archives: Basis for Technical Writing Model for Criminology Students

    This research highlights the analysis of data drawn from police report narratives, focusing on the technical words and jargon utilized within these reports. The study examines archival crime investigation documents, employing quantitative content analysis (QCA) to categorize and interpret the language used by law enforcement officers. By defining and classifying recording units—such as specific terms, phrases, and broader themes—the research seeks to understand how these elements contribute to the construction of meaning within criminal justice communication. Two primary questions guide the investigation: (1) What technical words or jargon are reflected in police report narratives? (2) How do these jargon terms shape the interpretation of police reports? Through the examination of a corpus of 20 case reports (comprising 318 pages), the study systematically organizes language into meaningful categories that serve descriptive and statistical purposes. The analysis reveals how officers employ distinct terminology to document case details, enhancing clarity and precision in official records. The study\u27s findings indicate that police report narratives rely on structured terminology to convey critical information about victims, suspects, and investigative processes. These classified terms serve as essential components of law enforcement documentation, reinforcing standardized communication practices within the criminal justice system. Understanding the role and impact of technical jargon in police reports provides insights into how meaning is constructed, interpreted, and applied in investigative contexts

    Academic Excellence Paradox: Self-Imposed Academic Pressure and Well-Being Among Gen-Z Students in a HyFlex Learning Environment

    This correlation study examined the complex interrelationship between self-imposed academic pressure, academic performance, and multidimensional well-being among high-achieving undergraduate students (N = 101, 57.7% response rate) at a premier private university in Manila, Philippines. Through rigorous purposive sampling based on established honors criteria (GWA ≥ 3.0), the study implemented a comprehensive online assessment instrument measuring three primary constructs. Findings revealed pronounced levels of self-imposed academic pressure (Mdn = 6.0 on a 7-point scale, interpreted as High), with academic performance anxiety (Mdn = 7.0, Very High) and future career impact concerns (Mdn = 7.0, Very High) emerging as predominant stressors. Academic achievement metrics demonstrated exceptional performance, with a median GPA of 3.5 and 53.27% of participants attaining GPAs of 3.50 or higher. Despite respondents reporting robust scores across physical (Mdn = 5.5, High), psychological (Mdn = 6.5, High), and social well-being domains (Mdn = 6.0, High), the Spearman Rho test uncovered significant bidirectional relationships. Self-imposed academic pressure exhibited a weak positive correlation with academic performance (r = 0.327, p < 0.01), explaining approximately 10.7% of the variance in GPA (r² = 0.107), suggesting that heightened personal standards confer modest performance advantages. However, a more pronounced moderate negative correlation emerged between self-imposed pressure and overall well-being (r = -0.436, p < 0.01), with particularly strong adverse effects on academic confidence (r = -0.478, p < 0.01), interpersonal relationship satisfaction (r = -0.467, p < 0.01), and cognitive function (r = -0.456, p < 0.01). The differentiated impact across pressure dimensions—with social comparison processes enhancing performance (r = 0.384, p < 0.01) while coursework management difficulties undermining it (r = -0.412, p < 0.01)—illuminates a fundamental academic paradox wherein self-imposed pressure simultaneously enhances performance metrics while compromising holistic well-being. These findings underscore the imperative for educational institutions to develop balanced academic approaches and targeted support systems that foster both achievement and wellness in HyFlex learning environments, particularly addressing the psychological, social, and physical dimensions most adversely affected by academic pressure

    Emotional Challenges and Coping Mechanisms of Temporary Faculty in a Philippine State College

    This study explores the emotional challenges and coping strategies of temporary permanent faculty members in a state college in the Bicol Region, whose positions were opened for public application, placing them in a state of employment precarity. Anchored on Lazarus and Folkman’s Transactional Model of Stress and Coping, this qualitative case study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of how faculty members perceive, experience, and respond to job-related uncertainty. Five faculty members from diverse disciplines—Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Electrical Technology, and Agriculture—participated in semi-structured, one-on-one interviews. Through thematic analysis, key emotional responses were identified, including persistent anxiety, diminished self-worth, professional disillusionment, and fear of displacement. The analysis also revealed coping mechanisms rooted in relational, cognitive, and spiritual domains, such as leaning on familial and peer support, engaging in religious reflection, and reframing negative experiences with professional optimism. These findings illuminate how employment insecurity not only disrupts professional stability but also deeply impacts faculty well-being and institutional trust. The study suggests the urgent need for transparent and supportive communication protocols in higher education institutions to buffer the psychosocial toll of employment transitions

    Economic Violence Against Women: A Case in the National Capital Region (NCR)

    Economic abuse has a deeper and more lasting impact on women than on men, severely affecting their financial stability, independence, and ability to make life choices. It often involves control over their money, employment, property, and education. A study conducted in the National Capital Region examined women\u27s experiences of economic abuse, using three groups: Inner Wheel Club members, SSS personnel, and LGU employees, each sampled with different methods. The findings revealed that economic abuse prevents many women from starting or managing businesses, keeping jobs, or making independent decisions. Common forms include financial control, workplace sabotage, and theft of money or resources. Some women were burdened with debts in their or their children’s names. The study recommends a law requiring husbands to financially support their wives and families, with penalties for non-compliance. Agencies like the PNP, DSWD, and the judiciary should enforce this law. Support measures should include providing women and children with shelter and essentials during legal proceedings and restricting abusive husbands’ access to their wives during trials. Women should also have legal access to financial records, shared accounts, and property. These protections are essential to restore women\u27s financial autonomy and protect them from further harm
