The study of archaeological remains from Late Antiquity in the Iberian Peninsula has developedsignificantly in recent years. However, interest has been directed primarily towards material culture, while biotic remains have been a secondary research topic. The present article analyses the faunalremains obtained in the excavations carried out in 2001 at the site of San Pelayo (Salamanca), asettlement interpreted as a Roman villa. The material found has been dated to the transition fromthe fourth to the fifth century, a period when the site had already lost its function as an aristocraticresidence. The faunal remains have been analysed from the anatomical, taxonomic, osteometric andtaphonomic perspectives in order to obtain information on the economy of the settlement. The analysisreveals that meat consumption came mainly from a livestock herd made up of sheep and goatsand, to a lesser extent, cattle and suidae. Other animal resources were acquired from wild mammals(red deer and rabbits), although hunting can be considered a secondary activity in San Pelayo. Thediet also included resources from areas near the site, such as birds, fish and molluscs. Finally, we havedocumented the use of animal bone and antler for the production of a bone industry; determiningthe operational processes involved in the transformation of these raw materials into objects

Introduction. Intergenerational trauma, resulting from assimilationist practices aimed at eradicating Aboriginal cultures, is a reality that Canadian Indigenous communities continue to confront since the arrival of settlers. After centuries of silence imposed by the oppressive colonial system, Indigenous voices are emerging to highlight this historically ignored and marginalized reality. Among these voices is Katherena Vermette, who wrote The Break trying to portray the reality of intergenerational trauma in Indigenous communities. Methodology. Using a qualitative methodology, this study will examine the specificity of intergenerational trauma management strategies and its nature by focusing on three narrators: Rain, Kokoom, and Cheryl. Results. The analysis will reveal ineffective strategies employed by the narrators, such as drug and alcohol addiction, and show how they manage to leave behind these ineffective strategies, finding effective methods that guide their path to healing. Discussion. This study will highlight the individuality and harshness of the trauma, demonstrating the importance of community for Indigenous women. Conclusions. Resilience and the inner strength in Indigenous women’s communities are key elements for effectively facing and confronting their trauma, allowing them to begin their journey towards healing

Validation of the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) in a Representative Sample of Adolescents: Links with Well-being, Mental Health, and Suicidal Behavior

Objective: Social support is understood as a protective factor for mental health and emotional well-being, especially at school. The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) is one of the most widely used tools worldwide to assess this construct. The main purpose of the present study was to validate the scores of the MSPSS in a large sample of non-clinical adolescents. Method: The sample consisted of 2,235 compulsory secondary education students in Spain (Mage = 14.49, SDage = 1.76, age range 12-18 years, 52% female) obtained by stratified random sampling. Results: The model, consisting of three interrelated factors, showed the most adequate goodness-of-fit indices. The results support the measurement invariance of the MSPSS across sex, age, and sexual orientation. McDonald’s omega reliability indices between .862-.934 were obtained. MSPSS scores were significantly and negatively associated with emotional and behavioral problems, depression, and suicidal behavior, and positively associated with life satisfaction. Conclusions: The MSPSS is a reliable instrument to assess social support through self-report in school settings. In this regard, assessing social support using this tool is particularly useful in programs promoting well-being or preventing mental health disorders

Miguel Villanuevaren irudia erabakigarria da Espainiako historiaren garai honetan, Espainiako XIX. mendeko sistema parlamentarioaren defendatzaile bakanetako bat izan baitzen, eta jendaurrean agertu baitzen, inolako zalantzarik gabe, erregimen presidentzialistaren eta Asanblea Nazionalaren modaren aurka. Antzinako politikari dinastikoek erregimenari aurka egiteko egindako egintza zibil eta publiko nagusiak jasotzen ditu artikuluak. The main aim of this article is to analyse the role played by the liberal politician Miguel Villanueva y Gómez (1852-1931) in the opposition to Primo de Rivera's dictatorship. Taking into account the context and the anti-democratic rhetoric of the time, we will examine the former minister's statements through the press and other primary sources. The year 1925, in which the Al Hoceima disembarkation took place and the Dictatorship began to be institutionalised, was to be fundamental for the politician and also for his constitutionalist colleagues. The figure of Miguel Villanueva in this stage of Spanish history is crucial, as he was one of the few defenders of the nineteenth-century Spanish parliamentary system and publicly and unambiguously spoke out against the fashion for the presidentialist regime and the National Assembly. The article lists the main acts of civil and public opposition to the regime by the former dynastic politicians
