Modeling Dynamics of Technovation in Competitive Manufacturing
Technovation (technovation + innovation) is a crucial factor for survival and competitive strength of organizations. For manufacturing units, technovations of the product system and of the processes generating these products are essential. Majority of literature focuses either on product technovation or on process technovation. Referring to the complexity and inherent dynamics of industrial technovation process decision-making in technovation management is a challenging job. In addition to numerous interactions with the environment, complexity of technovation processes in manufacturing units results from interactions between product and process technovation. This paper provides modeling dynamics of technovation processes reflecting the interdependencies of the product-process technovation system. The model gives an insight into the dynamic consequences of actions in technovation management and allows testing different technovation strategies. Medical Human Factor Engineering and Workspace Design

The healthcare hub is the leading factor for current economic growth of India. Human Factor Engineering (HFE) plays a vital role in this field. In medical or healthcare, the field is named as Medical Human Factor Engineering (MHFE). This paper discusses on how MHFE responsible for strengthen the Technology Management of Hospital, Hazards from device failure and use related, Human Factors consideration in medical device use and case study on (Infusion Pumps) errors committed by users in each clinical area. Now the challenging issue for HFE is to design a proper workspace to avoid human errors and the four workspace design principles of Sanders & McCormick (1993) is also discussed. Environment And Sustainable Development
With the dawn of the 21st century, we are confronted with two conflicting scenarios for the future of man kind. On the one hand, there are possibilities of a bright future with press button living, space shuttles, information technology, genetic engineering and such other advances in science and technology. On the other hand, a grim scenario is looming large with burgeoning population starved of resources and choked by pollution. Faced with such crucial situation wherein we stand at the crossroads in choosing between environment and development we feel the need of ‘Sustainable Development’. The concept of sustainable development means that the rate of consumption or use of natural resources should approximate the rate at which these resources can be substituted or replaced. It further requires that a nation or society is able to satisfy its requirements- social, economic or others without jeopardising the interest of future generations. Consumer Food-Choice Behaviour Model
International Festivals are common in all countries. However countries hosting international festivals are unaware of the expectations and behavior of travellers related to their food choice behavior before their visit. A study was conducted with specific reference to Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), Sarawak, Malaysia, to explore the food choice behavior of international travellers relating to neophobic behavior. The study followed interpretive research philosophy and exploratory study design with phenomenological interpretations, case studies and Delphi method. The research design integrated a longitudinal design during 2016 to 2017 period to develop a food choice consumer behavior model with triangulated tools and methods, identified causative factors related to consumer food choices. The study followed purposive sampling with a sample of 148travelers during the festival and data collection was done with the triangulated tools of indepth interviews, content analysis and observation following phenomenology method. The investigators came up with a thematic model in relation to food choice behavior of RWMF travelers, by extending theoretical and practical contributions

FCM and Statistical Based Approach for Classification and Location of Faults in Electrical Distribution System
Electric Power Distribution System is a complex network of electrical power system. Also, large number of lines on a distribution system experiences regular faults which lead to high value of current. Speedy and precise fault location plays a pivotal role in accelerating system restoration which is a need of modern day. Unlike transmission system which involves a simple connection, distribution system has a very complicated structure thereby making it a herculean task to design the network for computational analysis. In this paper, the authors have simulated IEEE 13- node distribution system using PSCAD which is an unbalanced system and current samples are generated at the substation end. A Fuzzy c-mean (FCM) and statistical based approach has been used. Samples are transformed as clusters by use of FCM and fed to Expectation- Maximization (EM) algorithm for classifying and locating faults in an unbalanced distribution system. Further, it is to be kept in mind that the combination has not been used for the above purpose as per the literature available till date
Improvement of Transient Stability of VSC HVDC System with Particle Swarm Optimization Based PI Controller
This paper proposes the improvement of power flow during transient condition of HVDC light using PI Controller. The Optimal design of PI controller for a HVDC light is a challenging task and time consuming using the conventional techniques. This work presents analysis of transient stability of HVDC link using PI controller, and the stability has been improved by optimized gains of PI controller. The simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed Particle swarm Optimization Technique (PSO) based approach for the design of optimal conventional controller for a HVDC light in a single machine decoupled power system
Decision Tree Based UV/VIS Response To Access the age of Transformer Oil
Diagnostics and proper monitoring of power transformer plays a key role in the life expectancy of proper transformer. Mineral oil in transformer is the inseparable component of the dielectric insulation system. Information about the health of the power transformer that can be use to plan cost, maintenance, renovation and operational criteria can be accurately interpreted using UV- Spectrophotometer. As UV scan can only show the pictorial information of the age of the oil hence it is not advantageous in all aspects. In the present paper a decision tree method to determine the age of the transformer oil is introduced. The decision tree uses the UV/VIS spectroscopy absorbance values of the transformer oil which are in service at several locations. The decision tree method is designed so that the results of transformer oil can be examined quickly and automatically. The results obtained are compared with the UV/VIS spectroscopy for testing the accuracy of the decision tree and found that it is 100% accurate

The smart power grid distributed energy system would provide the platform for the use of renewable sources and adequate emergency power for major metropolitan load centers and would safeguard in preventing the complete blackout of environmental calamity and would provide the ability to break up the interconnected power systems into the cluster smaller regions. MODELLING AND ESTIMATING VOLTAGE AND CURRENT HARMONICS OF VARIABLE SPEED DRIVES (VSD)
This paper presents an analysis on the calculation of harmonic current and voltage components of a variable speed drive (VSD). The requirement for advanced and accurate harmonic mitigating techniques has become essential because of the rapid increase ofnonlinear loads like VSD’s in both industrial and commercial applications. A new state-of-the-art MATLABSimulink based harmonic calculator using DiscreteFourier Transform (DFT) was designed to calculate the current and voltage harmonics more accuratelyin order to understand the realistic extra iron loss components inside the rotating machine due to converter switching. This also helpsto optimize the system performance when a converter is coupled with the electric machine.In addition to its harmonic mitigating capabilities, this method can plot harmonic spectrum which helps to design wide spectrum active harmonic filter to eliminate pollutant odd harmonics not entering rotating electrical machines.The harmonic analysis presented in this paper is for a 5hp DC motor connected with the phase controlled rectifier. This model is suitable for virtually any application involving a VSD or similar converters to effectively mitigate voltage and current harmonics
