    Implementation Of Hots (Higher Order Thinking Skill) Based Learning In Improving Learning Interest Of Grade X

    This study aims to determine the effect of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based learning on students’ learning interest in Economics among tenth-grade students of SMA Swasta Santa Maria Medan. The research used an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of class X-1 (control, 30 students) and class X-2 (experimental, 29 students). The instrument used was a student learning interest questionnaire.The results showed that students’ learning interest in the control class increased by 10.20 points, while the experimental class increased by 14.97 points. The independent sample t-test indicated a significant difference between the two groups with t(58) = 3.09 and p = 0.003 (< 0.05). This means HOTS-based learning has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ learning interest

    The Effect Of Visual Learning Style On Outcomes Class X Students' Learning In Subjects Economics

    This research was conducted to determine the influence of visual learning style on the learning achievement of class X students in Economics subjects at Parulian 2 Medan High School. The background of this research starts from the low understanding of students towards abstract economic material and the dominance of lecture learning methods that are not suitable for students' learning styles, especially students with visual learning styles. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach using a one group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 22 students who had a dominant visual learning style, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used include visual learning style questionnaires, learning achievement tests (pretest and posttest), and learning implementation observation sheets. The results of data analysis show that there is a significant influence between visual learning styles on student learning achievement. This is proven from the results of a simple linear regression test with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a determination coefficient value (R²) of 0.918, which means 91.8% of student learning achievement is influenced by visual learning style. In addition, the results of the N-Gain test showed an average increase of 0.4325 (medium category), which indicates that visual-based learning is quite effective in improving student learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of learning strategies that are in accordance with the student's visual learning style has a positive effect on improving learning achievement.     Dark tourism merupakan jenis pariwisata baru yang mulai mendapat perhatian dalam dekade terakhir. Dark tourism merupakan bentuk pariwisata yang berfokus pada kunjungan ke lokasi-lokasi yang memiliki sejarah tragedi, bencana, kematian dan peristiwa memilukan lainnya. Secara konseptual, dark tourism dapat menjadi sarana edukasi yang mampu menanamkan nilai-nilai sejarah dan kemanusiaan. Dark tourism sebagai wisata edukatif dapat memperluas wawasan pengunjung tentang isu-isu global. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji berbagai studi sebelumnya mengenai dark tourism dalam konteks wisata edukatif melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dan diperoleh tiga puluh sembilan karya-karya ilmiah terpublikasi melalui Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, serta situs-situs jurnal nasional lainnya, dengan kata kunci dark tourism, dark tourism dalam lingkup wisata edukatif, educational tourism, dark tourism and education, dan experiential tourism education. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari berbagai bentuk situs dark tourism, museum merupakan kategori edukatif yang paling umum ditemukan karena secara langsung menyajikan informasi sejarah dan narasi tragedi. Kategori lainnya mencakup bekas medan pertempuran, taman dengan nilai sejarah, kamp konsentrasi, lokasi pemakaman yang telah direkonstruksi, bekas penjara, patung peringatan, hingga kawasan seperti pulau lumpur berfungsi sebagai sarana pembelajaran kuat pada situs-situs dark tourism

    Meskipun penelitian tentang adaptasi mahasiswa internasional telah banyak dilakukan, kajian yang menyoroti persepsi dan pengalaman adaptasi mahasiswa Thailand di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi Islam multikultural masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi persepsi mahasiswa Thailand terhadap layanan akademik serta proses adaptasi sosial dan akademik mereka di Program Studi Tadris Bahasa Inggris, UIN KHAS Jember. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan diskusi kelompok terarah yang melibatkan mahasiswa Thailand. Analisis tematik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola utama dalam proses adaptasi tersebut. Berlandaskan Teori Multikulturalisme (Parekh, 2000; Kymlicka, 1995), Teori Adaptasi Antarbudaya (Kim, 2001), Teori Identitas Sosial (Tajfel & Turner, 1979), dan Teori Pembelajaran Sosial (Bandura, 1977), hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Thailand memandang lingkungan akademik di UIN KHAS Jember sebagai ruang belajar yang inklusif dan suportif terhadap keberagaman budaya. Empati dosen, dukungan institusional, serta interaksi positif dengan mahasiswa lokal memperkuat keterlibatan akademik dan kompetensi antarbudaya mereka. Namun demikian, kendala bahasa, perbedaan pedagogis, dan kompleksitas administratif masih menjadi tantangan dalam proses adaptasi. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya kebijakan institusional yang responsif, mencakup pelatihan bahasa, penguatan kompetensi antarbudaya, serta sistem pendampingan berkelanjutan untuk mendukung keberhasilan adaptasi mahasiswa internasional di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi Islam

    This study examines the role of runggu cultural communication in resolving divorce conflicts among the Karo tribe in Lingga Cultural Village. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach and in-depth interviews. The runggu forum involves elements of rakut sitelu: kalimbubu, sembuyak, and anak beru. Interpersonal communication in runggu is conducted using polite and focused traditional language. Karo cultural values encourage peaceful resolution and prevent divorce. The mediation and negotiation process is guided by a neutral mediator who understands customs. If the conflict is successfully resolved, a purpursage (peace agreement) is made; if it fails, customary sanctions (purpursage) are imposed.  Runggu cultural communication supports conflict resolution based on mutually beneficial win-win solutions. These research findings align with face negotiation theory and intercultural communication. Runggu has proven effective as a conflict resolution mechanism within a collective cultural context

    Kasus kekerasan seksual yang dilakukan dokter Priguna Anugerah Pratama di Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin Bandung menjadi perhatian publik dan media massa. Hal ini karena pada kasus kekerasan seksual, wanita sering diposisikan sebagai objek dominan yang dimarginaliasasi pada berbagai pemberitaan. Sehingga pada pemberitaan di Tempo.co, ingin melihat apakah pemberitaan yang serupa juga terjadi. Tulisan ini menggunakan analisis wacana kritis Sara Mills untuk mengkaji bagaimana pemberitaan media, khususnya tempo.co, merepresentasikan pelaku dan korban dalam konteks gender. Fokus analisis adalah pada posisi subjek dan objek dan posisi pembaca dalam berita serta implikasi representasi aktor terhadap reproduksi ideologi patriarki. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberitaan cenderung menempatkan pelaku sebagai subjek aktif sementara korban diposisikan sebagai objek melalui narasi institusional. Representasi ini berpotensi memperkuat stereotip gender dan mengaburkan pengalaman korban dalam pemberitaan media. Tulisan ini merekomendasikan pentingnya pemberitaan yang lebih sensitif gender dan memberikan ruang suara bagi korban untuk  mendukung kesetaraan gender

    This study aims to analyze the effect of supervisor phubbing on employee communication satisfaction with supervisor, employee trust in supervisor and employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of North Tapanuli Regency. A quantitative approach with an explanatory method was used in this study. The theories used in this study are Expectancy Violation Theory, Media Dependence Theory and Social Presence Theory. The population in this study were all ASN at the Regional Secretariat of North Tapanuli Regency who have Functional Positions (staff). The sampling technique in this study used the total sampling technique. The research instrument was distributed to 105 research respondents through a questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using a single table analysis, direct effect test and indirect effect test. The results of the study tested using the SmartPLS application showed that supervisor phubbing had a significant negative effect on subordinate communication satisfaction with supervisor. Supervisor phubbing had a significant negative effect on employee trust in supervisor. Supervisor phubbing had a negative and significant effect on employee performance

    This research aims to understand the aspects of literary psychology based on Maslow's theory and how humans achieve self-actualization. The research data is in the form of sentences containing elements of the hierarchy of human needs. The data collection techniques include reading, listening, and note-taking. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The research results show that Nirbita's ego needs are the most dominant, with 22 data showing her desire to be valued, recognized, and express her feelings. The main factors influencing her psychological needs are a broken home situation, lack of self-confidence, fear and shame, rudeness, an unsupportive environment, and her introverted nature. &nbsp

    THE BUDDHA’S TEACHING ON TILAKKHAṆA: A BUDDHIST DECONSTRUCTION OF SOUL THEORY IN INDIAN PHILOSOPHY

    This research aims to examine the Buddha’s teaching on Tilakkhaṇa and present the critical analysis on how the Tilakkhaṇa teaching can be used to reject the soul theory. By using the qualitative research methodology, carried out with library approach, this research presents comprehensive explanation on the non-soul theory (anatta) presented by the Buddha in order to counter the soul theory. Tilakkhaṇa is the philosophical teaching to prove that soul theory is ungrounded. The three characteristics of existence such as impermanence (aniccā), suffering (dukkha) and non-self (anattā) are the truth of existence rejecting the soul theory. It is because all conditioned things are impermanent, therefore they are fraught by suffering (yad aniccaṃ taṃ dukkhaṃ). Because they are impermanent and suffering, therefore they are to be seen as non-self. Whatever suffering, it is also non-self (yaṃ dukkhaṃ tadanattā). By utilizing the content analysis method, this research contributes an insight on how Tilakkhaṇa teaching is applied to reject the soul theory

    Free Lunch Program For Students In Several Countries And Valuable Lessons For Indonesia Preparing The Golden Generation Of 2045

    Improving the quality of human resources is Indonesia's main goal to achieve Golden Generation status by 2045. This research analyzes different lunch program models that have been successfully implemented in countries such as Finland, Japan, Brazil, and India. The analysis shows that the success of these programs does not only depend on nutritional aspects; integrated nutrition education, parental participation, and support from the government and community are also important. In schools, nutritious food is very important for the health and cognitive development of students as well as for improving their academic performance. This research found challenges and opportunities for Indonesia in implementing similar programs. This research uses a qualitative approach. The recommendations made include enhancing educator training, implementing policies that support the provision of healthy food in schools, and raising public awareness about the importance of good nutrition for children. By taking valuable lessons from other countries, it is hoped that Indonesia can develop an efficient and sustainable lunch program. This will improve students' health and help build a competitive generation to achieve the Golden Generation 2045
