Curiosity-Driven Learning in Arabic: A Case Study on the 'Inquiring Minds Want to Know' Approach
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the "Inquiring Minds Want to Know" learning model in Arabic language instruction at MTsN 3 Tulungagung. The model was chosen to address the gap between students' desire to learn and their ability to cultivate curiosity. This research employed a phenomenological qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The findings reveal that the implementation of the "Inquiring Minds Want to Know" learning model in Arabic language instruction follows four main stages: (1) formulating questions that stimulate students' interest in learning and discussion, (2) providing opportunities for students to make predictions or guesses, (3) recording all student predictions without immediately providing answers to maintain curiosity, and (4) using questions as a bridge to connect learning materials and delivering appropriate answers throughout the learning process. This learning model has proven effective in enhancing students' active participation and critical thinking skills in the context of Arabic language learning
Implementation of Montessori Method in Developing Freedom and Independence Values at TKS Islam YPAA Sumenep
This study aims to explore the application of the Montessori method in implementing values of freedom and independence in early childhood at TKS Islam YPAA Pangarangan Sumenep. The Montessori method was chosen because it is considered capable of accommodating children's learning needs personally, by providing directed freedom and an environment that supports independent exploration. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation and interviews as data collection techniques. The informants in this study consisted of the principal, classroom teachers, and students. The results indicate that the value of freedom is reflected in various activities such as collage, counting, and shape-building, which allow children to choose media and tools based on their interests. Children's independence is developed through practical activities such as wearing socks and washing vegetables. The teacher acts as a facilitator who supports exploration without reducing the children's freedom. The application of shaping techniques has also proven effective in developing independent skills. In conclusion, the Montessori method at TKS Islam YPAA Pangarangan Sumenep successfully supports the development of freedom and independence in children, in line with the principles formulated by Maria Montessori, although there are several supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan metode Montessori dalam mengimplementasikan nilai-nilai kebebasan dan kemandirian pada anak usia dini di TKS Islam YPAA Pangarangan Sumenep. Metode Montessori dipilih karena dianggap mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar anak secara personal, dengan memberikan kebebasan terarah dan lingkungan yang mendukung eksplorasi mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan murid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kebebasan tercermin dalam berbagai aktivitas seperti kolase, menghitung, dan membangun bentuk, yang memungkinkan anak untuk memilih media dan alat sesuai minat mereka. Kemandirian anak dikembangkan melalui kegiatan praktis seperti memakai kaos kaki dan mencuci sayur. Guru berperan sebagai fasilitator yang mendukung eksplorasi tanpa mengurangi kebebasan anak. Penerapan teknik shaping juga terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan mandiri. Kesimpulannya, metode Montessori di TKS Islam YPAA Pangarangan Sumenep berhasil mendukung pengembangan kebebasan dan kemandirian anak sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip yang dirumuskan oleh Maria Montessori, meskipun terdapat beberapa faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam implementasinya
Developing Pocketbook Media to Enhance Students' Vocabulary Mastery and Pronunciation Accuracy in English for Business Course
Due to limited familiarity with business terminology and challenges to connect the right letter-sound correspondences, a lot of students attending English for Business course encounter difficulties in both verbal and written communication. This is definitely a critical issue to be paid more attention as students’ language proficiency will lead to the success in achieving learning objectives and workplace expectations. Though some previous studies regarding the development of pocketbooks have been conducted, none has focused on the business English context. Therefore, this study aims to address this study gap by investigating the development of Business English pocketbook, specifically focusing on vocabulary mastery and pronunciation accuracy to meet the educational objectives and workplace demands. This pocketbook was developed based on the ADDIE model, which consists of five phases including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This study highlights the valuable assistance of ADDIE framework in developing a well-organized pocketbook to boost vocabulary mastery and pronunciation accuracy for business English needs
Breaking Barriers: Integrating Padlet to Introduce Environmental Education to Pre-Service Teachers
This study explores the integration of Padlet, a web-based digital platform, into environmental education for pre-service teachers at Tadris Bahasa Inggris (TBI) of IAIN Madura, Indonesia, using a mixed-methods approach. A purposive sample of 98 pre-service teachers from 47 Teaching Practice 1 pre-service teachers and 51 TEYL pre-service teachers from TBI participated. The research aims to bridge the gap between environmental education theory and teaching practice by utilizing Padlet as a learning medium. Data collection included pre- and post-surveys on pre-service teachers' perceptions and knowledge of environmental education and technology, along with interviews, observations, and course material analysis. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. Findings indicate that Padlet significantly enhances student engagement, collaborative learning, and understanding of environmental concepts. The platform's versatility allows for interactive activities that cater to diverse learning styles, fostering critical thinking and environmental consciousness. Despite challenges such as resource constraints and varying levels of digital literacy, the study highlights the potential of digital tools like Padlet to enrich environmental education. The research contributes to the scholarship on innovative pedagogical approaches in sustainability education and offers recommendations for integrating technology into teacher training programs. Findings provide insights into how Padlet supports critical thinking, collaboration, and environmental awareness in teacher education, demonstrating its value as a transformative tool for preparing environmentally conscious future educators
MENUMBUHKAN KARAKTER ISLAMI DAN PEMAHAMAN AGAMA ISLAM MELALUI PROGRAM KEGIATAN PONDOK SYAWAL BERBASIS MABIT DI MAN 2 KOTA MALANG
This research aims to analyze the Pondok Syawal activity program based on Malam Bina Iman dan Taqwa (MABIT) in cultivating Islamic character and understanding of the Islamic religion in students at MAN 2 Malang City. This activity program was carried out at the Al-Hayatul Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School, Malang City. This research uses a mixed method (quantitative-qualitative) sequential exploratory design. Data collection was carried out through surveys, in-depth interviews, and participant observation. The research subjects were students at MAN 2 Malang City who took part in the Pondok Syawal program in 1445 H, totaling 20 participants. The research results show that program is effective in cultivating Islamic character and understanding of the Islamic religion in students. This program contributed to the Islamic character of 92.8% (very good) and understanding of the Islamic religion of 78.4% (good). This program provides meaningful and contextual learning experiences for students, so they can understand and practice Islamic teachings better. Then students become more disciplined, have good morals, and understand Islamic teachings better. The findings of this research provide important implications for the implementation of Islamic education programs in madrasas. The MABIT-based Pondok Syawal program can be an alternative Islamic education program that is effective and beneficial for students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis program kegiatan Pondok Syawal berbasis Malam Bina Iman dan Taqwa (MABIT) dalam menumbuhkan karakter Islami dan pemahaman agama Islam pada peserta didik MAN 2 Kota Malang. Program kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Al-Hayatul Islamiyah Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (kuantitatif-kualitatif) desain sequential expalantory. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui survei, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi partisipan. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik MAN 2 Kota Malang yang mengikuti program Pondok Syawal tahun 1445 H yang berjumlah 20 peserta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini efektif dalam menumbuhkan karakter Islami dan pemahaman agama Islam pada. Program ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap karakter Islami sebesar 92,8% (sangat baik) dan pemahaman agama Islam 78,4% (baik). Program ini memberikan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna dan kontekstual, sehingga peserta didik dapat memahami dan mengamalkan ajaran Islam dengan lebih baik. Kemudian peserta didik menjadi lebih disiplin, memiliki akhlak yang baik, dan memahami ajaran Islam dengan lebih baik. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi implementasi program pendidikan Islam di madrasah. Program Pondok Syawal berbasis MABIT dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif program pendidikan Islam yang efektif dan bermanfaat bagi peserta didik
Analisis Multimodal pada Sampul Majalah Tempo Pilpres 2024: Kajian Semiotika Sosial
This research aims to analyze the newspaper coverage of the presidential election 2024 because this issue was a controversial phenomenon and has many perspectives for the community. The method used was descriptive qualitative since it describes a social phenomenon with the verb and visual meaning. The source was obtained from the Tempo website with politically based, namely https://majalah.tempo.co , and the data was an optical element and languages such as phrases and sentences. After analysis, it was found that all data is based on the idea of the 2024 presidential election in a narrative representational form because the visual maker presents a story from the elements that appear. In the interactive meaning, the visual maker uses statements and interrogative sentences to interact with the reader and employs an eye-high view visual form parallel to the reader's eye line. Then the textual meaning and composition are presented in the form of all verbs as a linguistic expression for the visual maker and certain elements that want to highlight, such as the color red, President Jokowi, billboards on the street, and ministers.Penelitian ini menganalisis sampul majalah tempo tentang Pilpres 2024. Isu tersebut adalah berita yang paling banyak dibicarakan, sehingga penting untuk meneliti lebih lanjut tentang fenomena tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif karena menjabarkan sebuah fenomana sosial yaitu makna verba dan visual. Sumber data diperoleh dari website majalah Tempo sebagai majalah yang banyak membicarakan tentang politik yaitu https://majalah.tempo.co dan data adalah berupa elemen-elemen visual dan bahasa dalam bentuk frasa dan kalimat. Setelah dilakukan analisis. Setelah menganalisis data, ditemukan bahwa unsur visual dan bahasa saling berhubungan untuk menciptakan makna. Kemudian, makna ini berdampak pada presepsi dan intrepretasi audiens, mengendalikan emosi dan respon psikologis, dan mempengaruhi pola pikir, khususnya mengenai berita politik pemilu presiden. Akhirnya, penelitian ini penting untuk mengetahui bagaimana berita politik menyampaikan makna simbol-simbol yang disajikan dalam pemberitaan surat kabar, khususnya dengan menggunakan analisis multimodal
Gaya Bahasa Asonansi dan Aliterasi pada Q.S At-Takwir Juz 30: Kajian Fonologi Fungsional Estetik
The focus of this research to analyzing patterns of the purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the patterns of assonance and alliteration in Q.S. At-Takwir, to understand how these phonological elements contribute to the aesthetic beauty and strengthen the meaning of the theological message contained in the surah. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The data in this study are in the form of the text of Q.S. At-Takwir from the Qur'an. The stages of data analysis include data collection, identification and categorization, phonological analysis, data interpretation, drawing conclusions, and data validation. The results show that assonance creates a deep emotional atmosphere and strengthens the message, while alliteration adds rhythm, deepening the dramatic effect. Assonance and alliteration in Q.S. At-Takwir play an important role in beautifying the text, building rhythm, and strengthening the theology of the message, indicating that these phonological elements function more than just aesthetics, but as a means of conveying a deep spiritual message.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola asonansi dan aliterasi dalam Q.S. At-Takwir, untuk memahami elemen-elemen fonologis ini berkontribusi pada keindahan estetika dan penguatan makna pesan teologis dalam surah tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa teks Q.S. At-Takwir dari Al-Qur'an. Tahapan analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, identifikasi dan kategorisasi, analisis fonologis, interpretasi data, penyusunan kesimpulan, dan validasi data. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa asonansi menciptakan suasana emosional yang mendalam dan memperkuat pesan, sementara aliterasi menambah ritme, memperdalam efek dramatis. Asonansi dan aliterasi dalam Q.S. At-Takwir berperan penting dalam memperindah teks, membangun ritme, dan memperkuat pesan teologis, menunjukkan bahwa elemen fonologis ini berfungsi lebih dari sekadar estetika, melainkan sebagai alat penyampaian pesan spiritual yang mendalam
PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN KOMIK BERBANTUAN CANVA PADA PELAJARAN PPKN DI KELAS IV SD
Penelitian pengembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya media pembelajaran pada pelajaran PPKn di kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan media pembelajaran komik berbantuan Canva pada pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila Kewarganegaraan (PKKn), dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran komik berbantuan Canva pada pelajaran PPKn materi pola hidup bergotong royong di kelas IV SD. Adapun penelitian dan pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) ini menggunakan model Brog & Gall yang terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu penelitian dan pengumpulan informasi, pengembangan produk, uji validasi, revisi desain, dan uji coba produk. Media yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli bahasa sebelum melakukan uji coba produk kepada guru kelas dan siswa. Adapun hasil analisis data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan angket ahli media, angket ahli materi, angket ahli bahasa, angket guru kelas IV, angket siswa, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun hasil analisis data, bahwa media pembelajaran komik berbantuan Canva dikategorikan Sangat Baik dengan penilaian ahli media 87,8% rata-rata 4,38, ahli materi 95,6% rata-rata 4,78, ahli bahasa 98% rata-rata 4,9, dan dikategorikan Baik dengan penilaian angket guru kelas dengan nilai 74% rata-rata 3,7. Adapun hasil data uji coba produk berdasarkan analisis data yang diuji cobakan kepada siswa melalui angket dengan nilai 91,8% rata-rata 4,59 termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik atau layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran
ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI PERANGKAT LUNAK DAN TOOLS UNTUK MEDIA DAN BAHAN AJAR BERBASIS TEKHNOLOGI DI MI/SD
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh berkembangnya teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan yang memberikan banyak manfaat. Salah satu teknologi yang saat ini sering banyak digunakan yaitu aplikasi perangkat lunak dan tools yang merupakan sebuah alat. Perangkat lunak akan terus menjadi perkembangan teknologi yang paling dekat dan akrab bagi kita. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis Aplikasi Perangkat Lunak dan Tools untuk Media dan bahan ajar berbasis teknologi di MI. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu Perangkat lunak (software) Media dan bahan ajar berbasis teknologi ada beberapa yang dapat diterapkan dan digunakan seperti Ms Office yang didalamnya terdapat, Ms Word, Ms PowerPoint, serta excel serta canva. Begitupun dengan tools yang merupakan sebuah alat yang dapat membantu sebuah pekerjaan seperti Chromebook, Google Classroom, Google Chrome, Elearning serta geogebra.
 
ALOn BKI: Developing Digital Innovation for Islamic Counseling Services
This study aims to develop an online Islamic Counseling Guidance (ALOn BKI) service application as an innovative solution to expand access to digital technology-based Islamic counseling. This application is designed using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model approach, which provides a systematic framework in each stage of development. The focus of the study includes user needs analysis, application design and development, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation. The results of the study indicate that ALOn BKI has succeeded in providing flexible and practical Islamic counseling services, equipped with interactive features such as chat, video calls, and materials based on sharia values. The application trial showed a high level of user satisfaction, especially in terms of ease of access and relevance of services to Islamic teachings. In addition, the reminder and ongoing guidance features support the counseling process effectively. However, there are challenges in the form of low digital literacy in some users and the need to strengthen the personal data security system. Recommendations for further development include the addition of analytical features to track client progress and thematic support groups. In conclusion, ALOn BKI makes a significant contribution to increasing the accessibility and effectiveness of technology-based Islamic counseling services. This application has the potential to be a model for the development of religion-based counseling services in the futurePenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi layanan online Bimbingan Konseling Islam (ALOn BKI) sebagai solusi inovatif untuk memperluas akses konseling Islami berbasis teknologi digital. Aplikasi ini dirancang dengan pendekatan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), yang memberikan kerangka sistematis dalam setiap tahapan pengembangan. Fokus penelitian mencakup analisis kebutuhan pengguna, desain dan pengembangan aplikasi, implementasi, serta evaluasi efektivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ALOn BKI berhasil menyediakan layanan konseling Islami yang fleksibel dan praktis, dilengkapi fitur interaktif seperti chat, video call, dan materi berbasis nilai-nilai syariah. Uji coba aplikasi menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pengguna yang tinggi, terutama dalam hal kemudahan akses dan relevansi layanan dengan ajaran agama Islam. Selain itu, fitur pengingat dan pembimbingan berkelanjutan mendukung proses konseling secara efektif. Meskipun demikian, terdapat tantangan berupa rendahnya literasi digital pada beberapa pengguna dan perlunya penguatan sistem keamanan data pribadi. Rekomendasi pengembangan lebih lanjut meliputi penambahan fitur analitik untuk melacak perkembangan klien serta grup dukungan tematik. Kesimpulannya, ALOn BKI memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan efektivitas layanan konseling Islami berbasis teknologi. Aplikasi ini berpotensi menjadi model bagi pengembangan layanan konseling berbasis agama di masa depan
