The use of antipsychotics in the treatment of catatonia: a systematic review
International audienceBackground Catatonia in psychotic patients presents unique challenges. While antipsychotics are the cornerstone of schizophrenia treatment, their use in catatonic patients is sometimes discouraged for fear of worsening the signs. Reports on the successful use of second-generation antipsychotics have been published. We conducted a systematic review according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines to describe the outcomes of antipsychotic-treated catatonic events. Methods We searched Medline and Web of Science databases from 2000 to 2023 using search terms including “catatonia” and “antipsychotic agents” for all original peer-reviewed articles, including clinical trials, observational studies, and case-reports. We included antipsychotic-treated catatonic events and extracted data on patient characteristics, pharmacological context, agent involved, and treatment outcomes for each antipsychotic trial. Results After screening 6,219 records, 79 full-text articles were included. Among them, we identified 175 antipsychotic trials (in 110 patients). Only 41.1% of the patients benefited from a previous benzodiazepine trial. Antipsychotic use was considered beneficial in 60.0% of the trials, neutral in 29.1%, and harmful in 10.9%. Trials tended to be reported as beneficial for amisulpride, clozapine, and risperidone, equivocal for aripiprazole and olanzapine, and mostly detrimental for haloperidol and quetiapine. Psychotic disorders were the most common underlying etiology (65.8%). Conclusions Antipsychotics could be an option in the treatment of catatonia in psychotic patients. However, with few exceptions, we found non-beneficial outcomes with all second-generation antipsychotics in varying proportions in this largest review to date. Although olanzapine is widely used, it is associated with mitigated reported outcomes

The epistolary correspondences of the Italian writer Francesca Roberti Franco demonstrates, as early as the eighteenth century, the awareness of the oblivion to which women of letters have been confronted since the sixteenth century. In a 1780 letter addressed to Saverio Bettinelli, the writer protests against the absence of women's literary representations in Risorgimento d’Italia, outraged that one could have “neglected the fair sex” in this manner. She responds to this “sinful omission” with irony and provocation by attempting to rehabilitate major female figures. This observation, however, gives rise to a deeper desire in Francesca Roberti Franco : to compile “a list of Women worthy of being placed above many of your learned peers,” to become a “compiler” to combat the outrageous oblivion to which they are condemned.Nevertheless, a paradoxical dimension resides in the writer’s epistolary work. While she seeks to restore the merit and legitimacy of women of letters who have been ignored, she practices a certain form of self-censorship and herself suffers the weight of male literary authority that oppresses her, preventing her, for instance, from producing English translations despite the initial success of her Sepolcri (G. Hervey) or discouraging her and making her doubt the quality of her poetry. This antithetical situation perfectly depicts the dilemmas and considerations of eighteenth-century women of letters regarding their relationship with writing, torn between the desire to make their voices heard and the dogma of the male canon that forces them to remain on the margins and depend on its validation in the hope of being remembered, albeit temporarily.: Sessione 10e : Fear of Being Forgotten: Silence and Oblivion in Pre-modern Italian Women WritersOrganized by Giulia Cardillo and Eleonora Buonocore

Who says so ? Upper primary students to evaluate source credibility
International audienceIn an educational context marked by the urgency of combating misinformation and fostering critical thinking from an early age, the ability to evaluate the credibility of information sources is becoming a core competence. This contribution focuses on a theoretical model designed to support upper primary school students (ages 9–11) in developing structured and rational criteria to assess source credibility. The model articulates two key dimensions : competence and trustworthiness, operationalized through observable cues such as expertise, reputation, incentives, and engagement. The model was tested in a test/post-test design involving both experimental and control groups, across 29 French classrooms and over 370 students. The intervention combined conceptual teaching with guided practice. It included class discussions and exercises aimed at helping students reflect on what makes a source credible and how to justify their judgments.Quantitative and qualitative analyses of students’ choices and written justifications show that conceptual instruction significantly improves their capacity to provide explicit and relevant criteria when evaluating sources. Following the intervention, students more frequently referred to structured dimensions such as subject-matter expertise, alignment of interest, or the source’s authority.Beyond the effects of the intervention, the analysis of spontaneous justifications in the control groups revealed recurring reliance on cues such as access to information and social familiarity (e.g., past experience, known reputation). These findings shed light on the intuitive models that children use when judging credibility and point toward developmental trajectories in critical thinking. Understanding these initial patterns provides valuable insights for designing more effective and age-appropriate critical thinking instruction. The proposed model offers both a conceptual lens and a practical tool to support structured reasoning about credibility at the primary level. It can help educators better assess students' evaluative thinking and scaffold metacognitive reflection during inquiry-based learning or media education activities. Overall, this study contributes to a better understanding of how young learners begin to reason about source reliability, and how these skills can be meaningfully supported in educational settings
Le Danemark, terre d'accueil pour la vanlife ?
Halfway between a philosophy of life and a new form of tourism, vanlife is attracting more and more travellers in search of freedom, nature and meaning. This thesis explores its development in Denmark, a country renowned for its commitment to sustainability, its lifestyle and its openness to innovation. Through an approach combining theoretical analysis, field research and professional case studies, it questions the compatibility between this mode of travel and Danish cultural and tourist dynamics.
