A preliminary study of regional creative vision: insights from creative enterprises’ founders in Indonesia
A creative enterprise (i.e. enterprise in the creative industries) can be understood as an enterprise that relies principally on the creativity of individuals engaged in it. Thus, creativity can be said to define the entire pursuit of creative enterprises. This paper highlights the motivational aspect of creativity in the notion of ‘creative vision’ based on interviews with founders of creative enterprises in three different regions in Indonesia (Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Bali), encompassing three creative sectors (cuisine, craft, and fashion). Three forms of creative vision have been discovered (collective self-actualization, collective altruism, and co-creation), with each form predominantly signifying each region sampled. Through a collaborative effort of sensemaking in the research team, the current preliminary study contributes to discourses about the nature of creativity or what it entails; it is derived not from the conscious understanding of what creativity is or means by experts and the likes, but from the actual vision of practitioners of creativity from the field where creativity is the soul. Creativity manifestations in Lithuanian recreational sports: a case of the subculture of runners
The paper analyzes manifestations of creativity in Lithuanian recreational runners’ leisure subculture in the latter 21st century’s decades. In this research, qualitative research methods: ethnography (observation, participant observation, visual data collection, research diaries), approach of socio-cultural anthropology have been employed. Empirical data, collected since mid-2015 up to the summer of 2023. Results demonstrate that contemporary recreational runners’ identities represent aesthetic visual and verbal (self)expression, creative strategies towards running-related practices, values of solitude, and community in parallel
Variability of Equivalent Water Height (EWH) in Indonesia during 14 years of grace gravity satellite mission
GRACE Satellite (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) is a gravity monitoring satellite, that is very sensitive to mass changes, especially the signals that produce by redistribution of water masses. Data from this satellite can be used to observe water distribution in the form of spherical harmonic coefficients. Water mass variations are presented as Equivalent Water Height (EWH). The results of GRACE processing showed that the largest EWH was 27.298 cm in January 2015 and the smallest EWH was 29.816 cm in June 2004 in Sumatera Island. The positive trend occurred in Sumatra island and the negative trend occurred in eastern Indonesia. Generally, the trend of Indonesian rainfall throughout 2002 to 2016 was constant. However, there was a change in seasonal patterns in 2014. This research also use Mascon data from GRACE satellite to determine the radius of the gaussian filter and TRMM satellite’s data to observe rainfall data to be compared with the EWH variability from GRACE
The methodology of straightening the land plot boundary in the course of land consolidation
The issue of land plot boundary straightening in the course of land consolidation has been examined in the study. Over the course of buying out and swapping, adjacent land plots are being incorporated into one land tenure. However, the land plots are inconvenient for cultivation due to broken boundaries. Measures on the boundary straightening comply with the demands of landowners at voluntary land consolidation, when they are interested in the least possible alteration of the boundaries of the existing land plots. The study aims at the substantiation of the methodology for the straightening of land plot boundary with the help of the peer exchange of their parts. Preconditions for the formation of broken boundaries in the course of land consolidation have been scrutinized. Algorithms for land plot boundary straightening with the help of the exchange of the parts of peer land plots have been suggested. The calculation of typical cases of broken boundary straightening has been suggested. The boundary straightening methodology has been tested in a land mass in Kyiv Region, Ukraine. The results of the research can be used in the course of voluntary land consolidation, at the developing of preliminary land reallotment plan for agricultural and built-up land
Bathymetric analysis using multifrequency multibeam echosounder
Making a nautical chart for safe navigation is a bathymetric survey’s primary goal. Multifrequency MBES have been developed over the last few decades, and their introduction has dramatically improved the efficiency, accuracy, and spatial resolution of coastal and ocean mapping. The goal of multifrequency MBES is to increase the subsurface’s detection resolution. To obtain an accurate picture of the seabed, the user can lessen the impact of this subsidence by running surveys in three different modes at once. With the help of multifrequency MBES, this study will analyze bathymetry in shallow coastal waters. The digital bathymetric model’s (DBM) frequencies are remarkably close. The depth value of the study site ranges from –20 m to–70 m with reference to lowest water surface (LWS) based on the produced DBM. Generally, the difference between 100 kHz, 200 kHz, and 400 kHz is as small as 0–30 cm, and a small part is 30–60 cm. The volume between frequencies for an area of 1 ha is between 90 m3 to 440 m3. If the thickness of the dredged sediment is 1 m, then the difference in volume between frequencies is less than 5%. The bathymetry difference between 100 kHz and 400 kHz frequencies to –10 cm is dominated by the region of 0 cm. Dredging volume inter frequency ranges from 0.042 m3/m2 to 0.068 m3/m2
The effects of transaction hotspots and flipping hotspots on housing prices
In contrast to much of the literature that focuses on the issue of spatial dependence in housing price research, this study addresses the spatial aggregation of housing transactions and analyzes the effects of transaction hotspots and short-term flipping hotspots on housing prices by using real housing transaction data in Taipei City, Taiwan. The empirical results show that after controlling for the effects of spatial dependence and individual housing attributes, the impact of transaction hotspot areas on housing prices is significantly negative, while the impact of flipping hotspot areas on housing prices is significantly positive. The results verify that the key to driving up housing prices lies in flipping activities. Furthermore, the results of the spatial quantile regression model show that low-priced residential properties are more sensitive to the spatial concentration of housing transactions and flipping transactions in the housing market. Our results have implications for the government’s policy intending to control hot trade volumes to cool skyrocketing housing prices in a booming housing market. It is suggested that the government should pay attention to restraining short-term flipping activities in the housing market rather than setting constrains on housing transactions
The impact of the digital economy on urban house prices: Comprehensive explorations
Internet technology and data-driven innovations are changing the way people live and work, which could have an impact on real estate supply and demand. Therefore, this study focuses on the relationship between urban digital economy growth and urban house prices. First, the empirical model shows that the digital economy has an inverted U-shaped impact on urban housing prices. The mechanisms underlying this relationship were then examined. The results indicated that fixed asset investment, government expenditure, and the urban environment influence the relationship between digital economy growth and urban house prices. Finally, a heterogeneity analysis revealed that the digital economy does not affect house prices in Tier 1, New Tier 1, and Tier 2 Chinese cities, but increases house prices in Tier 3 cities. In Tier 4 and Tier 5 cities, this relationship was found to be inverted U-shaped. These findings offer valuable insights to policymakers in China in balancing the growth of the digital economy and the stability of house prices
Spatial heterogeneity and interaction effect of urban blue and green spaces on housing prices
Rapid urbanization presents policymakers and planners with the challenge of balancing public open spaces design with the conservation and improvement of natural resources. A comprehensive understanding of the land economic value of urban blue-green spaces (UBGS) holds immense significance for urban sustainable development, urban spatial justice and the promotion of human well-being. In this study, the MGWR model is employed to discuss the heterogeneous effects of UBGS on housing prices in Hangzhou. Additionally, the interaction effect between blue space and green space was examined at the district level, and the specific locations and spatial patterns were identified. The results show that (1) different types, features and accessibility of UBGS have different degrees and spatial scale of effect on housing prices, and will be affected by other attributes of UBGS; (2) in 30.92% of the main urban area of Hangzhou, the effect of blue spaces and green spaces on housing prices exhibits an interactive effect. The spatial patterns are divided into blue-green positive synergistic, antagonistic and negative synergistic regions; (3) green space has positive and negative effects on housing prices, while blue space has positive effects on housing prices at the regional level. The existence of water bodies can promote the positive effect of green spaces on housing prices or alleviate the negative effect. The results indicate that planners must transcend the singular focus on blue or green space planning and instead consider both in an integrated manner. This outcome can provide valuable references for UBGS planning
Clinoptilolite- and glauconite-based sorbents for lead removal from natural waters
The aim of the research is to determine the effect of heat treatment and microwave irradiation on the sorption properties of a natural clinoptilolite and glauconite to Pb2+ ions. To improve the sorption capacity the samples were heat treated at 550 °C for 3 hours or microwaved at 790 W for 30 minutes. The XRD and XRF analysis present the content of investigated samples and prove the increase in the sorption capacity after treatment. After contact with Pb, its content in the natural clinoptilolite increased to 2.66%, and in the thermally treated – to 6.035%. The PbO content in natural glauconite increased to 3.9%, but after microwaving it reached 5.2% of the total sample weight. Heat treatment is useful for improving the sorption capacity of clinoptilolite, and microwave irradiation can significantly increase the adsorption capacity of glauconite
The seasonal change of water quality parameters and ecological condition of some surface water bodies in the Nemunas River basin
The surface water quality analysis is very important in order to identify potential sources of contamination. The pollution of surface water can occur because of unauthorized discharge of a variety of materials or pollutants, and cultivated fields from which migratory pollutants are carried into the water bodies by melting snow. The current paper presents the results of quality indicators’ analysis (oxygen saturation (dissolved oxygen) (mg O2/l); an active water reaction, pH; suspended solids (mg/l); biochemical oxygen demand BOD7 (mg O2/l); phosphate (mgP/l); nitrite (mgN/l); nitrate (mgN/l); ammonium (mgN/l); total phosphorus (mgP/l); total nitrogen (mgN/l); colour (mg/l Pt)) of some surface water bodies (the Dubysa, Reizgupis, Vilkupis, Kriokle Rivers and Prabaudos pond) in the Nemunas River basin. The research demonstrated that the majority of non-compliances and exceedances with values and the maximum allowable concentrations stated in the hygiene norms can be found in the Reizgupis River. According to the analyzed surface water quality indicators, the ecological conditions of the surface water bodies were determined
