Political and Leadership Practices of The Domaget Indigenous People in Nueva Ecija

    No full text
Indigenous Peoples (IPs) play a vital role in preserving cultural her-itage, particularly in the Philippines, where Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) strive to maintain their identities and practices. This study investigates the leadership practices of the Domaget In-digenous Cultural Community in Nueva Ecija through a Descriptive-Quantitative approach, utilizing interviews and survey question-naires. Findings reveal that leadership within the Domaget and Kalanguya IPs is predominantly male, with leaders aged 61–70 years and possessing limited formal education. Leadership roles, including Chieftains, Elders, and Tribal Leaders, are central to governance and cultural preservation, with elders playing pivotal roles in knowledge transfer. The hierarchical structure is led by the "Mangondem," sup-ported by spiritual and governance roles like "Gangot" and "Subka-lan." While the community values peaceful governance and cultural continuity, there is resistance to militaristic defense structures. The study highlights the need for sustainable livelihood opportunities and enhanced knowledge-sharing to foster resilience and social co-hesion

    No full text
The study proposes a Strategic Communication Plan "an Interven-tion Plan" designed to enhance the implementation of the Barangay Mi-cro Business Enterprises (BMBE) Law. The intervention plan addresses the current gaps in awareness and utilization of the law\u27s incentives, particularly focusing on three key areas: 1) Technology Transfer, Pro-duction and Management Training, and Marketing Assistance; 2) Trade Investment and Promotions; and 3) Special Credit Delivery, which has been identified as the least availed incentive. The study utilized descrip-tive-secondary data analysis "non-experimental" and focused on syn-thesizing findings and recommendations from previous related studies to create a comprehensive and actionable communication plan. The proposed BMBE Law Public Information Campaign (BLPIC) integrated targeted activities, including seminars, conferences, and symposiums, to foster wider and more effective dissemination of information. These activities aim to mitigate the low to moderate implementation levels of the law, particularly in rural and remote areas, by emphasizing the ben-efits and accessibility of the incentives. The plan recommended a multi-stakeholder approach, engaging lo-cal government units, financial institutions, and business development organizations to ensure a cohesive and far-reaching campaign. By prior-itizing the Special Credit Delivery incentive, the plan seeks to address its underutilization while simultaneously enhancing awareness of the other incentives. The intervention also underscores the importance of leveraging digital platforms and community-based outreach to maxim-ize reach and engagement. Ultimately, the BLPIC aims to make the BMBE Law more meaningful, relevant, and accessible, thereby fostering economic growth and sustainability for micro-enterprises across di-verse communities

    No full text
eading ability is a critical component of learners’ overall academic success. The effective and efficient utilization of resources is critical, especially in the new normal of education. Hence, the researchers, even in the required intervention for early-grade learners, attempted to formulate a scheme to promote better reading profiles with due consideration to school resources. Reading interventions, such as Reading Recovery, utilize one-on-one tutoring to cater to learners’ specific reading needs by evaluating reading interventions for cost and effectiveness in the specific reading skills of phonemic aware-ness, fluency, and text vocabulary, may improve their evidence-based decision-making when it comes to selecting an intervention. The researchers utilized a quasi-experimental design and purposive sampling where the whole population of interest is studied to de-termine the effectiveness of the cost-effective reading intervention A multitude of research has proven that repeated reading is an effec-tive strategy to improve fluency in struggling readers. The instru-ments employed in this study were the Early Grade Reading As-sessment tool for the pretest and the teacher-made equivalent test for EGRA for the post-test. There were 277 males and 268 females with a total of 545 grade 1-3 pupils as participants. Paired Samples T- Test utilized in the study and the results showed scores were all .000 which was less than 0.01 level of significance. Therefore, there were significant differences between the percentage scores of the pretests and the percentage scores of the post-tests. The negative sign of t- t-values indicates that the percentage scores of the post-tests were higher than the percentage scores of the pretests. Thus, the null hypothesis of no significant difference was rejected. Based on the result of this study, it can be inferred and concluded that early reading intervention in improving the learners\u27 reading performance in terms of phonemic awareness, fluency, and text vocabulary is highly effective

The most popular domestic animals in poultry raising are birds, such as chickens, geese, turkeys, and ducks. This study aims to bolster the growth performance of broiler chicken by supplementing bio-stimulant in the drinking water. This was conducted last January 1 to February 7, 2024 at Bacolod City, Philippines. The total number of birds used for this study was 80 broiler chickens. The researchers gathered data on the broiler chicken\u27s weight, average daily gain, and feed conversation ratio within 35 days. The researchers used a com-plete randomized design (CRD) with four treatments replicated four times. All the data gathered were statistically computed, and subject-ed to analysis of variance (ANOVA) in CRD using STAR 2.0.1. Results show that supplementing drinking water with 0.30% BSS mixtures had the heaviest weight of broiler chickens with 0.6984 kg, 1.3321 kg, and 1.7764 kg at weeks 3, 4, and 5, respectively. The same concentra-tion implied broiler chickens\u27 highest average daily gain (ADG) weight with 0.0998 kg, 0.1903 kg, and 0.2538 kg at weeks 3, 4, and 5, respectively. Significant results were also shown by the same concen-tration with the lowest feed conversion ratio (FCR) at 1.47, 1.36, and 1.34 at weeks 3, 4, and 5, respectively. Based on the results of the study it recommends supplementing the drinking water of broiler chickens with BSS at a concentration of 0.30%
