EFFECT OF ORGANIC MULCHES AND LIVING MULCHES ON WEED INFESTATION AND YIELD OF MAIZE (ZEA MAYS L.) DURING WET SEASON
Mulching provides several benefits to the agro-ecosystem and plays an important role in integrated weed management system. To study the effect of organic mulches and living mulches on weed infestation and yield of maize, the experiments were conducted at the field of Department of Agronomy, Yezin Agricultural University (YAU) and Tatkon Agricultural Research Farm, Department of Agricultural Research (DAR) in Myanmar during wet season, 2023. In both locations, there were six treatments: control (no mulch) (T1), maize stover mulch (T2) and rice straw mulch) (T3) as organic mulches (8 ton ha-1), cowpea mulch (T4), green gram mulch (T5) and lablab bean mulch (T6) with the seed rate of each 10 kg ha-1 as living mulches by using Randomized complete block (RCB) design with three replications. In Yezin, the results showed that the lowest weed infestation was found in T3 followed by T2 among all treatments at all sampling times Among the selected living mulches treatments, the minimum weed infestation was observed in T4. The highest weed infestation was found in control (T1) in both study areas. In Tatkon, weed density was also significantly reduced by T3 and T2 at 15 days after sowing (DAS). After that, at 35 DAS, 55 DAS and 75 DAS, the better weed control efficiency was found in rice straw mulch (T3) followed by cowpea mulch (T4) and lablab bean mulch (T6). The minimum weed infestation was found in T3 followed by T4 and T6. However, the highest maize grain yield was observed in T4 in both study areas. Therefore, the cowpea mulch (T4) is suitable to control weed infestation and to optimize maize grain yield for sustainable maize cultivation of the study areas. Living mulch or organic mulch should be used in maize cultivation rather than without using mulch (control). Organic mulches should be used in places where living mulches are not suitable
An Explorative Study on the Compensation Scenario among the Victims of Scheduled Tribes
In India, compensation for victims of various crimes is governed by a range of legal provisions and government schemes aimed at providing support and redressal to them. These compensation mechanisms vary depending on the type of crime, with specific schemes tailored for victims of crime, such as sexual assault, human trafficking, murder, rape and atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes etc. The compensation helps victims in transforming their lives while it also provides financial assistance, rehabilitation, and support services to the victims. The study's main aim is to identify the challenges and barriers faced by Scheduled Tribes in accessing and receiving compensation for crime victimization. A total 376 number of cases were registered during the year 2020 to 2022 in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh; 304 number of victims were interviewed for the study, and a total of 220 victims were received compensation. The census method was adopted for this research to cover the whole data for the in-depth study. The study found that out of the total respondents, 65 percent of the victims were received compensation amounts of up to 1,00,000 Rs, with the majority of these cases classified as simple hurt. While, 40 percent of the victims was received compensation within one year of the commission of crime. In addition, 60.7 percent of victims haven’t received compensation because of a lack of documents. The study will contribute valuable insights into the fields of criminology, victimology, social justice, and indigenous rights; providing a foundation for policy recommendations which aimed at addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by Scheduled Tribes in the context of victim compensation.

The samples selected from the NIFTY-IT index based on market capitalization are Infosys Ltd., Tech-Mahindra Ltd. and Wipro Ltd. The objectives of this research are to study the price movement of the shares of selected companies and use RSI indicator to know the momentum of price change and advice the investors in taking investing decisions
PUBLIC SECONDARY EDUCATION IN RURAL AREAS IN HAITI - DOMINANCE AND ABUSE OF POWER THROUGH THE LENS OF POLARITIES OF DEMOCRACY THEORY
Public secondary schools are scarcely available to children in rural Haiti who want to continue their education beyond primary school. While some remote communities may offer private schools, poor families simply cannot afford to send their children to private schools or even move to a city where they have options to attend public secondary schools. The research examined the perspectives of well-informed Haitian educators and other educators who were familiar with the issue of limited access to public secondary education in rural areas of Haiti. The research further determined that the problem can't be solved unless we look at how the country's educational system was affected by Dominance and Abuse of Power by the Elites and other oppressive factors. 20 educators in Haiti and the United States participated in semi-structured interviews to compile data that were analyzed through the prism of Benet's Polarities of democracy theory. The findings indicated that Education for rural residents is undervalued by the government. Political and personal agendas are given more priority. Closing the gap between urban and country life is critical. More public secondary schools for rural areas need to be established, which will need a paradigm shift in the education system of the country
