    Dismembering the Issues of Capitalism, Human Rights, and Mental Health of Irish People in the Novel Normal People by Sally Rooney

    The capitalist ideology has been critiqued in various disciplines, including literature, especially when executed by tyrant governments or influential individuals. This article examines how modern discourse, such as the novel Normal People by Sally Rooney, represents issues of capitalism in Ireland, which impact the rights of its people and their access to mental health. The study is a qualitative scrutiny of the novel, applying the Marxist Theory of Ideology by Louis Althusser to investigate such representations. The primary data from the novel and the secondary information from other sources are interpreted to investigate three main questions: How do Normal People portray capitalism in Ireland, how does this ideology impact the individual rights of its people, and how does it affect access to mental health problems? The study results indicate that the novel portrays the pervasiveness of capitalist ideology in the hearts of Irish people, affecting their rights to live and the freedom of expression, and the practice of capitalism has a substantial impact on Irish youngsters' mental health. Due to the limitations of the methods and data comprehensiveness, further studies on Normal People may consider alternative literary lenses, such as pragmatic and other analytical approaches, looking at sociocultural institutions and systems

    Politik Hukum Keluarga Islam di Thailand (Dualisme Aturan Negara dan Agama)

    Tulisan ini mengkaji beberapa peraturan yang tercermin dalam kebijakan negara dan upaya masyarakat Muslim untuk mempertahankan nilai-nilai agama mereka dalam konteks kehidupan keluarga. Meskipun Thailand mayoritas penduduknya beragama Buddha, masyarakat Muslim, khususnya di wilayah selatan, memiliki tradisi hukum keluarga yang berlandaskan pada ajaran Islam. Negara Thailand memberikan ruang terbatas bagi penerapan hukum Islam dalam urusan keluarga melalui pengadilan agama (Shari'ah Court), namun tetap mempertahankan kontrol terhadap sistem peradilan yang lebih luas berbasis hukum sipil. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menerapkan analisis studi kasus, analisis konten, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis silang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwasanya politik hukum keluarga di Thailand, Pertama, terdapat dualisme aturan yakni aturan negara dan agama yang berpengaruh pada hak sipil dan pelayanan publik umat muslim. Kedua, budaya penduduk mayoritas tetap mempengaruhi sistem tradisi perkawinan umat muslim. Ketiga, Implikasi dualisme aturan ini berdampak pada banyak ketentuan dalam hukum keluarga, misalnya dalam masalah usia perkawinan, tata cara dan prosedur perkawinan, pertunangan, pencatatan perkawinan, syarat perkawinan, wali, saksi nikah, kursus pra-perkawinan, perkawinan beda agama, perkawinan sejenis. Bahkan dalam aturan mengenai perkawinan sejenis aturan negara belum bisa mengakui dan belum mengkategorikannya sebagai perbuatan yang menyimpang atau bahkan kriminal. (This paper examines some of the regulations reflected in state policies and the efforts of muslim communities to maintain their religious values in the context of family life. Although Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, the muslim community, particularly in the south has a tradition of family based on Islamic teachings. The Thailand state provides limited scope for the application of Islamic law in family matters through religious courts (Shari’ah Courts),but still maintains control over the broader civil law-based justice system. This study uses a qualitative approach by applying case study analysis, content analysis, participant observation, and cross analysis. The results of this study indicate that family law politics in Thailand, First, there is a dualism of rules, namely state and religious rules that affect civil rights and public services for muslims. Second, the culture of the majority population still influences the muslim marriage tradition system. Third, the implications of this dualism of rules have an aimpact on many provisons in family law, for example in marriage age, marriage procedures, engagement, marriage registration, marriage requirements, guardians, marriage witnesses, pre-marriage courses, interfaith marriages, Even in the rules regarding same-sex marriages, state regulations have not been able to recognize and have not categorized it as a deviant or even criminal act)

    Analysis Of Children’s Legal Protection Efforts From Parents Inmates For Children’s Emotional Health

    This study analyzes legal protection efforts for the emotional health of children whose parents are inmates. Using a qualitative approach with the case study method, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and principals, and analysis of related documents. This study uses a single subject, namely the subject in this study is only 1 child from the parents of the inmate. The results of the study showed that children with inmate parents were prone to experiencing emotional health problems, such as stress and depression. Despite child protection policies, their implementation at the local level still faces various obstacles, including a lack of resources and understanding of the specific needs of children in these situations. This study recommends increased awareness and training for educators and related parties to increase the effectiveness of legal protection and support the emotional health of children affected by their parental status as inmates.This study analyzes legal protection efforts for the emotional health of children whose parents are inmates.     Transformasi Pembelajaran Motorik Kasar melalui Sintesis Demonstrasi Gerak-Lagu dan Model ATIK: Studi di TK Pertiwi Saleppa

    The development of gross motor skills serves as a key aspect in early childhood education. This study aims to analyze the transformation of gross motor learning through the synthesis of movement-song demonstration and ATIK model at TK Pertiwi Saleppa. This qualitative research employs a case study design involving 20 group B students (5 males, 15 females) and their teachers as research subjects. Data collection utilizes participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research findings reveal three major improvements: First, teaching practices become more structured through systematic planning, interactive delivery, and comprehensive assessment. Second, student engagement increases, shown by enhanced cognitive involvement during observation and imitation phases, optimal physical participation during improvisation and creation stages, and growing social interaction throughout learning activities. Third, gross motor skills develop progressively, evidenced by improved movement coordination, better balance control, and expanded movement creativity. The synthesis of movement-song demonstration and ATIK model creates an effective framework for gross motor development while maintaining student engagement throughout the learning process.Pengembangan keterampilan motorik kasar merupakan aspek utama pendidikan anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis transformasi pembelajaran motorik kasar melalui sintesis demonstrasi gerak-lagu dan model ATIK di TK Pertiwi Saleppa. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan desain studi kasus yang melibatkan 20 peserta didik kelompok B (5 laki-laki, 15 perempuan) beserta tenaga pendidik sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkap tiga peningkatan utama: Pertama, praktik pengajaran menjadi lebih terstruktur melalui perencanaan sistematis, penyampaian interaktif, dan penilaian menyeluruh. Kedua, keterlibatan peserta didik meningkat, ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan keterlibatan kognitif saat tahap pengamatan dan peniruan, partisipasi fisik optimal saat tahap improvisasi dan kreasi, serta interaksi sosial yang berkembang sepanjang aktivitas pembelajaran. Ketiga, keterampilan motorik kasar berkembang progresif, dibuktikan dengan koordinasi gerakan yang membaik, pengendalian keseimbangan yang meningkat, dan kreativitas gerakan yang berkembang. Sintesis demonstrasi gerak-lagu dan model ATIK menciptakan kerangka efektif bagi pengembangan motorik kasar sekaligus mempertahankan keterlibatan peserta didik sepanjang proses pembelajaran

    Enhancing Geography Learning: Development of 'Map Box' (Kopeta) as an Innovative Educational Tool for 7th Grade Social Studies at SMPN 3 Pamekasan

    The design used in this research is R&D (research and design), based on facts found in the field, students' lack of motivation in learning, especially social studies subjects, because the use of media by teachers is limited to visual and audio-visual media only. Therefore, researchers decided to conduct research to develop learning media for social studies subjects, namely Map Box (KOPETA). The formulation of the problem in this research is how to develop Kopeta and how effective Kopeta is. The model that is used in this research is 4D model. The research results show that the Kopeta developed meets the eligibility requirements. The validation results from material experts were 4.0 and the validation results from media experts were 3.4 with good criteria described as valid criteria. Then the product was tested on class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Pamekasan. The use of Kopeta can make learning activities more effective. Test results in small groups The average value before students used Kopeta was 49.00, whereas after using Kopeta it was 75.00 which was described as having good or effective criteria. After that, a large group trial of 33 students. Recapitulation results of field trials in large groups. The average value before students used Kopeta was 53.6. Meanwhile, after using Kopeta it was 80.6 which was described as having good or effective criteria

    Livelihood Responsibility Shifting to Migrant Worker Wives; A Reading of Qur’an and Hadith in Muslim Community

    This article aims to explore the shifting of livelihood (nafqa) responsibilities from husbands to wives in the contemporary context while looking at Muslim community’s reading on relevant Qur’an verses and hadith. Wives who work as migrant workers tend to serve as the main breadwinner in providing income in a household, including those from Kediri and Tulungagung, East Java. Livelihood itself is a common topic in the Islamic law discussion, mainly about who provide for whom and its quantity criteria.  Based on this problem, we portray the phenomenon and then present a reading of relevant Qur’anic verses and hadith within the community. The qualitative method was used by conducting interviews with husbands situated in that specific type of household. Data collection was also carried out by a review of relevant verses and hadith on family life followed by analytical approach using content analysis to identify how they are perceived by Muslim community. This study offers insights into Islamic family law in contemporary society, linking religious teachings to modern realities and providing a deeper understanding of this complex issue. The result shows that despite the phenomenon, the husbands still play their role as breadwinners, namely the secondary one. This stems from how they understand the rule of each family party, implying how religious teachings interplay with modern realities

    STRATEGI PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS ANAK ASUH PANTI PELAYANAN SOSIAL ANAK (PPSA) KASIH MESRA

    This research was carried out because it was motivated by cases of many character abuses committed by children, especially children who had disadvantaged family backgrounds.  Whether it is the absence of parents, or economic problems that make children less concerned about character formation, especially religious character.  The aim of this research is to describe the formation of the religious character of foster children at the Kasih Mesra Demak Children's Social Services Home (PPSA).  In this research, the type of research used is descriptive qualitative field research.  This research uses data collection methods in the form of interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires.  Based on the research that has been carried out, the researchers obtained the results that the religious character of foster children is formed through providing understanding through guidance, the example of orphanage caregivers, and through scheduled habituation activities.  Activities that focus on methods of providing understanding can be seen in the activities of providing guidance, namely: biological, psychological, social and religious guidance.  Activities that focus on the habituation method applied at PPSA Kasih Mesra Demak are: congregational prayers, reciting the Koran, gatherings and praying together, as well as all activities that have been carried out.  The exemplary method used to shape the religious character of foster children is, imitating the daily behavior of caregivers and PPSA employees, for example, discipline during prayer times and teaching children the Koran, honesty in providing children's rights, fairness in caring for children, and tawadhu' in  get along.

    Collaborative Counseling Model in Religious Learning for People with Disabilities

    This study examines the collaborative guidance and counseling model for individuals with disabilities in a religious education environment in Madura. This study addresses key questions: How do individuals with disabilities learn Islamic teachings? How do they fulfill religious obligations? What is the role of parents, siblings, and peers in providing social support? This study used a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The researcher conducted direct observations that allowed for in-depth experiences with families, educators, and students. Data triangulation was obtained through various sources, including focus group discussions (FGDs) with teachers, parents, and individuals with disabilities. The location of the study was SLB Api Alam Tlanakan. The findings indicate that (1) religious values ​​are internalized in both structured (Special School) and unstructured (family and social environments) environments; (2) economic constraints affect the family's ability to support religious education; and (3) religious education plays a unique role in shaping the behavior and identity of individuals with disabilities. This study highlights the importance of community involvement in religious education for individuals with disabilities.Penelitian ini mengkaji model bimbingan dan konseling kolaboratif bagi individu penyandang disabilitas dalam lingkungan pendidikan agama di Madura. Penelitian ini membahas pertanyaan kunci: Bagaimana individu penyandang disabilitas mempelajari ajaran Islam? Bagaimana mereka memenuhi kewajiban agama? Apa peran orang tua, saudara kandung, dan teman sebaya dalam memberikan dukungan sosial? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan dan analisis dokumen. Peneliti melakukan observasi langsung yang memungkinkan pengalaman mendalam dengan keluarga, pendidik, dan siswa. Triangulasi data dicapai melalui berbagai sumber, termasuk diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD) dengan guru, orang tua, dan individu penyandang disabilitas. Lokasi penelitian adalah SLB Api Alam Tlanakan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa (1) nilai-nilai agama terinternalisasi baik dalam lingkungan terstruktur (Sekolah Luar Biasa) maupun tidak terstruktur (lingkungan keluarga dan sosial); (2) kendala ekonomi memengaruhi kemampuan keluarga untuk mendukung pendidikan agama; dan (3) pendidikan agama memainkan peran unik dalam membentuk perilaku dan identitas individu penyandang disabilitas.     Post-Divorce Adjustment in Divorced Madurese Women

    The prevalence of divorce in Madurese society has increased in recent years, and the party that feels the most impact of divorce is women. This study aims to explain the adjustment of Madurese women after divorce. This study uses a qualitative method with a Phenomenological approach. Data collection used in-depth interview techniques involving 13 Madurese women who had divorced. Data were analyzed using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique which involved eight stages of data analysis. Data credibility was carried out using the member check technique. The results of the study showed two themes, namely emotional dynamics and post-divorce adjustment in Madurese women. The emotional dynamics of divorced Madurese women include loneliness, sadness, hopeless, disappointment, regret, pessimism, and relief. Meanwhile, the post-divorce adjustment process that they do includes seeking social support, busying themselves with various activities, getting closer to God through prayer and worship, trying to divert memories, regulating emotions, and rebuilding self-confidence. This study is useful for Madurese women as a basis or guideline in making adjustments after divorce. It is also important to understand that the role of close people can contribute greatly to helping divorced women adjust.Prevalensi angka perceraian pada masyarakat Madura semakin meningkat pada beberapa tahun terakhir, dan pihak yang paling merasakan dampak perceraian adalah perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang penyesuaian perempuan Madura setelah perceraian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara secara mendalam dengan melibatkan sebanyak 13 partisipan penelitian perempuan Madura yang sudah bercerai. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) yang melibatkan delapan tahap analisis data. Kredibilitas data kemudian dilakukan menggunakan teknik member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua tema yakni dinamika emosional dan penyesuaian pasca perceraian pada perempuan Madura. Dinamika emosional perempuan Madura yang bercerai meliputi kesepian, sedih, putus asa, kecewa, menyesal, pesimis, dan lega. Sedangkan proses penyesuaian pasca perceraian yang mereka lakukan seperti mencari dukungan sosial, menyibukkan diri dengan berbagai aktifitas, mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan dengan berdoa dan beribadah, mencoba mengalihkan ingatan, melakukan regulasi emosi, dan membangun kembali kepercayaan diri. Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi perempuan Madura sebagai dasar atau pedoman dalam melakukan penyesuaian setelah perceraian. Penting dipahami juga bahwa peran orang-orang terdekat dapat berkontribusi besar dalam membantu penyesuaian perempuan yang bercerai

    Using a Digital Multimodal-Google Sites to Enhance Students' Reading Comprehension Proficiency in Narrative Text

    This study discusses students' challenges in reading narrative texts. In this study, we have discussed the effectiveness test of the Google Sites digital multimodal platform to improve students' comprehension in reading. This study used pre-experimental approach with a single-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 79 ninth-grade students at SMP Ma’had Islam Semarang. They were selected using purposive sampling. In this method. Iit systematically explored basic comprehension through pretests, intervened students using Google Sites, and ended with a posttest to determine the improvement in reading comprehension achieved by students. The main findings of this study show an increase in students' understanding in reading narrative texts through the Google Sites digital multimodal platform. So it can be concluded that Google Sites' learning tools are significant for improving the reading comprehension of narrative texts. The limitation of this study is the absence of a control group, but the results of the study show that this method approach is highly recommended to maximize students' reading comprehension instruction
