Factors Affecting Illegal Land-use Changes in Residential Areas: (Case Study: District 6 of Tehran)
Today, understanding the trend of land-use changes and its contributing factors is one of the important issues in urban land-use planning and urban management policies. Not all land-use changes comply with urban development plan regulations. Illegal land-use changes, especially in residential areas, are often implemented to reduce the municipality tax for small businesses in large cities in Iran. This trend has become a source of income for municipalities through fine acquisition. The objective of this study was to identify the factors contributing to incompatible and illegal land-use changes in the case study of District 6 in Tehran. The research method used in this study was descriptive-analytical. The data was collected using a questionnaire and a field study. The data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test and confirmatory factor analysis using the equation modeling technique in the LISREL software. According to the research findings, escape from the traffic scheme zone, with a coefficient load factor of 0.86, and economic profitability, with a coefficient load factor of 0.84, were the most important factors motivating illegal land-use changes in the residential areas in this case study (District 6, Tehran). The main conclusion of this research is the need for change in Tehran urban policies for mitigation of urban planning violations. Specially in this case, the impact of the traffic scheme zone in Tehran should be considered. Another suggestion is the adoption of new urban policies related to taxes on unauthorized activities in residential areas that can counteract the market response to possible changes
Photocatalytic Simulation of Phenol Waste Degradation Using Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) P25-Based Photocatalysts
Phenol waste treatment is vital in industries such as polymer production, coal gasification, refinery, and coke production. Photocatalytic technology using semiconductor materials offers an effective and ecofriendly approach to degrade phenol. TiO2 P25 is a widely used photocatalyst, known for its cost-effectiveness, favorable optical and electronic properties, high photoactivity, and photostability. The PHOTOREAC application, a recently developed MATLAB-based software, simulates the degradation of phenol using visible light. A study that combines existing literature and research revealed that pH significantly influences photocatalytic activity, with an optimum pH of 7 for TiO2 P25-mediated phenol degradation. The recommended photocatalyst concentration ranged from 0 to 10 g/L for reactor volumes between 25 and 60 mL, and from 0 to 5 g/L for 100-mL reactors. Phenol wastewater volume and light intensity also impact degradation efficiency. Adequate oxygen supply, achieved through bubbling and mixing, is essential for the formation of radical compounds. The Ballari kinetic model proved to be the most suitable for phenol degradation with TiO2 P25. Thus, by combining PHOTOREAC simulations with experimental data, the treatment process could be optimized to achieve higher degradation efficiency and estimate the treatment time for specific waste degradation levels. This study contributes to the advancement of phenol waste treatment and the development of improved photocatalytic wastewater treatment technologies

Applying Fluorescence Dissolved Organic Matter Spectra and Phytoplankton Biology Index for Assessing Urban River Quality
The relationship between phytoplankton dynamics and dissolved organic matter (DOM) in aquatic systems based on fluorophore organic matter properties results in poor implementation of methods for water quality monitoring. This study aimed to investigate the relation between fluorophore organic matter and phytoplankton index and to estimate the phytoplankton index by fluorescent organic components for water quality assessment. The research was conducted by sampling urban river water, followed by measuring the biological phytoplankton index and dissolved organic matter during the wet and dry seasons. Fluorescence Excitation Emission Matrices (FEEMs) analysis combined with Parallel Factor (PARAFAC) analysis identified three main components of the fluorescence organic matter, i.e., a fulvic acid-like component (C1) and humic acid-like components (C2 and C3), in the aquatic system, whether in the dry season or the wet season. C1 was mainly generated by phytoplankton species, i.e., Nitzschia sp., Plectonema sp., Navicula sp., and Pinnularia sp., and C2 and C3 had a less significant relationship with phytoplankton species. The diversity of Bacillariophyta had a stronger contribution to the release of DOM than the diversity of Cyanobacteria. The abundance index of a particular phytoplankton species can be used to determine the organic components of FEEM-derived fluorescence organic matter
3D Modeling of Leachate Distribution Around Zone E of Batu Layang Landfill, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia Using the Geoelectrical Method
Open dumping systems as implemented by the Batu Layang landfill in Pontianak City, Indonesia can cause leachate pollution in the environment. The constituent soil condition affects the leachate distribution into the ground. One of the landfill constituents of the soil at the site of the Batu Layang landfill is peat soil, in which organic content (>75%), porosity, and permeability are high. Leachate that seeps below the earth’s surface can cause soil and groundwater contamination. Meanwhile, people around landfills use groundwater for their daily needs and use the land around the landfill to grow papaya, banana, sugarcane, and taro. Therefore it is necessary to prevent and minimize leachate spread. One of the efforts that can be done is to model the leachate distribution. In this study, leachate distribution modeling was done with a geoelectric method, the Wenner configuration, with a smallest electrode distance of 5 m. There were six tracks, with a length of 195 m each. The model obtained from this study was a 3D resistivity section. 3D data processing was done using the inverse distance method. The results showed that a resistivity value ≤10 Ωm identified the soil layer contaminated with leachate. The contaminated soil layers were estimated to be peat, clay, and loamy sand. The leachate distribution is suspected of seeping up to 195 m south of the landfill. The leachate distribution into the soil was estimated from the surface to 33.8 m

This framework can be utilized to investigate tourists' purchase intention for cruise holidays and assist the cruise tourism industry in devising appropriate policies and designing cruise tourism products. This study is the first to develop a model for tourists' purchase intentions for cruise holidays after the COVID-19 outbreak
Word Frequencies in Linguistic Articles Published in SINTA Indexed Journals
Multiword sequences are a language pattern that occurs when a bunch of words emerge in a similar register. In research papers conducted by lecturers and students, different topic areas and indexes has created various characteristics of lexical bundles. The method of this research is qualitative, combining corpus design to identify the sequence of words within the text. The corpus data were generated from five different indexing journals, yet the topic is linguistics. Initially, the whole papers were converted to text format to deal with readability in the program used. The program used was Orange Apps version 3.27 by applying the textable, data table, and text mining menus. The sources of the data are emphasized as being academic research indexed in SINTA 5, published in 2020. The main theory of used in this research is that of Biber’s (2007) which discusses the main characteristics and number of criteria for defining word strings. This observation resulted in 207.896 characters and 33.636 words. There were 4,273 words based on the pre-processing analysis result, which included transformation, tokenization, and PoS-tagging. From a total of 4,273 words, virus, deixis, and slang were the most frequently occurring. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the majority of journal articles are about viruses and slang. They pertain to the prevalent topic of pandemics at the time the journals were published. When the process of writing a journal article is in progress, this information may aid the authors in identifying the journal’s keywords and most frequent words
