    Optimization of Writing Skills through the Jolly Phonics Method: An Innovative Approach in Arabic Language Learning

    This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Jolly Phonics method in improving the maharah kit?bah skills of students in the Arabic Language 1 class at Pondok Pesantren Al Qur’an Al Karim Palembang. Using a quasi-experimental design with data collected through pretests and posttests administered to 20 students, the results show that prior to the intervention, the students\u27 maharah kit?bah skills were categorized as moderate, with an average pretest score of 65.5. After the intervention, the average posttest score increased to 80.5, reflecting a 15% improvement. Hypothesis testing revealed a t-value of 4.016, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.711, thus confirming the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H_a) and rejection of the null hypothesis (H_o). The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, with a Z-value of -3.193 and an Asymp. Sig. value of 0.001. This suggests that the observed changes in the students\u27 scores were not coincidental but rather the result of the intervention. Overall, this study concludes that the Jolly Phonics method is effective in improving maharah kit?bah skills in students

    THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STORYTELLING LEARNING IN SPEAKING THROUGH TWO STAY TWO STRAY

    English holds significant importance for students for a multitude of reasons, impacting their academic, professional, and personal development. Numerous scholarships and international exchange programs require proficiency in English, opening doors to global educational experiences this study aims to find out the application of the Two Stay Two Stray strategy through Storytelling in the learning process, find out Two Stay Two Stray strategy through Storytelling that improve students\u27 speaking ability, and know obstacles in implementing Two Stay Two Stray strategy through Storytelling. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive explanations. The results of this study found that the teachers are successful in implementing storytelling learning in speaking through the Two Stay Two Stray strategy. The obstacles which are faced by the teachers are 1) students have various characteristics, 2) students have low vocabularies, and so on. Meanwhile, the opportunities that are faced by the teachers are 1) the dynamic nature of Two Stay Two Stray keeps students actively engaged, 2) regular practice in speaking and presenting stories builds students’ confidence, and so forth. The English teachers’ interviews show that the teachers succeed in implementing storytelling learning in speaking through Two Stay Two Stray. Besides, the students’ interviews show that the students can enhance their speaking skills in storytelling learning through the Two Stay Two Stray strategy

    Pengelolaan Tenaga Pendidik dan Kependidikan dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Peserta Didik

    This study aims to examine the management of teaching and educational staff in improving student quality. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis in several schools. The findings indicate that the management of educational personnel directly affects students’ academic and character development. However, challenges such as lack of training, improper placement, and weak evaluation systems remain significant obstacles. This study recommends the need for strategic planning and ongoing professional development to ensure that educational human resource management effectively supports high-quality learning processes.Keywords: Teaching and Educational Personnel, Student Quality, ManagementPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengelolaan tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan dalam meningkatkan mutu peserta didik. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi di beberapa sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan berpengaruh langsung terhadap peningkatan kualitas akademik dan karakter peserta didik. Namun, tantangan seperti kurangnya pelatihan, penempatan yang tidak sesuai kompetensi, serta lemahnya sistem evaluasi masih menjadi kendala. Studi ini merekomendasikan perlunya perencanaan strategis dan pengembangan profesional yang berkelanjutan agar pengelolaan SDM pendidikan dapat mendukung proses pembelajaran yang efektif dan bermutu.Kata Kunci: Tenaga Pendidik dan Kependidikan, Mutu Peserta Didik, Pengelolaan

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi feminisme dalam film Hati Suhita dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika John Fiske. Dalam budaya patriarki, perempuan sering digambarkan sebagai karakter yang terpinggirkan, pasif, dan lemah dalam media, sementara laki-laki dianggap dominan dan kuat. Film Hati Suhita menawarkan perspektif berbeda dengan menggambarkan perjuangan seorang perempuan, Suhita, yang berusaha melawan norma-norma patriarki dan memperjuangkan hak-hak perempuan. Film ini menampilkan berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi perempuan dalam masyarakat, baik dalam konteks sosial, budaya, maupun politik. Melalui karakter Suhita dan tokoh perempuan lainnya, film ini menggambarkan kesadaran akan pentingnya kesetaraan gender dan perubahan sosial yang diperlukan untuk menghapuskan diskriminasi terhadap perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode semiotika John Fiske, yang meliputi tiga level analisis: denotasi (makna literal), konotasi (makna yang lebih dalam), dan ideologi. Dengan pendekatan ini, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi simbol-simbol dan tanda-tanda dalam film yang merepresentasikan feminisme, serta menganalisis bagaimana elemen-elemen visual dan naratif dalam film membentuk pesan-pesan ideologis terkait kesetaraan gender. Penelitian ini memiliki kontribusi baru dalam studi feminisme dengan mengkaji representasi gender dalam film Indonesia, khususnya dalam konteks budaya patriarki yang kuat. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan baru tentang peran media dalam mengkritisi ketidaksetaraan gender dan mendorong perubahan sosial menuju kesetaraan

    Islamic legal thought undergoes dynamic development from the classical to the contemporary era, influenced by social, political, and cultural changes. This study aims to analyse and compare the Islamic legal thought of classical figures, such as Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam al-Shafi\u27i, and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, with the thoughts of contemporary figures, such as Muhammad Abduh, Rashid Rida, Fazlur Rahman, and Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na\u27im, in facing modern legal challenges. This research uses a qualitative method with a historical-comparative approach to identify the transformation of Islamic legal thought and its relevance in contemporary legal practice. The results show that classical thought is more oriented towards sharia texts with a systematic methodology of legal istinbath based on ijma\u27, qiyas, and istihsan, while contemporary thought emphasises the reinterpretation of Islamic law through ijtihad, maqasid sharia, and contextualisation of legal norms to remain relevant in modern social dynamics. This study contributes to providing a more comprehensive perspective on the evolution of Islamic law and its implications for the formation of Islamic legal policies in the modern era

    Inclusion of Halal Labels on Food Products from a Legal Perspective and its Implications for the Lives of Muslim Consumers in Indonesia

    The inclusion of halal labels on food products is one of the consumer protection efforts, especially for Muslims who are required to consume halal food according to their religious teachings. From a legal perspective in Indonesia, the provisions regarding halal labels are regulated in Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (UU JPH), which requires every product that enters, circulates, and is traded in the territory of Indonesia to be halal certified, unless stated otherwise. The method used in this study is normative juridical with data collection techniques through document studies. This obligation is not only normative, but also has a broad impact on the practices of production, distribution, and consumption of food products. The implications of this regulation are very significant, especially in guaranteeing the rights of Muslim consumers to obtain certainty and comfort in consuming products that are in accordance with religious values. In addition, the inclusion of halal labels also affects consumer trust, product competitiveness, and the growth of the national halal industry.     Legal Politics of Child Participation in the Public Policy Process in Batang Regency: A Study of the Implementation of the Principles of Child Protection

    This research analyses the legal politics of children\u27s participation in public policy in Batang District, focusing on the gap between normative recognition and practical implementation. Although Indonesia has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child (KHA) and adopted it in the Child Protection Law, children\u27s participation rights are still reduced, as seen in the vagueness of Article 10 of Law No. 23/2002 which limits participation based on ‘decency and propriety’. This qualitative study combines legal document analysis, participatory observation at the Children\u27s Forum and Musrenbang (2018-2024), as well as stakeholder interviews, to find that children\u27s participation in Batang District-despite being recognised as a Child Friendly District-is symbolic. Key challenges include a lack of stakeholder understanding, manipulation of children\u27s voices, and the absence of a follow-up mechanism for aspirations, which is reflected in the omission of participation indicators in the Regional Action Plan. The research concludes that there is a need to strengthen ratification of the KHA, constitutional amendments to recognise children\u27s right to be heard, and local policy reforms that guarantee space for meaningful participation. The findings emphasise the urgency of a holistic approach in the politics of child protection law

    REKONSTRUKSI KONSEP KEPEMILIKAN (AL-MILKIYAH) DALAM EKONOMI SYARIAH MODERN

    The concept of ownership (al-milkiyah) plays a pivotal role in Islamic economic systems as an instrument of justice and social welfare. However, the rise of digitalization and the emergence of intangible assets such as personal data, digital rights, and blockchain-based assets demand a reconstruction of ownership to remain relevant in contemporary contexts. This study aims to analyze and reconstruct the concept of al-milkiyah within modern Islamic economic thought through an in-depth literature review of classical and contemporary sources. Using a qualitative method and thematic synthesis integrated with the framework of maqashid al-shariah, the study finds that ownership is not an absolute right but a trust carrying social responsibility, grounded in justice and collective benefit. The reconstruction includes the recognition of digital and intangible assets, provided they meet principles of legal certainty, utility, and protection against speculation or excessive uncertainty. The integrative-interconnective approach enables adaptive interpretation of ownership concepts while preserving core Islamic values. The novelty of this study lies in synthesizing classical and contemporary thought with an integrative approach to propose a contextual framework of al-milkiyah. These findings are expected to contribute to developing Islamic economic theory, policymaking, and the creation of halal digital products

    The development of digital technology and social media has created new opportunities for innovation in language learning, including Arabic. TikTok, as a short-video platform, offers interactive and engaging features that have the potential to enhance students’ learning experiences. This study aims to identify effective strategies for Arabic language instruction through TikTok and to provide practical recommendations for teachers. The method used in this research is a literature review, examining various sources related to the use of social media in Arabic language education. The findings show that teachers play a crucial role in designing, managing, and evaluating TikTok-based learning. The method used in this research is a literature review, examining various sources related to the use of social media in Arabic language education. Seven key strategies can be applied, namely microlearning, creative repetition for vocabulary, gamification, digital storytelling, collaboration through duet and stitch, visualization of qawa‘id through simple animations, and motivational content. Although effective in increasing students’ motivation and engagement, the use of TikTok also faces challenges such as internet access, distraction, limited editing skills, and digital ethics issues. Therefore, TikTok is recommended as a supplementary medium rather than the main source of instruction

    This study examines the phenomenon of Living Qur’an as manifested in the tradition of mangaji pusaro among the community of Nagari Lurah Ampalu, Padang Pariaman Regency. The research aims to explore the historical background, procedural stages, and the spiritual and social values embedded within this tradition. Employing a descriptive qualitative method with an anthropological approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that mangaji pusaro is not merely a communal grave-visiting ritual, but a collective spiritual expression that integrates Qur’anic recitation with the local cultural wisdom of Minangkabau. This tradition strengthens social solidarity, cultivates awareness of mortality (dzikrul maut), and serves as a medium for internalizing Qur’anic values in daily life. Thus, mangaji pusaro represents a harmonious synthesis between Islamic teachings and local tradition, contributing to the preservation of religious and socio-cultural values within the Minangkabau community.Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena Living Al-Qur’an yang terwujud dalam tradisi mangaji pusaro pada masyarakat Nagari Lurah Ampalu, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap sejarah, prosesi pelaksanaan, serta nilai-nilai spiritual dan sosial yang terkandung dalam tradisi tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan antropologis, melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi mangaji pusaro bukan sekadar ritual ziarah kubur bersama, melainkan sebuah ekspresi spiritual komunal yang memadukan pembacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Qur’an dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal Minangkabau. Tradisi ini memperkuat solidaritas sosial, menumbuhkan kesadaran akan kematian (dzikrul maut), serta menjadi sarana internalisasi nilai-nilai Al-Qur’an dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Dengan demikian, mangaji pusaro merupakan manifestasi Living Al-Qur’an yang menampilkan harmonisasi antara ajaran Islam dan tradisi lokal, sehingga berkontribusi terhadap pelestarian nilai-nilai religius dan sosial budaya masyarakat Minangkabau
