    Development of RAW Image Format Converter Using Deep Learning

    RAW development is an operation manually performed by a person in order to finish a photograph according to his / her desire. At this time, many image adjustment parameters are set, and confirmation and adjustment are repeated. The work requires much time and effort, and it is very difficult to make many photos taken into the desired images. However, if deep learning is used, learning RAW images and photographs after RAW development may create photographs of the same level as manual RAW development. In this research, we succeeded in developing a machine learning model that performs RAW development using RAW data as input. We also aimed to improve the processing speed of learning using GPGPU. As a result of comparing processing in which RAW development is performed for 100 images with a single multi-core CPU using a parallel program and processing using a GPGPU, it is shown that the latter can be significantly faster.departmental bulletin pape

    Study on a reference point for path interval calculation in filleted end milling

    This study focuses on a computational approach of path interval determination in filleted end milling. Path interval is known as a machining condition achieving a suitable balance between manufacturing efficiency and machined surface quality even in multi-axis machining. However, the practical knowledge has been scarcely reported so far. In this study, the two reference points were investigated to provide a suitable path interval under a tool inclination angle along a feed direction.     本研究は各個人の経済状況について、本人の努力に左右される度合いの意識と、責任を感じる度合いの意識の関係を分析する。データは、ランダムサンプリングによる「2018年度暮らしについての西東京市民調査」(N =292)を用いた。分析の結果、全体の半数以上に不均衡があり、約3 割以上が努力の度合いに比べて責任を過大に感じていることが明らかになった。さらに多項ロジスティック回帰分析の結果、等価所得が低いほど努力の度合いに比べて責任を過小に感じることに有意な効果を持つことが明らかになった。分析を通じて、人々の意識における責任実践の不均衡な規定構造が明らかになった。departmental bulletin pape

    Revealing the Origins of the U.S. Military Base Issues in Okinawa

    The purpose of this article is to report the results of the book review meeting on my book, The U.S. Military Bases in Okinawa, and Japan-U.S. Security Arrangements: The Origins of Long-Term Bases(University of Tokyo Press, 2018). In it, I revealed the policy-making and negotiation process between the Japanese and the US governments over Okinawa, focusing on the changes in the role of the US military bases in Okinawa from 1945 to 1953. I argued that there was a possibility that the rearmament of Japan could have led to the return of Okinawa to Japan and reduced the number of US military bases in Okinawa. In this paper, I would like to summarize the issues discussed at the book review meeting, after introducing an outline of the book.departmental bulletin pape
