    Developing an Innovative Board Game Using a Cooperative Learning Approach to Foster Interest in Learning Arabic

    The background of the study shows that students' low interest in learning is influenced by the use of monotonous teacher teaching styles and the rare use of learning media due to limited time and teacher ability to make learning media. This study aims to develop board game media using a cooperative learning approach to increase students' interest in learning Arabic at SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin. This development research uses the ADDIE model to design and evaluate the effectiveness of board game media. The study results showed that the developed board game media received a "very feasible" category from the media, language, and material validators and met the practicality criteria of 3.80 based on student responses in grade 5 of SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin. The implementation of a cooperative learning-based board game has proven to be effective in fostering a more interactive and engaging learning environment, enhancing student participation, and significantly increasing their interest in learning Arabic

    Early Childhood Numeracy Skill Assessment: A Preparation Study For Elementary School Transition

    Low numeracy skills in early childhood affect primary school readiness. Children will have difficulty facing challenges in mathematics, problem solving, other subjects, daily activities, self-confidence, motivation to learn, and social interaction. This study aims to analyze the level of numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years in the Surakarta Residential and identify aspects of numeracy skills that are still low, so that it can be a reference in providing appropriate stimulation. The research method used a survey. Data collection techniques through a numeracy assessment questionnaire and validated by expert judgment. The sampling technique used convenience sampling by randomly selecting two kindergartens in each district / city in Surakarta Prefecture, so that 386 respondents of children aged 5-6 years were obtained. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that 13.2% of the children had high numeracy skills, 67.9% were in the medium category, and 18.9% were in the low category. Of the five aspects of numeracy measured (number, geometry, measurement, computation, and data analysis), the number aspect was found to be the most mastered by the children. The geometry, measurement, and computation aspects were in the moderate category. The data analysis aspect showed the lowest results, indicating difficulties in understanding more complex numerical concepts. These findings suggest the need for more innovative and inquiry-based learning strategies to improve children's numeracy skills. The research recommendations emphasize the importance of strengthening activity-based learning methods, using interactive teaching aids, and increasing the involvement of teachers and parents in supporting early numeracy skills.Kemampuan numerasi yang rendah pada anak usia dini memiliki dampak terhadap kesiapan sekolah dasar. Anak akan kesulitan menghadapi tantangan dalam pelajaran matematika, pemecahan masalah, mata pelajaran lain, aktivitas sehari-hari, kepercayaan diri, motivasi belajar, dan interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kemampuan numerasi anak usia 5-6 tahun di Karisidenan Surakarta dan mengidentifikasi aspek numerasi yang masih rendah sehingga dapat menjadi rujukan dalam memberikan stimulasi yang tepat. Metode penelitian menggunakan survei. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket penilaian numerasi dan divalidasi isi oleh expert judgment. Teknik sampling menggunakan random sampling dengan memilih secara random dua TK disetiap kabupaten/kota yang ada di Karisidenan Surakarta sehingga diperoleh 386 responden anak usia 5-6 tahun. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 13,2% anak memiliki kemampuan numerasi tinggi, 67,9% berada pada kategori sedang, dan 18,9% berada pada kategori rendah. Dari lima aspek numerasi yang diukur (bilangan, geometri, pengukuran, perhitungan, dan analisis data), ditemukan bahwa aspek bilangan paling dikuasai oleh anak. Aspek geometri, pengukuran, dan perhitungan berada dalam kategori cukup baik. Aspek analisis data menunjukkan hasil paling rendah, yang mengindikasikan adanya kesulitan dalam memahami konsep numerasi yang lebih kompleks. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan berbasis eksplorasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi anak. Rekomendasi penelitian menekankan pentingnya penguatan metode pembelajaran berbasis aktivitas, penggunaan alat peraga interaktif, serta peningkatan keterlibatan guru dan orang tua dalam mendukung literasi numerasi sejak dini

    Early Childhood Learning Based on Local Wisdom: A Study of Kindergartens in Pontianak City

    This study aims to analyze local wisdom-based learning carried out in early childhood at Haruniyah Kindergarten and PKK Benua Melayu Laut Playgroup in Pontianak City. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. While data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that local wisdom-based learning through various approaches, such as stories and textbooks, has an important role in the formation of character and identity in early childhood. At Haruniyah Kindergarten and PKK Benua Melayu Laut Playgroup, this approach is implemented effectively by integrating local wisdom in learning. The results of this study indicate that in storybooks there is local wisdom content containing elements of local wisdom, such as traditional food and traditional transportation. The book functions as a learning medium that has cultural valuePenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal yang dilakukan pada anak usia dini di TK Haruniyah dan Kelompok Bermain PKK Benua Melayu Laut di Kota Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal melalui berbagai pendekatan, seperti cerita dan buku teks, memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan identitas anak usia dini. Di TK Haruniyah dan KB PKK Benua Melayu Laut, pendekatan ini diterapkan secara efektif dengan mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam buku cerita terdapat muatan kearifan lokal memuat elemen-elemen kearifan lokal, seperti makanan tradisional dan transportasi tradisional.     Students’ Gains in English as a Second or Foreign Language through Game-Based Learning: A Meta-Analysis

    Various digitally aided applications have prompted ESL/EFL teachers to adopt them in their classrooms for games and experiments; hence, the concept of play in pedagogical settings has grown and become more modern, modifying the structures of Game-based Learning (GBL). This study, therefore, aims to analyze the effectiveness of GBL through meta-analysis. Following the set of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 16 studies in East Asia, Middle East Asia, and South America conducted from 2018 to 2023 have qualified for this study with 14 studies on tertiary level (n=822); 1 on secondary (n=56); and 1 on primary (n=46). Studies were obtained from Google Scholar, OpenAlex, Scopus, and Crossref. Further, the researchers used Harzing’s Publish or Perish software to exhaust the search process. Sample size, mean, and standard deviation were analyzed using the Jamovi software version 2.4 to determine the effect sizes (Hedge's g) and the results of moderator analysis, forest plot, funnel plot, and Classic Fail-Safe N test. Findings have shown that GBL, as an approach to teaching English, had a significant and positive effect (ES=1.19) on students' achievement in different language domains. Educational levels and the type of game-based learning employed as moderators were also proven to be factors that may affect learning outcomes. Hence, more studies testing the subgroups mentioned above should be conducted to facilitate more comprehensive comparative educational research in the future

    Studi Perbandingan Kehidupan Perempuan Transgender dalam Pasung Jiwa dan Anak Gembala yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan alur perjalanan tokoh utama hingga menjadi transpuan sebagai identitas gendernya dalam novel Pasung Jiwa karya Okky Madasari dan Anak Gembala yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman karya A. Mustafa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan kajian sastra bandingan. Teori yang digunakan yakni konsep performativitas gender dari Judith Butler. Teknik baca-catat dan studi pustaka menjadi teknik pengumpulan data sedangkan analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dalam novel Pasung Jiwa, tokoh utama dikisahkan menjadi transpuan karena kungkungan dalam melakoni kegemarannya, yakni menyanyi dangdut, dsb. Pengalaman transfobia secara langsung dan tidak langsung, serta kekerasan seksual juga dialami oleh tokoh utama, yakni perkosaan, ujaran kebencian, dan penghakiman. Sedangkan dalam Anak Gembala yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman, mendapatkan pengaruh buruk dari pengasuhnya, dan karena mengidolakan ibunya yang cantik.This research aims to compare the plot of the main character's journey to becoming a trans woman as her gender identity in the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari and Anak Gembala Yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman by A. Mustafa. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a comparative literature study. The theory used is Judith Butler's concept of gender performativity. Reading and note-taking techniques and literature study were the data collection techniques in this research. Data analysis techniques use data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained include in the novel Pasung Jiwa, the main character is said to be a trans woman because she is confined to pursuing her passion, namely singing dangdut, etc. The main character also experiences direct and indirect experiences of transphobia, as well as sexual violence, namely rape, etc. Meanwhile, in the novel Anak Gembala Yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman, who insulted transvestite thugs, was under bad influence from his caretaker and idolized his beautiful mother

    Kemampuan Bahasa Tulis pada Individu dengan Alzheimer: Kajian Neurolinguistik

    Impaired brain function in individual with Alzheimer’s progressively affects to the cognitive and motor functions required to perform written language skills. This study aims to identify and describe the written skill in individual with Alzheimer’s through a case study approach. Data was obtained from a 56 years old elderly whose initials is KA and lives in PPSLU Potroyudan Jepara. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, observation, and interviews. Then, KA’s handwriting analysed using writing disorders theory through Neurolinguistic studies. The results showed that there are four forms of disturbance in KA’s written language, those are irregular writing, word omission in long sentences, letter omission, and letter replacement. The findings showed that Allzheimer which causes dysfunction in several parts of the brain also resulted in agraphia and a decrease in the syntactic complexity of writing.Gangguan fungsi otak pada individu dengan Alzheimer berdampak secara progresif terhadap fungsi kognitif dan motorik yang diperlukan untuk menjalankan kemampuan menulis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk bahasa tulis pada individu dengan Alzheimer melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh dari seorang lansia berusia 56 tahun berinisial KA yang tinggal di PPSLU Potroyudan Jepara. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui cara dokumentasi, pengamatan, dan wawancara. Hasil tulisan tangan KA kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori gangguan menulis melalui kajian Neurolinguistik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat bentuk bahasa tulis KA, yaitu tulisan tidak teratur, penghilangan kata pada kalimat panjang, penghilangan huruf, dan penggantian huruf. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Alzheimer yang menyebabkan disfungsi pada beberapa bagian otak turut mengakibatkan terjadinya agrafia dan penurunan kompleksitas sintaksis tulisan

    Analisis Big Data dalam Peminatan Mahasiswa Baru: Pendekatan Ekologis untuk Inovasi Pembelajaran Bahasa

    The study of new student interest in the Tarbiyah Faculty of IAIN Madura reflects prospective students' preferences for various study programs, which are essential to design adaptively in response to social changes and global challenges, including environmental issues. This research focuses on analyzing student interest using big data to understand trends in program selection and its relevance to ecological education in language learning. The research employs a quantitative approach with secondary data analysis, utilizing Python programming and libraries such as Pandas and Matplotlib for data processing and visualization from 2014 to 2020. The analysis reveals that the Islamic Education Management (MPI) and Islamic Counseling Guidance (BKPI) programs have the highest levels of interest, while the Arabic Language Education (PBA) program is less favored. Most prospective students come from the Madura region with backgrounds in general education and pesantren. Based on these findings, this study recommends the integration of ecological education into popular programs’ curricula to enhance environmental awareness among students. These findings are expected to assist the Tarbiyah Faculty in designing a curriculum that is more responsive to community needs and environmental challenges, while supporting student character development based on ecological and Islamic values.Peminatan mahasiswa baru di Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Madura mencerminkan minat dan preferensi calon mahasiswa terhadap berbagai program studi, yang sangat penting untuk dirancang secara adaptif dalam menghadapi perubahan sosial dan tantangan global, termasuk isu-isu lingkungan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis peminatan mahasiswa baru menggunakan big data untuk memahami tren pemilihan program studi serta relevansinya dengan pendidikan ekologis dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis data sekunder, memanfaatkan pemrograman Python dan pustaka seperti Pandas dan Matplotlib untuk pemrosesan dan visualisasi data dari tahun 2014 hingga 2020. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa program studi Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) dan Bimbingan Konseling Pendidikan Islam (BKPI) memiliki tingkat peminatan tertinggi, sedangkan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab (PBA) kurang diminati. Sebagian besar calon mahasiswa berasal dari wilayah Madura dengan latar belakang sekolah umum dan pesantren. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi pendidikan ekologis dalam kurikulum program studi yang diminati guna meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan mahasiswa. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat membantu Fakultas Tarbiyah dalam merancang kurikulum yang lebih responsif terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat dan tantangan lingkungan, serta mendukung pengembangan karakter mahasiswa berbasis nilai-nilai ekologis dan Islam

    Eksploitasi Alam dalam Perspektif Sastra: Kajian Ekologi Sastra Novel Tiang Garam Karya Royyan Julian dan Implikasinya pada Pendidikan Literasi Lingkungan

    Environmental issues continue to be a global concern, driven by exploitative human behavior that disrupts ecological balance. Literature, as a reflection of reality, often addresses environmental problems through narratives that raise ecological awareness among readers. This study aims to describe the representation of environmental issues in the novel Tiang Garam by Royyan Julian and its relevance to teaching Indonesian Language and Literature. A qualitative descriptive method with an ecocriticism approach was employed. The research data consist of textual excerpts depicting environmental problems, with the primary source being the novel Tiang Garam. Data collection was conducted using observation and note-taking techniques, and data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, modified to suit the research needs. The findings highlight three major environmental issues in the novel: (1) deforestation, (2) environmental pollution, and (3) animal exploitation, all resulting from human activities. The conclusion reveals that Tiang Garam is highly relevant as teaching material for Indonesian Language and Literature, particularly in fostering students' ecological awareness and encouraging responsible attitudes toward nature conservation.Isu lingkungan hidup terus menjadi persoalan global yang mengkhawatirkan akibat perilaku eksploitatif manusia yang merusak keseimbangan alam. Sastra sebagai cerminan realitas sering menyuarakan masalah-masalah lingkungan dalam bentuk wacana yang dapat membangun kesadaran ekologis pembaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan representasi masalah lingkungan dalam novel Tiang Garam karya Royyan Julian serta relevansinya dalam pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan ekologi sastra. Data penelitian berupa kutipan teks yang merepresentasikan persoalan lingkungan, dengan sumber data dari novel Tiang Garam. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak dan catat, sementara analisis data menggunakan model Miles & Huberman yang dimodifikasi sesuai kebutuhan. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi tiga isu lingkungan utama dalam novel: (1) kerusakan pohon, (2) pencemaran lingkungan, dan (3) eksploitasi hewan, yang semuanya dipicu oleh aktivitas manusia. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa novel Tiang Garam memiliki relevansi yang signifikan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kesadaran siswa akan pentingnya menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan memperlakukan alam dengan bijak

    MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DIGITAL BERBASIS YOUTUBE UNTUK MEMBANGUN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DI SD IT BINA INSAN

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pembelajaran digital berbasis YouTube untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa di SD IT Bina Insan Kabupaten Deli Serdang Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan memanfaatkan pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan wawancara. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan YouTube sebagai media pembelajaran dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih menarik, interaktif, dan efektif. Video edukasi YouTube membantu siswa lebih mudah memahami materi, meningkatkan semangat belajar, dan mengurangi rasa bosan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis YouTube dapat menjadi cara yang efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan partisipasi aktif siswa sekolah dasar serta meningkatkan kualitas pembelajarannya
