    Identification of Malaria Parasites in Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital Ternate East Nusa Tenggara

    Background: Malaria is still a global health problem especially in tropical countries, such as Indonesia. Based on survey 35% of the Indonesia population were live in endemic areas of malaria, such as Provinces of Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, North Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara. Malaria is caused by a mosquito bite of female Anopheles sp. containing Plasmodium parasite. Generally it bites humans at night or dawn. Such malaria parasites are Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malariae, and Plasmodium ovale. Malaria is a disease of both highest in Ternate and mostly occur in general hospitals of Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital. This research aims to identify the type of malaria parasites in the Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital Ternate. Method: This is a descriptive research conducted in Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital in Ternate, East Nusa Tenggara in March 2015. Research data obtained include: age, sex, education, and employment. Identification of malaria is carried out based on an examination of the existence of Plasmodium in preparation of thin and thick blood apus. Descriptive analysis using STATA programs for Windows version 12.0 (Stata Corp LP., College Station, TX, USA) are presented in the form of tables and narratives. Result: This research subjects were 69 people suspected with malaria infection. Suspected malaria to be infected by Plasmodium is more are young age group 94%, 88% were males, 100% have a poor education or un-educated, as well as the of 100% were fishermen. As much as 54 people (78%) were infected by Plasmodium parasites consisting of Plasmodium falcifarum 48 people (89%) and Plasmodium vivax 6 people (11%). Conclusion: The incidence of malaria infections in Chasan Boesoirie General Hospital amounted to 78% and the type of infected parasites were Plasmodium falcifarum and Plasmodium vivax

    Latar Belakang: Angka aborsi di Indonesia diperkirakan mencapai 2,3 juta per tahun, sekitar 750.000 diantaranya dilakukan oleh remaja. Dari hasil penelitian pada remaja pada sepuluh SMA di Surakarta tahun 2005 ditemukan bahwa 30% laki-laki yang berpacaran telah melakukan hubungan seksual, sedangkan untuk perempuan sebanyak 5 %. Kurangnya pemahaman tentang perilaku seksual pada masa remaja adalah salah satu penyebabnya. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan tentang kesehatan reproduksi dengan perilaku seks bebas di SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian menggunakan desain observational analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 177 siswa. Analisa data menggunakan uji statistik korelasi Kendall Tau (Ï„). Hasil Penelitian: 125 siswa (70.6%) memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang kesehatan reproduksi dan 52 siswa (75,0%) memiliki perilaku yang baik dalam pergaulan seks bebas. Dari hasil analisa data dengan Kendall Tau diperoleh zhitung (9,96) > ztabel (1,96). Simpulan: ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan remaja tentang kesehatan reproduksi dengan perilaku seks bebas

    Hubungan Pemberian Reward dengan Motivasi Kerja Perawat di Ruang Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit JIH Yogyakarta

    Background: The award is very important to increase the productive activity, it is expected the award given to an individual can improve employee motivation for work valued thus improving the performance of employees and to motivate the work of nurses. Objective: To determine the relationship of reward and motivation of nurses in the inpatient hospital JIH Yogyakarta. Method: Types of non-experimental research design with descriptive analytic and quantitative methods, and using cross sectional approach. Sampling technique used is total sampling (87 nurses). The instruments used were questionnaires about reward and motivation. This research was conducted in inpatient hospital JIH Yogyakarta from January to February 2015. Result: Spearman's test results show that the significance value of 0.447 (> 0.05) showed that no significant relationship between the two variables at a very low level of closeness (r -0.083). Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between reward and motivation of nurses in patient wards of hospitals JIH Yogyakarta in 2015

    Risk Factors of Hypercholesterolemia on Obese Pre-elderly Population in Rejosari Sub-village Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta

    Background: Obesity is one of the most epidemiological burden which is being a dangerous threat for global health. It also contributes for leading cause of hypercholesterolemia. Prevalence of stroke, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, and hypertension in Indonesia has reached out 23.7% in 2007. Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district locate in coastal area which is fisher taking mostly part of the citizen's occupation. Hence they have tendency to intake sea products such as shrimps, squids, crabs, anchovies, and  bivalves that contain amino acid required to growth and cell recovery nevertheless it also has much cholesterol contained which cause of total cholesterol level rising. The aims of this study to determine risk factors of hypercholesterolemia on obese pre-eldery population in Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district, Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta. Method: This was an analytic observational study with cross sectional that conducted on February 2015 on obese pre-eldery population in Rejosari sub-village, Kemadang village, Tanjungsari sub-district, Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta. Data collected such age, sex, blood pressure, seafood intake frequencies, and total cholesterol. Data were analyzed by STATA version 12 software for windows with spearman correlation statistical test. Result: This study findings that 30 pre-elderly people came as respondents. Data  performed the average value of age was 49 years old, systolic blood pressure was 142 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure was 87 mmHg, seafood intake frequencies was 3 times per week, and total cholesterol level was 241 mg/dl. Spearman correlation shown age (p value=0.0477), systolic blood pressure (p value=0.0012), diasolic blood pressure (p value= 0.0435) and seafood intake frequencies (p value= 0.0018) have stattistical correlation with hypercholesterolemia. Conclusion:Age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and seafood intake frequencies are correlated with total cholesterol raising within blood

    The Effect of Distraction Therapy (Pray) to The Surgical Pain Intensity Among Post-spinal Anesthesia Patients at Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja Hospital's Recovery Room, Bulukumba Regency of South Sulawesi

    Background: The needs of pain free after surgery occurs when analgesic medicine effect is run out. Thus, nursing care with distraction therapy can lead to the reduce of such pain sensation (Prasetyo, 2010). One of independent nursing interventions to relieve patients’ pain is to measure pain scale and then to give further intervention, either relaxation or distraction. Objectives: To identify the effect of distraction therapy, which is pray, to the surgical pain intensity of post-spinal anesthesia patients at Sulthan Daeng Radja hospital’s recovery room, Bulukumba regency of South Sulawesi Methods: A quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design was used in this research. The samples group was measured with pretest before being given an intervention and it was being re-measured after the intervention (posttest). Samples were chosen through non-random sampling, which is purposive sampling. Thirty eight samples were involved and being given such distraction therapy throughout the period of August 26th to October 19th 2013. Results: There was a significant result shown by using McNemar-analysis (p value =0.00). This reveals that there were decline in pain intensity after such distraction therapy among such patients. Conclusions: Distraction therapy (praying) reduces surgical pain intensity after spinal anesthesia. Therefore it can be used as an independent nursing intervention among patients hospitalized with pain problems.&nbsp

    The Correlation Between Social Support and Emotional Distress on Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Panembahan Senopati General Hospital Bantul

    Background: Diabetes mellitus in Bantul occupies the second position after hypertension with 10.32% prevalence among non-contagious diseases. Social support is important for diabetes mellitus patients because it influences their behavior towards reaching the desirable health status. The data obtained from 30 patients show that 15 patients received social support because no family members were there to accompany them, 5 patients suffered an emotional distress because they were anxious about their disease, and 10 patients did not have either social support problems or emotional distress. Objectives: To determine the correlation between social support and emotional distress on diabetes mellitus patients at Panembahan Senopati Hospital Bantul. Research Method: This is a correlational non experimental research which uses a cross-sectional design. The sample collection used a purposive sampling technique. The analyses technique using Kendall’s tau Results: The descriptive analysis shows that 3 respondents received low social support (10.7%), 15 respondents received medium social support (53.6%), and 10 respondents received high social support (35.7%), 8 respondents experienced low emotional distress (28.6%), and 20 respondents experienced medium emotional distress (71.4%). Conclusion: The results of Kendall’s tau correlation coefficient test show that there is a significant correlation between social support and emotional distress on diabetes mellitus patients with a p value = 0.000 and a correlation coefficient = 0.788

    Background : A food additive used to obtain food products that taste delicious, attractive, durable, easy in its distribution. Food additives that are often used in society is dye. Many fraud by producers to attract consumers such as the use of non-food grade dyes or food grade with doses exceeding the rules. Rhodamine B is a dangerous synthetic dyes are often added to foods as a dye. Kue Ku is made from a mixture of potatoes, coconut milk, glutinous rice flour, salt, sugar and red dye. The red color on my cake due to the addition of the dye rhodamine B. The use of rhodamine B can cause negative impacts on the health of consumers, thus attracting researchers to examine the presence of rhodamine B dye on my cake circulating in traditional markets Sleman, Yogyakarta. Method : The method is a descriptive study with the aim to describe or illustrate the existence of rhodamine B on kue Ku  samples circulating in traditional markets Sleman, Yogyakarta. The method used for laboratory test is by thin-layer chromatography. Results : In this study showed 15,38% of Kue Ku samples have been investigated positive for rhodamine B. Conclusion : There dye rhodamine B on Kue Ku circulating in traditional markets Sleman, Yogyakarta

    Helminth Infection of Children in Ngemplak Seneng Village Klaten

    Helminth infection remains one of health problems of Indonesian people for years. The tropical condition of Indonesian climates with high level humidity has believed to be the one of factors that increase the number of this infection cases. Based of many studies, the number of helminth infections is related to the poor of hygiene and sanitation. This study is conducted to know the percentages of helminth infections among 0-14 years old children in Dusun Ngemplak, Desa Ngemplak Seneng, Klaten and also their personal hygiene with questionaire instruments. To know helminth infection in subjects, we examine faeces sample with simple method and 1% eosin dye. As the results of examination, we found Trichuris trichiura egg in three samples. This might related to the poor of their hygienic behaviors. Some of the behavior such as wash hand before eating and after defecation, use sandal or shoes when playing, consume helminthic drug for last 6 months, and defecate in toilet has shown percentage under 70%. Other behaviors such as cutting and cleaning nails and use a spoon when eating has shown percentage above 70%

    Background: Anxiety, panic, inability to accept the conditions and low knowledge about good sexual behaviour can worsen HIV status. Purpose: assess changes in sexual behavior before, the time of diagnosis, and current and causes. Methode: Qualitative research phenomenological, semi-structured interviews with in dept interviews in 6 Participants women of reproductive age, diagnosed with HIV between 1-2 years before study, has been or ever married. Analysis using Collaizy. Result: before diagnosis frequency: rarely and still routine, sexual behavior: oral, anal and masturbated to couples, sexual desire did not a decline. Causal factor that changes sexual behavior is a condition of pain, impaired self-image, increasing socio-economic burden, and change partners. Dicussion: Hankins (1997) the majority of women after hear of HIV positive status will experience a significant disruption to the desire, arousal and orgasm function, is due to physiological and psychological factors. Recurrent pain during sexual intercourse can lead to avoidance. Psychosocial factors (stress, financial crisis, depression, anxiety) inhibit the production of liquid lubrication. The sampling technique used was purposive sample of the number of samples in this study were 134 respondents. Results : There was a relationship adherence Fe tablets with maternal anemia status in Puskesmas Grabag II Magelang regency with p value of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05) and the relationship is strong enough that the value of the Contingency Coefficient 0.556
