Understanding Hotel Employees’ Perceptions of Guests with Disabilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
While previous research has mainly concentrated on understanding the requirements of guests with disabilities, there is a notable gap in exploring the perspectives held by hotel employees. This study endeavors to address this research gap by investigating how hotel employees in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) perceive guests with disabilities. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this research seeks to uncover employee attitudes and knowledge, their roles in fostering inclusivity, and the significance of communication between management and staff in elevating service quality. Notably, the study’s key findings underscore a significant link between employee contentment and customer satisfaction within hotels in HCMC, underscoring the pivotal role of effective communication in enhancing service quality. The research’s most prominent discovery indicates that a substantial proportion of hotel staff (88.5%) strongly agree on the importance of providing accessibility for guests with disabilities, as evident from the outcomes of the online survey. This outcome demonstrates a commendable high level of awareness among hotel employees concerning the specific needs of customers with disabilities. In terms of hotels’ overarching outlook towards guests with disabilities, a majority of managers voiced the perspective that hotels do not actively focus on disabled guests as a distinct market segment. These findings provide invaluable insights that can guide hotel managers and employees, contributing to a more comprehensive comprehension of how to establish an inclusive environment within the hospitality industry

Conditioned Medium of IGF1-Induced Human Wharton’s Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells Effects on Sox9 Gene Expression and Level of COL2 and IL1β in Osteoarthritic Chondrocytes
Wharton’s jelly mesenchymal stem cells (WJMSCs) hold promises for treating osteoarthritis (OA) due to their great capacity for regeneration and their accessibility. However, obstacles like poor cell survival and differentiation prevent them from being used in transplants. Thus, this study examined WJMSCs’ Conditioned Medium (CM) (WJMSCs-CM) for OA treatment. In order to determine how well IL1β-induced chondrocyte cells (IL1β-CHON002) heal OA-damaged cells, they were treated with both IGF1-induced and uninduced WJMSCs-CM. Key parameters measured were IL1β, Sox9 and COL2. The STRING database was explored to evaluate the proteins contained in WJMSCs-CM and to see their interactions and CM potential in OA exposure. The STRING database indicates WJMSCs-CM to possess the ability to manage OA because of the growth factors they contain, which raise the expression of cartilage marker genes. The results indicated that 15% WJMSCs-CM with 150 ng/mL IGF1 had the highest Sox9 expression, significant reduction in pro-inflammatory mediators, and an increase in COL2 levels. Additionally, 14 days of treatment resulted in better outcomes compared to 7 days. CM from WJMSCs treated with IGF1 with a concentration of 15% exhibited the highest level for each parameter. Both durations showed difference across parameters, highlighting the potential for OA therapy
Cultural Origin of European Modern Design
Cultural studies of modern design are of great importance to scholarly research of modern design history, particularly in the context of the trend towards analysis and interpretation of modern design from sociological and cultural points of view. This article investigates the link between European modern design and the tradition of Western culture. Based on the definition of rationalism and idealism as ideal types of the Western cultural tradition, the investigation revealed that European modern design presents these ideal types through diversified design activities in the modern movements. It concludes that European modern design, as visualization of cultural codes, is a manifestation of Europe’s cultural heritage, although it reflects a revolutionary stance against the cultural background of modernization and achieved a breakthrough that showed the innovative quality of modern culture. This study also unfolded the long-term effect of culture on the rise of European modern design, which strongly indicates culture’s continuity in the long-range historical process and explains that the significance of European modern design is embodied not only in the revolution or innovation of modern culture but also in cultural inheritance and historical continuity
An Accident Analysis during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Indonesia uses the Accident Rate Method
Abstract
Land transportation traffic accidents in Indonesia were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, several transportation policies were implemented. An absolute must for implementing transportation safety. During the Covid pandemic in 2019 and 2020, the average number of traffic accidents was 25%, the number of fatalities was 24%, the number of injured victims was 21% and the number of accidents was 25%. In 2021, Indonesian people will begin to face new normal conditions, where all activities run normally in line with the presence of the Covid 19 virus. So that in 2021 and 2022 there will be another increase in the number of traffic accidents, deaths, injuries and accidents. The average figures for 2021 and 2022 for the number of traffic accidents are 26%, the number of fatalities is 26%, the number of injured victims is 23% and the number of accidents is 28%. With the presence of Regulation Number 21 of 2020 concerning PSBB, the number of accidents in Indonesia can be reduced, but the reduction in the accident rate has not occurred significantly. In 2019 the accident rate was 31% and in the year the PSBB policy was implemented the accident rate was 23%, the reduction in the accident rate was only 8%.

Modeling the Co-Infection Dynamics of COVID-19 and Dengue: Well-posedness, Analysis of Equilibrium Properties, and Policy Implications through Numerical Simulations
COVID-19 is an infectious disease primarily transmitted to individuals through direct contact with respiratory droplets. The infection, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), continues to spread globally infecting around 776 million confirmed cases, including over 7 million deaths. Meanwhile, dengue is a vector-borne disease caused by the Flaviviridae virus and is transmitted through bites from female mosquitoes, primarily Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. It is estimated that 390 million dengue virus infections occur per year caused by four distinct virus serotypes–DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4. The COVID-19 pandemic has further strained public health systems, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions where dengue is endemic. The overlapping presence of these infectious diseases heightens the risk of co-infection, posing additional diagnostic and treatment challenges. Co-infection of COVID-19 and dengue cases were already reported and confirmed in several countries. In this study, an 11-compartmentalized deterministic mathematical model was developed to understand the transmission dynamics of COVID-19 and dengue co-infection. This modeling approach was described by a system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), examining disease progression over time, offering insights into potential co-infection scenarios andcontrol strategies to help guide public health interventions. The well-posedness of the model was verified, ensuring the existence and uniqueness of its solutions based on continuity, local Lipschitz conditions, and invariance over a compact feasible region. The basic reproduction number (R0), a significant indicator of disease transmission, was calculated using the Next Generation Method (NGM). Four equilibrium points were identified: the disease-free, COVID-19-only, dengue-only, and COVID-19-dengue co-infection equilibrium points. Threshold values of the basic reproduction number were calculated to establish the conditions for the existence and stability of the equilibrium points. These equilibrium points and threshold values provide critical insight into the conditions necessary for eradicating or controlling each disease, serving as a guide for developing interventions during different stages of an epidemic or pandemic. Furthermore, a phase diagram of two parameters sensitive to R0 (COVID-19 transmission βc and dengue vector-to-human transmission Cvh) was established which presented six distinct regions of existence and stability states of the equilibrium points. These regions described different stable epidemiological scenarios whenever the parameter values were varied. Numerical simulations were conducted to verify the stability results and to analyze the effects of varied parameter values on the model solution. The simulations illustrated the positive impacts of reducing the recovery period on the spread of infections even with increasing transmission rates. This demonstrates the effectiveness of timely interventions, such as accelerated recovery through early diagnosis and treatment, in mitigating the severity of outbreaks. All the algebraic calculations, analysis, and numerical simulations were conducted with the aid of MATLAB R2023b and Maple software
Pengaruh Olahraga untuk Mencegah Osteoporosis terhadap Kepadatan Mineral Tulang pada Wanita Usia 25-35 Tahun
Reports of surveys on exercises that can increase bone mineral density (BMD) have already been proven in many studies. One of the efforts to organize formal physical exercise for every level of society is the formation of Senam Pencegahan Osteoporosis (SPO) - Physical Exercise to Prevent Osteoporosis. Is SPO able to increase BMD for women aged 25-35 years? A total of 46 healthy young women ranging from 25 -35 years of age who had never done or even were not involved in any exercise before the time of the study were divided into two groups (23 experimental and 23 control participants) and volunteered to proceed a three times a week of this exercise for 3,5 months. BMD was measured by using Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA). A significant increase of BMD in the ulna, vertebral lumbar 2, and vertebral lumbar 1-2 was detected in the experimental group. There is a strong indication that SPO can increase BMD, especially in the ulna, which has a high risk of osteoporosis.
