How does city group risk-taking affect climate-friendly technology innovation in cities? Evidence from China
Climate-friendly technology innovation, which always comes with risk, is becoming an essential tool for Chinese cities to cope with climate change. As a macro variable, how does city group risk-taking affect climate-friendly innovation in cities? This study conducts a qualitative analysis on the basis of the theory of planned behaviour. Then, Chinese city data from 2008 to 2020 are employed to study the impact of city group risk-taking on climate-friendly technology innovation with city and year two-way fixed effects models. The results show: first, city group risk-taking promotes climate-friendly technology innovation in cities; for every one standard deviation increase in the level of city group risk-taking, the level of climate-friendly technology innovation in cities increases by 0.1294 standard deviations. Second, city group risk-taking improves a city’s market vitality and promotes the city’s governmental technology investments, both of which are conducive to climate-friendly technology innovation in cities. Third, the role of city group risk-taking in promoting climate-friendly technological innovation in cities is heterogeneous and is greater in cities with high enthusiasm for financial technology innovation, in cities with high population density and in cities with high environmental penalties.

The impact of digital economy on regional green and high-quality economic development in China
With the rapid advancement of digitization, the duty of the digital economic climate in advertising regional economic growth is ending up being progressively noticeable. Nonetheless, there is relatively little research study on how the digital economic situation specifically impacts regional environment-friendly and high-quality financial growth (RGED). This study utilizes provincial panel data from 2013 to 2020 in China to empirically assess the effect of the digital economic environment and validates its effect with a fixed impacts model. The study has produced four unique and important findings for: firstly, the effect of the digital economic climate on RGED exhibits nonlinear qualities; Second of all, RGED is significantly influenced by the “∩ - formed” effect of the advancement of the digital economic situation and the degree of industrial digitization; Finally, the influence of digital framework and digital industrialization on RGED exhibits a considerable “U-shaped” pattern; Fourth, the digital economic situation indirectly advertises the growth of RGED by enhancing human funding and updating commercial structure. These conclusions offer beneficial plan support for relevant financial entities to achieve RGED.

Solutions of the attraction-repulsion-chemotaxis system with nonlinear diffusion
In this study, we consider the well-posedness of the attraction-repulsion chemotaxis system. This paper explores the dynamics of species movement in reaction to two chemically opposing substances, incorporating nonlinear diffusion. Our primary objective is to establish the existence of a global-in-time weak solution for the proposed model in an unbounded three-dimensional spatial domain. Our study has confirmed the existence of a global-in-time weak solution for the proposed system in three dimensions. Furthermore, we demonstrate that global-in-time weak solutions are also attainable for the proposed system in a bounded domain with a smooth boundary
Terminal value problem for the system of fractional differential equations with additional restrictions
This paper deals with the study of terminal value problem for the system of fractional differential equations with Caputo derivative. Additional conditions are imposed on the solutions of this problem in the form of a linear vector functional. Using the theory of pseudo-inverse matrices, we obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability and the general form of the solution of this boundary-value problem. In the one-dimensional case, the obtained results are generalized to the case of a multi-point boundary-value problem. The issue of obtaining similar results for the terminal value problem for the system of fractional differential equations with tempered and Ψ–tempered fractional derivatives of Caputo type is considered
A boundary value problem with an integral condition for a certain fractional differential equation
The aim of this work is to prove the existence and the uniqueness of the solution of one dimensional initial boundary value problem for a parabolic equation with a Caputo time fractional differential operator supplemented by periodic nonlocal boundary condition and integral condition. First, an a priori estimate is established for the associated problem. Secondly, the density of the operator range generated by the considered problem is proved by using the functional analysis method
Development drivers for urban regeneration and livability in worn-out neighborhoods
Development driver projects are recognized as tools for revitalizing and regenerating worn-out urban fabrics. Recent studies emphasize the importance of development driver projects for regeneration across three scales: macro, medium, and micro. However, research has lacked an examination of the impact of indicators at all three scales. To fill this research gap, the present study investigates the effect of development driver indicators on the regeneration of the worn-out fabric of Semnan, one of Iran’s historic and significant cities. This research initially identifies 16 indicators across the three scales. Data were collected from 385 residents and analyzed using the Phi coefficient and structural equation modeling. The results of the Phi test indicated that development projects could act as “nuclei for urban transformation of the worn-out fabric of Semnan”. Furthermore, the structural equation modeling analysis revealed that development driver indicators at the macro scale, such as parks (0.71) and landscape design (0.66), have a significant impact on regeneration. This study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive approach to regeneration and suggests that active stakeholder participation in various stages of regeneration is essential. The findings of this study can serve as guidance for policymakers and urban planners in Iran and other countries
Estimating spatiotemporal heterogeneous effects of haze pollution on housing rents in China
Severe haze pollution significantly affects urban life quality and employment location choices, which in turn impact rental housing demand and housing rents. While numerous studies have delved into the effects of haze pollution on the real estate market, with a particular focus on housing prices, there is a notable scarcity of research on its impact within China’s rental housing market. This study employs spatial panel data encompassing 289 Chinese cities from 2015 to 2021 and applies a Geographically and temporally weighted regression (GTWR) model to investigate the spatiotemporal heterogeneous effects of haze pollution on housing rents in urban China. Our results indicate that the GTWR model’s goodness-of-fit surpasses that of the OLS, GWR, and TWR models. The results of the GTWR model reveal that haze pollution has a negative effect on housing rents in China, with the eastern region experiencing a notably stronger negative impact than the western region. Moreover, this negative impact becomes increasingly stronger over time. In addition, population, economic, and social factors significantly impact housing rents in Chinese cities. These findings offer valuable insights into the relationship between haze pollution and housing rents, assisting policymakers in assessing the economic value of air pollution control in urban China
Unveiling the buffering role of prior ties in relationship conflict management in the construction industry
Relationship conflict is commonplace during the cooperation period between the general contractor and subcontractor. However, how to prevent the adverse effect arising from relationship conflict on the final project outcome is scarce, especially in empirical studies. Drawing on the conservation of resources (COR) theory, a theoretical model revealing the underlying deteriorating mechanism (relational behavior) and corresponding prevention strategies (prior ties) is developed. Based on 174 questionnaires collected from the Chinese construction industry, the model and proposed hypotheses are empirically examined. The results suggest that relationship conflict between the general contractor and subcontractor harms cooperation performance, and relational behavior mediates this relationship. If the general contractor and subcontractor have a prior cooperative relationship, the devasting impact of relationship conflict can be undermined. These findings deepen the understanding of the underlying mechanism by which relationship conflict impairs the final cooperation performance and afford insights into relationship conflict management from a pre-prevention perspective
A relative measurement and monitoring of OTTV of glass facade passive building in tropical climate
Efficient and productive buildings are vital to sustainable cities, significantly contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 7, 11, and 12. Urban areas are responsible for 80% of global energy consumption, with buildings accounting for 40%. Achieving a healthy and comfortable indoor thermal envelope depends on various factors including building function, location, layout design, openings, and materials. The building facade, particularly glass facades, is a significant contributor to both energy performance and occupant comfort. Despite their importance, few studies focus on real-time measurement and monitoring of the Overall Thermal Transfer Value (OTTV) of passive buildings, especially with glass facades. Glass allows natural light and heat exchange, impacting the overall energy performance and quality of indoor environments. This study investigates the real-time impact of temperature variations on the OTTV of glass facade passive buildings from 8 am to 5 pm, focusing on Malaysia’s tropical climate. The study’s findings revealed that the OTTV varies from 42.642 W/m2 at 11:30 am to 80.341 W/m2 at 10:30 am. The study contributes to the body of knowledge by providing valuable insights regarding the dynamic thermal behaviour of the passive building envelope. Specifically, it demonstrates how OTTV varies with changing climatic conditions such as temperature fluctuations and solar radiation
Strategic modeling of enterprise business processes for successful digital transformation
Purpose – the purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for modelling business processes based on the principles of process management and the use of modern information technology in order to improve the efficiency and quality of the enterprise.
Research methodology – in this work we applied the methodology of business process analysis and optimisation based on the decomposition principle proposed by the SADT methodology. Findings – the result of the study was the development of practical recommendations for enterprises seeking to improve the efficiency of their activities and adapt to rapidly changing market conditions. The proposed methodology of business process modeling allows organi- zations not only to standardize and optimize their processes, but also to respond flexibly to changes in the external environment and maintain competitiveness.
Research limitations – The study focuses primarily on SADT and IDEF0 methodologies, which may limit consideration of other potentially effective approaches to business process mode- ling. Future research may include a comparative analysis of different business process modeling methodologies to determine their relative effectiveness and applicability in different contexts.
Practical implications – overall, this study makes a significant contribution to the development of modern business process modeling methodology, providing practical tools and recommendations for organizations seeking to improve their performance and sustainability in a rapidly changing business environment.
Originality/Value – the novelty of this study lies in the development of an integrated methodology of business process modeling based on the principles of process management and modern information technologies. In contrast to earlier studies emphasizing individual aspects of process management or specific technologies, our study offers an integrated approach combining both managerial and technological elements
