Co-Designing Cultural Heritage: Case Studies of Chinese-Indonesian Identity
The preservation of Chinese-Indonesian culture is increasingly challenged by urban development, generational shifts, and fragmented top-down policies. This study investigates how a collaborative design approach—grounded in participatory planning, stakeholder co-creation, and visual communication—can foster sustainable and inclusive cultural preservation. Using a qualitative multi-case study method, four culturally significant urban centers—Singkawang, Jambi, Surabaya, and Glodok—were analyzed. Data were collected from academic literature, government reports, and media sources, then thematically triangulated to reveal patterns of stakeholder-driven preservation. The findings show that Visual Communication Design plays a vital role in shaping cultural identity, amplifying narratives, and facilitating community dialogue through visual storytelling, media engagement, and identity design. A co-design framework is proposed to integrate cultural heritage into tourism, education, and urban revitalization. This research contributes practical strategies for inclusive heritage policies and supports the role of design in advancing Sustainable Development Goals related to culture and community
High School Student’s Perceptions of Augmented Reality Technology in Animaxtion Art Exhibition
This study investigates high school students’ perceptions of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the Animaxtion art exhibition organized by Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic. AR has transformed animated art exhibitions by offering interactive and immersive experiences, yet its acceptance among young visitors remains underexplored. Employing a quantitative approach based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), data were collected through surveys distributed to exhibition visitors. The study examined perceived usefulness and ease of use as factors influencing visitors’ intention to engage with AR-based artworks. Descriptive and regression analyses revealed that both factors significantly affected visitor acceptance, with most respondents perceiving AR as enjoyable and helpful for appreciating animation. However, several participants reported hesitation due to limited device compatibility and inconsistent performance. The findings highlight AR’s potential as an engaging educational and artistic medium while emphasizing the need for improved implementation strategies. This research contributes insights into design and technology integration within interactive exhibitions
The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Openness to Change with Organizational Trust as a Mediation
This study investigates the mediating role of organizational trust in the relationship between transformational leadership and openness to change. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, the research utilizes the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. Data were collected using purposive sampling and analyzed with SmartPLS software. The questionnaire was distributed via Google Forms, allowing broad dissemination across Indonesia, and resulting in 293 respondents participating in the study. The findings indicate that transformational leadership significantly influences employees’ organizational trust, which, in turn, directly enhances their openness to change. However, this study has certain limitations, particularly regarding the sample, which comprises employees exclusively from the banking sector. Transformational leadership, however, is relevant across various organizational contexts. Another limitation lies in the focus on mediation as an indirect effect. The results of this study offer valuable insights for stakeholders in the banking sector, serving as a guideline to enhance employee well-being amidst organizational system changes. This is particularly pertinent given the recent acquisitions among Islamic banks in Indonesia. The study adopts transformational leadership theory to explore its application within the context of Indonesian Islamic banks, focusing on their employees as the study’s primary subject

Physical properties and food safety of edible bioplastic films prepared from nata de tomato blend
Edible film is a thin layer that can be digested by the body and used as food packaging. The manufacture of edible films utilizes bacterial cellulose fibers from nata de tomato as a reinforcing material. This study evaluates the physical characteristics, structure, and food safety of edible films made from nata de tomato. The tested sample contains 2.5% nata de tomato with 1% glycerin and other additives. Physical analysis includes thickness, tensile strength, elongation, density, opacity, moisture content, and water solubility. The structure was examined using FTIR and SEM, while food safety testing involved heavy metal analysis (As, Cd, Pb, Hg) and microbiological testing (Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., and Staphylococcus aureus). The results show that physical characteristics such as thickness, tensile strength, density, opacity, moisture content, and water solubility meet feasibility standards, although the low elongation requires the addition of glycerin. FTIR and SEM analyses indicate that cellulose polymers are the main component of the edible film. The edibility test shows that the edible films made from nata de tomato are safe from heavy metal and microbial contamination.
